Meet sweet Wags! I named him that because his tail wags nonstop! He was abandoned along with his brother on 11/22 and brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. He is a mixed breed and according to my Dog Scanner app he possibly has Plott Hound/American Pit Bull/Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and Louisiana Catahoula Leopard in the mix. He was kenneled with his brother and the brother was adopted today. Now Wags is all alone and I imagine is feeling lonely after having been abandoned by his owner, and then with his brother leaving. He weighs 39 pounds and is about 2 years old. He is nervous and unsure of himself in the shelter environment. Upon leaving his kennel, he crawled down the hallway on the leash but when returning he did walk. He knows the sit command and takes treats ever so softly. Upon arrival in the room in which his photos were taken, he found a soft, cushy bed and he wasn't too interested in getting up and moving about. It just felt so comfortable! Wags is a friendly and sweet-natured fellow, and was affectionate and wanted to be in a human companion's lap. He truly wants to be friends, he just needs to learn to trust and to gain confidence.

Meet Star! She is a 4 yr old spayed female plott hound/boxer mix that weighs 50lbs and is microchipped. She was an owner surrender on 1/12 due to the owner had too many animals. Star is just that, such a bright light you can see her eyes. She has been an inside pup and very well taken care of. Except for the top of her head which appears to be a cluster of lipomas, but a vet can confirm. She has a very happy and loving personality and walks very well on a leash, takes treats gently, knows the sit command, and has been housetrained. She has an adorable smile too! She has lived with other dogs, yet we do always ask if there will be another dog in the family to please ask the shelter for a dog test. She loves to go play in the shelter yard and do zoomies many times! She loves to chase balls but she will not bring them back. This lovely girl would make a great family companion. One that will stay committed to her, have a vet examination, and have the secured backyard to run and play in, but be an inside pup to cuddle close and watch tv with. Sweet Star deserves that chance.
