Story
Meet Reese! She's a sweet happy girl with a lot of love to give. Reese is good with kids, cats, other dogs, and all people. She loves to play with her giant rope toy and lets out one big 'ruff!' when she needs to go out or is ready to come in. She loves a big dog bed or a nap on the couch. I met Reese on my first day volunteering at the animal shelter. She had been there an entire year sleeping on the cold concrete floor. (She was surrendered by someone who loved her.) Reese is a plot hound. I believe she went unadopted because she looks like a Rottweiler or pit bull. When we met four-year-old Reese, she was skinny and limping. Two years later, she's chubby and happy. When the weather is bad you can tell she hurts a bit, but it doesn't keep her from being happy. (She reminds me of me, lol.) She does have hip issues that are managed with periodic medication. It is heartbreaking that we find ourselves in a position to rehome her due to personal issues, but we are hopeful she will find the forever home she truly deserves. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Reese, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Gordon is still waiting… Two-year-old Gordon has known what it’s like to be overlooked. He’s watched as other dogs found their forever families while he’s been left behind—through no fault of his own. This gentle, loving Plott Hound mix has so much love to give, but his special needs make him easy to pass by. Gordon has epilepsy, and while it’s manageable with medication, he needs a family willing to see past his condition and love him for the amazing dog he is. Gordon is calm, sweet, and wonderful with other dogs and attends doggie daycare often. He dreams of a home where he can finally feel safe, snuggled up beside someone who won’t give up on him. He doesn’t ask for much—just love, stability, and a family who sees his heart, not just his challenges. He’s been waiting. Hoping. Wondering when it will be his turn. Could you be the one to show Gordon that he’s not forgotten? Contact [Rescue/Shelter Name] to meet Gordon. He’s ready to love you forever.     ##1760794##

Lola was rescued from a local shelter and now her owner has to give her up to no fault of her own.  She is a gorgeous, sweet girl.  She is great with small dogs and seems a bit timid with large dogs but we think she would be fine in time as she gets to know them.  She is obedient and aims to please.  She is about 9 months old, Jan. 2024, and weighs 50 lbs. ##1623586##

Story
Shadow is a 1.5 year old hunting hound she has a huge story before and after her rescue with a very large following. She loves other dogs and seeks them out. She would do best in a home with another well behaved young active dog. She's been known to run but getting better and she currently wears a tracking device on her collar. She opens up pretty quickly but is very scared and shy without another dog . She was emaciated and on the run when rescued. She is now gaining weight and beautiful. She's spayed, vaccinated, chipped on flea prevention. She's HW positive and started treatment. Please reach out to me personally with any questions regarding Miss Shadow. Jenna Hughes 214-405-4384

Story
Harper loves to be close! She is a one to two year-old plott hound/black mouth cur mix that weighs 63 pounds and arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/4 as a stray. She appeared to be timid in her kennel, but once she got out in the yard she came to life! .She was frisky and was attempting to entice me to play with her. She does fetch and retrieve balls. She sits for treats and takes them gently. She comes when you call her. She’s friendly, outgoing, active, and affectionate. She didn’t have a problem meeting other dogs. She walked OK on a leash. She would like to have a yard to stretch her legs in and to play in but would like to spend most of her time inside cuddling up with her new family.

Story
Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m Ginger II! I'm a VERY loving long haired soft coated Catahoula/Pit bull mix. I am white with beige spots and a long tail. I have light colored eyes. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153m great with kids. I think chihuahuas are my friend. Although I have been an outside dog, I prefer to be inside with my owners. I spend the night in my kennel and eat at 7 am and 5 pm. I usually stay inside. I just know I would be a great indoor dog if I was potty trained or had a doggy door. I have been around chihuahuas and cats but maybe canâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t be trusted around cats. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Ginger II, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. I am a very loving Catahoula/Pit Bull mix. My name is Cookie V! I love attention. I was born with a stubby tail. If I jump at you, I am only wanting you to hold me like a baby over your shoulder.
