Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness.   Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people.  Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. Mika's adoption fee is $500.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
This is a sweet girl ready to find her own home. She is fun but is a bit shy at first. She should have no problems learning a new routine. She is in a foster home trying to learn how to be in a house and how to get along with cats. She will need a yard or activities to stay busy per her breed mix. She has done well on a leash, she feels more comfortable if there is another dog along. She is a happy, friendly girl who would be a wonderful companion for any family. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
**Foster Update** "Slim Spice is settling in so well; it only took her about 2 days to adjust to her foster home. We are working on 'sit' and she is almost completely house-broken. She walks on the leash great and she crates perfect." ✨ Meet Slim Spice! ✨ Slim Spice’s story is one of survival and second chances. She was originally found as a stray on September 9th, severely underweight and suffering from an eye condition. Terrified and shut down, she was brought to an overcrowded, underfunded city shelter—the only open-intake shelter in the area. Like many dogs in that system, Slim Spice was given a “timestamp,” meaning she had a deadline for adoption or rescue. With over 100 dogs surrendered in just three and a half days, space quickly ran out, and Slim Spice was at risk of euthanasia. Luckily, a foster stepped up just hours before her scheduled euthanasia, giving her the chance at life she so deeply deserves. Now safe with us, Slim Spice is slowly learning that people can be kind and that she is finally safe. She will need surgery to correct her cherry eye, time to put on healthy weight, and patience while she rebuilds her confidence. Despite her rough past, she is incredibly sweet, gentle, and friendly with both people and other dogs. Slim Spice will thrive in a home that can give her love, patience, and stability while she continues to heal. In return, she’ll give you the joy of watching her blossom into the happy, loving dog she was always meant to be. 🐾 Apply to be considered at www.angelsretreat.org
