Basil is a loving female dog who is in need of a nurturing home. This affectionate and funny dog is known for being gentle and smart, but independent. She is loyal to her loved ones and very friendly around strangers, but she is also protective and playful. Basil is an incredibly curious dog who enjoys napping on the couch. She loves to cuddle up with her humans and protect them from any potential danger. While Basil's breed is unknown to us, we believe her to be a mix of Plott Hound and Pitbull Terrier and or some labrador retriever. Basil is 3 Years old. She has had a rough life, and she deserves a bright future. Basil is good with dogs with a slow introduction, older cats and kids. Meet Victor! He arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 5/9, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. The volunteers describe Victor as a friendly, distinguished gentleman who was clearly loved at one time. Someone took the time to teach Victor manners because he knows sit, shake, down, and stay. What a smart boy! If you have a soft spot for the seniors who deserve a loving home for their golden years, please come meet Victor! Victor is approximately 10 years old, and weighs 55 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Victor is waiting patiently in kennel 54; his ID # is 18861. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Dakota is a young adult probably 3 years old. He weighs about 65 lb. When he arrived he was heartworm positive. He has completed treatment as is doing great. Dakota is friendly but can be distrustful of strangers at first. He walks well on leash and will sit when asked. He can pull a bit. I use a training collar on him. He is well mannered. He will jump up but I've not had him put his feet on me. He loves attention and enjoys going for hikes with me. He would become a devoted, protective companion. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative (on monthly heartworm and flea preventive) and are microchipped. Upon adoption, the microchip will be registered with your contact information and you will be eligible to activate a free 30 day health insurance policy.
