Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness. Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people. Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. Clara is a 10‑month‑old, 40‑lb Plott Hound mix who truly beat the odds. She survived the shelter when her brother and sister heartbreakingly did not, and she’s determined to make her second chance count. Despite her rough start, Clara is pure sunshine — social, happy, and instantly in love with every person and dog she meets. She’s an adventurer at heart, always ready to explore, run in the yard, or proudly parade around with her favorite chew toy. Keeping busy makes her happiest. When the day winds down, Clara becomes the world’s sweetest snuggler. She’ll press her whole body against you, soaking up every bit of love she can get. Clara is vaccinated, spayed, and needs a new home immediately. A fenced‑in yard is highly recommended so she can safely enjoy the freedom she loves. Maryann needs a hero. Growing up in rescue is not living her "best life". She has not had it easy. She was adopted as a puppy, but when her dad got a new girlfriend, he decided that he couldn't be bothered with his dogs and so after a year, Maryann ended up back at the rescue. Now, she is hopeful that someone will see her sweet nature and beautiful colors and make her their newest family member. She is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, house trained and ready to be adopted. All she needs now is a good loving home full of happiness, playfulness and lots of love. She is in TN but one of our donors has sponsored her so the cost of transport to your area is included in her fee. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road, Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

She loves playing fetch with herself and flinging toys across the room only to spring after them. She is great at entertaining herself but also loves playing with the resident dog where she is fostered. Cloe would really enjoy having a confident doggie friend to show her the ropes. She enjoys walks and is occasionally startled by sudden noises. She is easily redirected and encouraged. She is eager to learn tricks and is very food motivated. Cloe does best when crated when you are gone, it's her safe space. She is very smart and will continue to grow and learn in a relaxed environment.
