Story
Meet Reese! She's a sweet happy girl with a lot of love to give. Reese is good with kids, cats, other dogs, and all people. She loves to play with her giant rope toy and lets out one big 'ruff!' when she needs to go out or is ready to come in. She loves a big dog bed or a nap on the couch. I met Reese on my first day volunteering at the animal shelter. She had been there an entire year sleeping on the cold concrete floor. (She was surrendered by someone who loved her.) Reese is a plot hound. I believe she went unadopted because she looks like a Rottweiler or pit bull. When we met four-year-old Reese, she was skinny and limping. Two years later, she's chubby and happy. When the weather is bad you can tell she hurts a bit, but it doesn't keep her from being happy. (She reminds me of me, lol.) She does have hip issues that are managed with periodic medication. Barney and Odie were at a local shelter  because their owner did not want them and their days there were just too long. They are both so very cute and sweet.  Odie is about 3 years old and only weighs 32 lbs. The shelter said he definitely is a "cuddle bug"   He was, surrendered to a local shelter on 9/4 with his brother, Barney, because they were not wanted. He was in the shelter for 55 days and we saw his adorable face and just had to rescue him. He is 3 to 4 yrs old and weighs 35 lbs. He is a perfect Medium size! He is a tail-wagging confident boy with an inquisitive nature. He is extremely sweet natured and amiable. He craves attention and love when he gets it. He is active and alert, yet not overwhelming with his energy level. He is crazy about treats and though does not know to sit for them yet, he is able to catch treats in his mouth which is pretty cool. Seems like he has never had toys and he doesn't seem to know what they are.  He prefers to hang out with his humans.  Odie would seem a good fit for a laid-back household. He dreams of a home in which he lives inside spending time with family, cuddling, and hanging out together.  Favorite This Pet ##2565793##

Lola was rescued from a local shelter and now her owner has to give her up to no fault of her own.  She is a gorgeous, sweet girl.  She is great with small dogs and seems a bit timid with large dogs but we think she would be fine in time as she gets to know them.  She is obedient and aims to please.  She is about 9 months old, Jan. 2024, and weighs 50 lbs. ##1623586##

Story
Shadow is a 1.5 year old hunting hound she has a huge story before and after her rescue with a very large following. She loves other dogs and seeks them out. She would do best in a home with another well behaved young active dog. She's been known to run but getting better and she currently wears a tracking device on her collar. She opens up pretty quickly but is very scared and shy without another dog . She was emaciated and on the run when rescued. She is now gaining weight and beautiful. Story
Daisy is a love! She has boundless energy and love to give. She is a little over one year old. We do not have the time she will need for more intensive training. She needs a family who has the time to help her get her energy out every day. We have realized we are not able to give enough to her, and we are hoping to find someone who can. We have two other dogs, and she has been just fine with them. She loves to play with them and bark at the trash truck with them. We had a cat until he died, and she was very aware to leave him be. Daisy is crate trained and doesn’t have accidents. She can’t be left to roam the house, or she will chew things up. She is sweet with all ages of people, but is unaware of her body around smaller kids, and can come crashing through knocking littles over. We are sure she could learn, but again, we aren’t the ones to teach her.

Story
Ellie is a wonderful, beautiful and very smart dog. She gets along with other dogs very well, but can be a handful around smaller dogs. She does not know here own size, but dogs her size are just fine. She does not have a bad bone in her body. She loves chewing on her kong, earning her treats. She is leash trained and knows several hand signals. We are still working with her on checking in regularly. She has not been around kids, but cannot imagine that will be an issue with her temperament. Ellie is deaf and has received professional training from On the Ball K9 Training in Denton, TX. She will stay on your side but can get distracted. She will sit and stay when told and is pretty content on her "place" as long as she has some entertainment. She is crate trained and sleeps in a crate. Her favorite activity is going on long walks, but even more, she will play fetch with you until she absolutely wears herself out. And then, once you think she has had enough, she is ready for some more. She loves fetching tennis balls and ropes throws...and will bring them back to you almost all of the time, unless she gets distracted. She will then sit when you tell her and release the toy for another round. Ellie was born mid-2015 and weighs approx 90 pounds. ##628903##
