Freshly baked down in North Carolina and ready to travel north to find her forever home, Pumpernickel Swirl is a one-of-a-kind Plott Hound mix with a heart as warm as a bakery on a winter morning. Equal parts cuddle bug and brainiac, this girl is as smart as she is snuggly — and trust us, she takes both jobs very seriously. Pumpernickel Swirl is a certified family favorite: she adores kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has shown no interest in stirring up drama with cats. Got an active household? Perfect. Pumpernickel Swirl would thrive in a home where adventures are on the daily menu — think backyard zoomies, long walks, and maybe even the occasional dog park outing. After she’s had her fun, she’s more than happy to “loaf” around with her favorite humans and soak up all the love. Now, every special recipe has its quirks — and Pumpernickel Swirl is no exception. She has some food allergies and requires a special diet along with allergy medication. But don’t worry — she handles her routine like a champ, and in return, you get a happy, healthy pup who will love you endlessly. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who is equal parts playful, affectionate, and whip-smart, Pumpernickel Swirl might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to rise to the occasion… all she needs now is a home to call her own. So, what do you say — are you ready to add a little Swirl to your world? Apply today! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
