Meet Reese! She's a sweet happy girl with a lot of love to give. Reese is good with kids, cats, other dogs, and all people. She loves to play with her giant rope toy and lets out one big 'ruff!' when she needs to go out or is ready to come in. She loves a big dog bed or a nap on the couch. I met Reese on my first day volunteering at the animal shelter. She had been there an entire year sleeping on the cold concrete floor. (She was surrendered by someone who loved her.) Reese is a plot hound. I believe she went unadopted because she looks like a Rottweiler or pit bull. When we met four-year-old Reese, she was skinny and limping. Two years later, she's chubby and happy. When the weather is bad you can tell she hurts a bit, but it doesn't keep her from being happy. (She reminds me of me, lol.) She does have hip issues that are managed with periodic medication. Shadow is a 1.5 year old hunting hound she has a huge story before and after her rescue with a very large following. She loves other dogs and seeks them out. She would do best in a home with another well behaved young active dog. She's been known to run but getting better and she currently wears a tracking device on her collar. She opens up pretty quickly but is very scared and shy without another dog . She was emaciated and on the run when rescued. She is now gaining weight and beautiful. Barney and Odie were at a local shelter because their owner did not want them and their days there were just too long. They are both so very cute and sweet. Odie is about 3 years old and only weighs 32 lbs. The shelter said he definitely is a "cuddle bug" He was, surrendered to a local shelter on 9/4 with his brother, Barney, because they were not wanted. He was in the shelter for 55 days and we saw his adorable face and just had to rescue him. He is 3 to 4 yrs old and weighs 35 lbs. He is a perfect Medium size! He is a tail-wagging confident boy with an inquisitive nature. He is extremely sweet natured and amiable. He craves attention and love when he gets it. He is active and alert, yet not overwhelming with his energy level. He is crazy about treats and though does not know to sit for them yet, he is able to catch treats in his mouth which is pretty cool. Seems like he has never had toys and he doesn't seem to know what they are. He prefers to hang out with his humans. Odie would seem a good fit for a laid-back household. He dreams of a home in which he lives inside spending time with family, cuddling, and hanging out together. Favorite This Pet ##2565793##

She is great with small dogs and seems a bit timid with large dogs but we think she would be fine in time as she gets to know them. She is obedient and aims to please. Ulti is being fostered in PA. Ulti is both BLIND and DEAF. Ulti/Glitch is doing well. Glitch is a confident social butterfly and has no fears. She loves to go anywhere she can interact with people and other animals. She walks wonderfully on a leash and enjoys car rides. Glitch is currently learning how to crate, something she wasn't able to handle as a puppy and she is doing great with it. She uses a doggy door to go in and out for potty and yard time. Glitch absolutely loves children and is a very personable girl who also enjoys snuggling next to her people. She is not a high energy dog but would do well with an active family/person or a laid back quiet home as well. She is working on her touch commands and knows the sit, wait and come. Glitch is 37lbs and won't get any bigger. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Volt is being fostered in NC. Volt has some vision. update Volt is doing well! He lives for cuddles at night before going to bed in his crate. During the day he has one speed and that is lightning fast. His favorite treat is carrots and he will do anything for them but lay down, lol. He has a pretty good recall and knows sit. He is fully potty trained and goes to the back door when he needs to go out. He plays so gently with his foster mom's mini aussies and rough and tumble with Elektra (corso) and Trigger (lab). Volt had some grand mal seizures that were caused by Simparica Trio. These lasted about 3 weeks with lingering focal seizures. He is still on keppra and he's doing great! He has not had any seizures in the last 3 months. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately

Wrangler is being fostered in PA. Wrangler has some limited vision. Haroo, my foster Mommy said I had to give an update on me. I am now 11 months old! She has been helping me deal with something called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. Man, thems big words. I will just call it what foster Mommy says, EPI. It means that that pancre-something thing inside me doesn’t give me enzymes so I can digest proteins. So foster Mommy puts enzymes in my food to help me with that. Also, Mr Vet Dr said because of this EPI thing, my B12 level in my blood is low, so foster Mommy gives me a shot every other week of B12. I am a good boy for those and don’t even feel them, as long as I hold still. Other than that, I am still learning various commands. I tell foster Mommy when I need to go out. I sleep all night with foster Mommy. I love playing with other dogs and cuddling with humans. I can sometimes get scared when I don’t know someone, but will warm up to them especially if they have treats. I am okay with older children. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
