Story
Hey, my name is Rex. I was a puppy at the Ranch who is being returned through no fault of my own. I am almost 18 months old. I’m a very playful pup who loves to run outside and play tug of war. I love kids and other dogs. I do sleep all through the night and am crate trained. Just give me water and watch me run. I can sit, shake and wait on command. PS I love cheese balls and animal crackers as snacks.

Story
Laid back family dog Lobo aka "Goofy" Likes: food, treats, walks, cuddles, kisses, playing (with humans or other dogs), sun bathing, socks Just started to: fetch, do zoomies/crazies Working through: car rides, FOMO He can sit, stay, lay down & doesn't mind the kennel. He can eat his food around other dogs, kids & adults. He's not a huge barker (at people outside). Lobo is super chill but so excited at the same time. Would be a great fit with other dogs. Lobo is such a lovable, gentle soul.  He absolutely loves other dogs and  people. Loyal and easy going, he's the perfect companion for humans and dogs. He is allergic to chicken as a protein in his food and is using fish as the main protein, he’s definitely gaining the weight he needs!    He is finding his voice and does do some barking.    He loves to play and has learned tug of war, both with humans & other dogs.    Lobo loves treats and to cuddle and gets so excited over everything.    We are still working on him not jumping on people, but still also trying to allow him to be a dog.    He may eat your food if it’s within his reach, but he has gotten a lot better at that (he was starved when we found him). Lobo does great on a leash (harness/leash) and enjoys walks.    He is a little anxious and still getting used to everything going on in the world.    He does get nervous in car rides and will pee, but we’re working on that, too.    He does great being left out (of the kennel) over night and so far, up to 5-6 hours, but also does great if he’s put in the kennel.    Lobo gets a little nervous at night when I open the back to door let them all pee before bed and sometimes will need you to walk out there with him while he does his thing (I think he was left outside before he was abandoned and afraid you’ll leave him out there).  He doesn't mind the rain, either! Lobo pays attention to what the other dogs do and follows suit!   He can eat at the same time, right next to the other dogs and they all respect each other’s boundaries.    He is great waiting in line for his treats, too!    He is good with baths and trimming his nails.   He can sit, lay down, & stay.  He is the perfect fit if you’re wanting another dog to keep your current dog company, without starting at the puppy phase.    He has great energy.  Age: 2 years WT:  41lbs. Temperament: Good with all people and dogs.   Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative    Training: House trained, crate trained, knows a few commands,  For questions, please email hmlid14@yahoo.com     To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. June 24, 2024, 12:43 pm

Story
Teddy is an affectionate, energetic, and playful boy! He is an Plott Hound mix about 4 years old and was rescued as a puppy after he was found abandoned. Teddy is crate trained and is used to staying in his crate at night and while we are at work during the day. He has also gone through basic obedience training and knows sit, stay, down, and place. Teddy loves all people and is happiest when he is cuddled up on the couch with you or playing fetch. We need to find a new home for Teddy as he does not get along with the other dog in our household. Teddy goes to doggie daycare twice per week and is good with other dogs in that environment, but at home, Teddy needs to be the only dog. We are looking for a new home for Teddy where he can have plenty of activity and can be the only furry focus of his owner’s affections!

Story
Cookie is in love with life and she is constantly in motion, a little whirlwind of tiger stripes swirling around the shelter. She is joyful, bubbly and incredibly curious about everything. She peppers us with questions: What's in your pocket? Where is the sky? Why won't the squirrels let me sniff them? Cookie needs a human friend (or friends) to teach her and guide her. She'd love a home where playing is encouraged and she will be allowed to join in the fun. Cookie loves toys and would like to become a Master of Fetch one day. She's smart and wants to please you. We're learning more about her play style and likes, but she seems good with seeing other dogs around the shelter. Cookie is delightful, and she deserves every good thing in life.
