Story
Rolo A medium-energy Hound/Plott/Mixed Breed pup who's already proving himself to be a wonderful fit for family life! Rolo has been absolutely great with kids, getting along beautifully with his foster family's 7 and 9 year olds. He's also shown he can roll with dogs of all sizes — palling around just fine with a 10lb Maltipoo and a 54lb Catahoula alike! When he first came into the home, Rolo was respectfully submissive with the two resident dogs, showing off some great social skills right out of the gate. In just his first 24 hours in his foster home, Rolo hasn't had a single accident and has already figured out to head to the back door when he needs to go out — smart boy! He doesn't seem to have had any formal training yet, but his foster family is already working with him on sit, and while his leash manners could use some polishing, he's not far off from being a leash-walking pro. Rolo stats, because you asked: 1 year old and settling into home life like a champ Hound x Plott x Mixed Breed — the "nose-driven AND easygoing" combo platter Medium energy — active, but not overwhelming Great with kids and dogs of all sizes, big or small Already signaling at the door to go potty, zero accidents so far Currently learning sit and working on leash manners A bit of a chewer when left alone too long (RIP one crate blanket) — could use some crate enrichment and a solid exercise routine Currently accepting applications for family fun and furry friendships Fair warning: Rolo is a smart, eager pup who just needs some basic training and structure to really shine — and given how quickly he's picked up on potty training and reading the room with other dogs, he sounds like a fast learner. Give him consistency, some chew-proof crate time, and plenty of exercise, and you'll have a wonderful, family-friendly companion for years to come. If you're looking for a good-natured, medium-energy pup who already fits right in with kids and other dogs, Rolo might just be your perfect match! Ready to fall in love? Apply today — Rolo is waiting to meet his people! Warning: extreme good-boy potential ahead. **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our adoption questionnaire.** The adoption fee for this dog is $425. Routine vetting and spay or neuter surgery are included in the adoption fee. For more information, please email Svessali@petconnectrescue.org

I’m Baby Piper, and I may have had a rough start, but I’m ready for my happily ever after! I was found by a dumpster behind a senior center in Georgia, and thankfully, I’m now safe and ready to find a family of my very own. I’m a beautiful brindle Plott Hound mix (best guess!) with a sweet personality to match. I’m friendly, playful, affectionate, and still just a puppy, which means I’m at the perfect age for training, socialization, and learning all about the good things life has to offer. After everything I’ve been through, I’m ready to learn what it means to be loved, safe, and part of a family. I deserve the very best — could that be with you? Apply today and let’s start our life together! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
