Story
ABOUT LUCKY CLOVER This gorgeous girl is a 1 year old Plott Hound mix. Lucky Clover came to HAP on a rescue flight from multiple southern, high-intake shelters. There, she was at risk for euthanasia because she had given birth to a litter of pups and the shelter did not have space for them. All of her babies have been adopted and Lucky Clover is hoping to find her forever home too! **Lucky Clover recently had puppies and she has not been spayed yet. Due to this, she has not been introduced to other dogs yet. At this time, she is available for foster or foster-to-adopt! Once she is healthy enough to safely spay her, she will be ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
We'll also keep you updated on Lucky Clover's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Meet Smokey, a charming two-year-old Plott Hound with a heart full of love and a nose for adventure. According to his previous owner, Smokey is a purebred Plott Hound, and his striking brindle coat and soft, floppy ears certainly speak to his hound heritage.Smokey found his way to our rescue partner after repeatedly running loose and, eventually, his previous owners did not reclaim him. Despite his past, Smokey remains an incredibly sweet pup with a personality that shines. True to his hound nature, he’s full of energy and curiosity, but with an extra dose of affection that makes him irresistible.Smokey is wonderful with children and gets along well with other dogs, making him a great addition to any family. One of his favorite activities is getting the zoomies in the play yard, where he can show off his playful and exuberant side.If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion with the sweetest temperament and a zest for life, Smokey is ready to join your family. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: acskc.org/adoption/adoption-applicationOnce your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Story
Hello, my name is Ritchley! I came to the shelter as a stray, and no one came for me so I am now looking for my furever home. I tend to be a little nervous at first, especially with loud and unfamiliar noises of the city. I just need some reassurance and TLC to learn that I am okay. Since I do spook easily, it would be best that any kids in the home are 8 and older who can respect my boundaries. I may do well with cats with proper introduction, but I haven't met one before. I do need to be the only dog in the home though. I am also able to jump fences, so please consider keeping me leashed/tethered or never unsupervised. I do have a big heart and plenty of love and companionship to share if you'll give me a chance.---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
This boy was part of a neglect/ hoarding case. He is very friendly… with everything! He likes people, kids, either dogs…..not sure on cats but we’re sure he would do well. He has a wonderful personality, he does not need to be in charge. He does well with other dogs and is good on a leash. He loved everyone at an adoption event, he does not meet a stranger!! He is a super good boy who is ready to finally find a home of his own. He will need housetraining but we think he does have some training already. He listens well, just needs some work on manners. He does jump when excited so beware smaller kids. He would do well with a yard or plenty of exercise. An active family would be best as he does not like to sit still when around people, he’s just too excited and happy. He is ready to find his own energetic family.
