Story
Sensitive souls like Frankie are one of a kind. They are extremely loyal and trust their humans completely. They are wary of strangers, however, and will require a bit of time to feel totally comfortable with them. Once you're in their circle of trust, you are a friend for life! This 3-4 year old 55lbs medium energy good boy sports a beautiful brindle coat with white patches and stripes decorating in strategic spots to give me my unique look. He walks beautifully on the leash, is potty and crate trained. Frankie LOVES walks and would be the perfect companion for anyone looking for a walking buddy or hiking friend. He equally loves to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy the quiet moments in life. He is quite adaptable, but would prefer quiet homes without lots of comings and goings. The city setting with loud noises and busy streets prove to be too hectic and stressful for him. Life in the suburbs (especially with a backyard) is more his vibe. Frankie is very dog friendly. When it comes to humans, it takes him a bit to warm up. He is a little cautious of strangers but is not above bribing. He just needs people to greet him respectfully and not invade his space. If you live in a quiet neighborhood in DC/MD/NoVa and are looking for your next partner in crime, Frankie will happily be your ride or die! Just fill out an application for him via the link below to begin the process: https://forms.gle/or8PCrfNVhSjanNj9

Story
~AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION~ This handsome fella is 3yr old, 65lb, mixed hound/bully breed named Marley. Marley came to us from a high kill shelter in North Carolina where he was surrendered for his family having too many dogs. Marley is as sweet as they come. He loves to love everyone he meets. Marley has shown he is good with kids while at his NC foster home. While he will tolerate crating he also has done well being contained to a room when left alone. He is housebroken and does well on leash. He enjoys spending time with people and is just happy to be a part of the family.  As well as arriving to the shelter a bit under weight Marley was found to be heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment in our rescue. Marley receives his second round of injections the week of April 20th. His heartworm treatment is paid for by us (the rescue) and upon completion he will be heartworm free and needs to remain on monthly heartworm preventative (as all dogs should) for the remainder of his life to prevent this from happening again.  Marley is microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventatives with an adoption fee of $375. Marley is not yet neutered but an appointment will be made via the rescue after his heartworm treatment is completed. If you think this handsome hunk of love would make a wonderful addition to your family please fill out our adoption application at: https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-application Thanks!  April 14, 2026, 8:08 pm

Now that her babies have reached adoption age and are off to find their own forever homes, it’s finally Miley’s turn to be the one getting spoiled — and she is ready. This sweet girl has a gentle soul and a heart as big as her puppy pile used to be. Her favorite hobbies include soaking up affection, rolling over for belly rubs (her favorite), and being near her people. After all her hard work, Miley is more than happy to trade in “mom duty” for “couch companion” — and she’ll excel at it.     Miley has given so much love in her life already… now she’s just waiting for someone to give that love right back. So, what do you say — ready to make this amazing mama the queen of your home?  Apply today and don't let this one get away! Your pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Equal parts cuddle bug and brainiac, this girl is as smart as she is snuggly — and trust us, she takes both jobs very seriously.     Pumpernickel Swirl is a certified family favorite:  she adores kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has shown no interest in stirring up drama with cats. Got an active household? Perfect. Pumpernickel Swirl would thrive in a home where adventures are on the daily menu — think backyard zoomies, long walks, and maybe even the occasional dog park outing. After she’s had her fun, she’s more than happy to “loaf” around with her favorite humans and soak up all the love.     Now, every special recipe has its quirks — and Pumpernickel Swirl is no exception. She has some food allergies and requires a special diet along with allergy medication. But don’t worry — she handles her routine like a champ, and in return, you get a happy, healthy pup who will love you endlessly.     If you’re looking for a loyal companion who is equal parts playful, affectionate, and whip-smart, Pumpernickel Swirl might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to rise to the occasion… all she needs now is a home to call her own. So, what do you say — are you ready to add a little Swirl to your world?  Apply today!  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
