Meet Eddie. Although we've only known Eddie for a short time, I can see what a loving, bundle of energy he is. Although he loves running and playing, he can be calm and rest with the other dogs at nap time.
Eddie life has been rough considering he was found laying next to an abandoned house in South Texas unable to move when SNARR rescued him. After much veterinary treatment he has regained a lot of mobility. He is still weak on his left side and he is unable to jump up into the car, or get on furniture, that he's starting to stand up on his back legs. And his handicap does not keep him from running and playing. It is hoped that with time he will fully recover. Also, Eddie arrived at my house underweight so currently he received double portions.
Eddie gets along with my two dogs nicely. He really enjoys playing with my active Australian cattle dog, they both have similar energy. Play time is like physical therapy for Eddie, building strength in his legs, and he's loving every minute of it.
Eddie has not pottied in the house even once since coming here, although I do give him lots of potty breaks throughout the day. He appears to be so young, curious and puppy-like that I feel he is still in training. He has no understanding of commands such as sit, or stay, etc. Though he has learned to lay down when we ask. He does pull hard on leash. A basic obedience course will be in his plan if he isn't adopted soon.
Eddie seems like he is a cross between a herding dog and a pointer (due to his spots, and I did observe him pointing out in the backyard). He currently weighs 41 lbs. It was thought he is around 2 years old. He has nice white teeth, and he plays and acts like a puppy. Needs to have a chew-safe bone (Benebone is what we give him) in his mouth, or a ball a lot of the time when he's not sleeping.
We are enjoying having Eddie here. He is a lot of fun and has a plenty of love to give. He will make a great addition to some lucky family.

FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING
All adoption fees are non-refundable
If paying by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal there is a set processing fee, generally this fee is under $15 per pet. These processing fees are determined by the form of payment adopters decide to use. By helping with this minimal cost this allows us to save more animals.
Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing:
LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records.
SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. **
MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors.
APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, that means we did NOT receive your application.
