Story
Meet Sebastian, the 60lb bundle of fun-loving energy! This handsome hound is always up for a good time and loves nothing more than barking with joy when he's having a blast. With his goofy grin and wagging tail, he's sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. At 5 years old, Sebastian is in his prime and ready to take on the world. He's great with other dogs and loves nothing more than making new friends. However, if you have a feline friend, Sebastian is not the right match for you as he's not fond of cats. If you're an active person or family, Sebastian is the perfect match. He needs plenty of exercise and playtime to keep him happy and healthy. A big, fenced yard would be perfect for him to run around in and burn off all that energy. Sebastian is looking for his forever home and can't wait to find his perfect match. If you're ready for a lifetime of love, laughs, and adventures, come meet Sebastian today You can go to our website  www.cedartownpolkcountyhumanesociety.com  and complete an application.  It will not obligate or cost you.  If we get more that one inquiry and all things are equal, we go on a first come first serve basis according to application submission. ##1382032##

Story
Sure, you've heard it before. 'He's just the biggest baby.' But this is Neptune, and he is THE *biggest* baby! He is a slow-intros kindof a boy, because he needs a lot of babying and reassurance before he lets his true self shine. Then he becomes the king of goofy grins and silly sweetness. With his nice manners and housetraining, Neptune is all set to be your handsomest housemate (which is great, because being left outside alone gives this big baby the blues).  A quiet fellow, he lets his smile and his charm do his speaking for him. Once you are best buds, he'll even let you dress him like a baby doll (cuz he's such a  doll baby!).  He likes other dogs but is terrified of those untrustworthy cats.   ~  DOB:7/15/2020  ~  Intake weight: 53#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.html  May 22, 2023, 8:42 pm

Story
A SMART & LOVING GIRL:  5 years old / 57 lbs.   Hi, my name is Lindy!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control heartworm positive and looking for a great home.  Thankfully, I’ve been treated for the heartworms and am doing well!  The love of the volunteers has helped me open up and they describe me as gentle, smart and loving.  I got to participate in the prison/foster training program after my heartworm treatment and learned a lot!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I will want to be your only dog. I can be around some dogs but should not live with them. / No cats please as I am way too interested in them, not in a good way. / I met kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts as well as a 4- and 6-year old in my foster home and liked them, so if you have kids around those ages, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  Also, kids shouldn’t walk me due to my dislike of other dogs.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am an affectionate and gentle yet strong girl, just ready to be loved.  One of my temp. fosters said if it were physically possible, I would merge with people, I like them so much.  I got a little excited at first in my temporary foster home so I jumped up to get a hug, which is a lot since I am a big girl.  I listen well so this is easily corrected, just please be patient with my enthusiasm as I adjust to my new home.  I can be a little shy at first, then I am ready to give and accept all the snuggles and kisses.  My temp. foster said I snore a bit, but I find this hard to believe LOL.  I had fun going for an occasional jog with another temp. foster so maybe this is something we can do together.  I am sweet and smart and I even go to my bed when I am told. / My energy level is 4-6.    • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my gentle leader as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I sometimes paw a bit at my gentle leader so please ask my trainer about proper adjustment.  It really works great, but it’s important to know how to use it—my trainer would be happy to help you with this.  My temp. foster likes to use a harness with me so please ask about these options.  My temp. foster said I’m also great at waiting on the couch when someone comes to the door as well as staying out of the kitchen while she cooks. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and were good in my temp. foster home. One temp. foster said I am trustworthy outside of my crate as well. / My potty habits have been very good on the shelter schedule and were good in my temp. foster home. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I am all about the belly rubs and I have a soft, low-shedding coat so we’ll both enjoy all the pets!  I’ll freely give sweet kisses and hugs in return.  I like to go for trail walks and even an occasional jog.  I like playing with squeaky toys (but keep an eye out as I can quickly de-squeak them) and puzzle toys, since I am smart and VERY food- motivated. I also love my chew bone, benebones, cuddle time, Kongs filled with peanut butter or pumpkin and those yummy Pup-Peroni.  / Loud noises and trucks startle me, and I have shown that I do not like restraint, except the snuggling kind which I am sad if I don’t get.  Also, I am a bit shy of hands over my head until I know you.  I am also startled by sudden movements. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:   I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. Thankfully, I have completed my heartworm treatment and rest period, and I am ready to get back into a regular exercise routine.  Local adoption would be best for my heartworm re-check in March 2023 and Mostly Mutts will pay for that with their local vet.  I am looking for a great home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.June 2, 2023, 8:28 am
