Story
Petey is a sweet and energetic canine companion, always ready for an adventure. He has a playful spirit and he deserves a home where he can thrive. He has a lot of energy and requires a good amount of physical activity to keep him happy and healthy. Unfortunately, at the age of 75, I recently broke my shoulder, which limits my ability to provide Petey with the exercise he needs. Therefore, I am seeking someone who can provide him with plenty of opportunities to run, play, and explore. In addition to exercise, Petey would thrive in a patient and understanding environment. He is a smart and trainable dog but has a little trouble with impulse control. He gets excited upon meeting people and jumps, not understanding his size. He attends dog day-care where he plays well with other dogs, but is sometimes reactive on leash walks. An owner who is willing to continue positive reinforcement training and has the patience to work with him would be met with unwavering loyalty and devotion.

Story
Meet Kirk! This handsome boy came to us back in December after sitting at a shelter for several months and being overlooked because he needed medical attention. He needed to gain some weight, get some confidence, complete heartworm treatment & have entropion surgery on his eye lids. He is finally thriving after healing from surgery & his heartworm treatment and is just so sweet! He has blossomed into such a wonderful boy that is now searching for a forever home to call his own! Kirk is just about 1 year old, he is very dog friendly but not cat friendly. We believe he is a pointer type mix and just under 60 pounds. He is great with all people he meets, very food motivated and knows a few basic commands. He has been exposed to a crate and walks on leash. Kirk is available for adoption! Please submit an application at HVARS.org if interested in meeting him.A dog like Kirk, with numerous medical needs are typically the dogs we take in here at HVARS, without all of our supporters through donations, adoption & our wellness clinic we would never be able to afford such treatment. *Name: Trixie *Age: 4 years *Current Weight: 65 pounds *Rescued from: Texas (Currently in a foster home in Texas, transport will be arragned once adopted.) *Adoption fee: $375 *Health: Up to date on vaccines, spayed & microchipped *Adoption requirements: Adopter must be 25 or older,  Meet Trixie - This lovely girl that we affectionately call our sweet hippo has an amazing personality.  Trixie is a doll and eager to please.   She is full of love and adores being cuddled! She loves taking naps and eating treats! She follows her foster sister (human) around everywhere!  Trixie is good with other dogs but prefers more laid back pups as the energetic ones she can only tolerate in short doses.  Trixie is just a kind dog ready to share her life with you.  Trixie loves car rides and if you decide on a quick stop at Starbucks, she would love a puppachino.  If you are looking for an affectionate, loving, sweet pup, then look no further Trixie is the pup for you.  To apply to adopt, fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/ FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING All adoption fees are non-refundable If paying by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal there is a set processing fee, generally this fee is under $15 per pet. These processing fees are determined by the form of payment adopters decide to use. By helping with this minimal cost this allows us to save more animals. Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing: LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records. SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. ** MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors. APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. Story
*Name: Eddie *Age: 2 years *Current Weight: 41 lbs *Rescued from: Texas (currently located with foster in Texas, transport will be scheduled once adopted.) *Adoption fee: $475 *Health: up to date on vaccines, Neutered and microchipped *Adoption requirements: adopter must be 25 or older Meet Eddie.  Although we've only known Eddie for a short time, I can see what a loving, bundle of energy he is.  Although he loves running and playing, he can be calm and rest with the other dogs at nap time.  Eddie life has been rough considering he was found laying next to an abandoned house in South Texas unable to move when SNARR rescued him. After much veterinary treatment he has regained a lot of mobility. He is still weak on his left side and he is unable to jump up into the car, or get on furniture, that he's starting to stand up on his back legs. And his handicap does not keep him from running and playing. It is hoped that with time he will fully recover.  Also, Eddie arrived at my house underweight so currently he received double portions.    Eddie gets along with my two dogs nicely. He really enjoys playing with my active Australian cattle dog, they both have similar energy.  Play time is like physical therapy for Eddie, building strength in his legs, and he's loving every minute of it.  Eddie has not pottied in the house even once since coming here, although I do give him lots of potty breaks throughout the day.  He appears to be so young, curious and puppy-like that I feel he is still in training. He has no understanding of commands such as sit, or stay, etc. Though he has learned to lay down when we ask. He does pull hard on leash. A basic obedience course will be in his plan if he isn't adopted soon. Eddie seems like he is a cross between a herding dog and a pointer (due to his spots, and I did observe him pointing out in the backyard). He currently weighs 41 lbs. It was thought he is around 2 years old.  He has nice white teeth, and he plays and acts like a puppy. Needs to have a chew-safe bone (Benebone is what we give him) in his mouth, or a ball a lot of the time when he's not sleeping.   We are enjoying having Eddie here. He is a lot of fun and has a plenty of love to give. He will make a great addition to some lucky family.
