Story
DOBBIE!!! The best way to understand this quirky little guy is to Google search Dobbie from Harry Potter. My son named him and it's THE PERFECT FIT for him and he knows his name! He's wildly entertaining, flits through the house like a hummingbird. His only bad habit is that he's a counter surfer but he's so cute when he does it that he rarely gets in trouble and he's never actually gotten anything. I think he's just curious what's up there. To live this guy you have to know his backstory . We pulled his sister from a rural shelter and she was very well socialized and got adopted within two weeks. The Director of the Shelter reached out and said you know we have his brother? I said no. In comes Dobbie and he is nothing like his sister. Human touch was like nails on a chalkboard for him, he had no idea what a leash was, and he was petrified of all humans. Fast forward four months. He is a perfect gentleman on leash, he loves attending doggy daycare, he is perfectly house trained, he doesn't love the kennel, but he will sleep in his little dog bed right next to his people. and he SEEKS OUT human affection! It has been the most beautiful and rewarding transformation, and he is little nub tail never stops wagging. He becomes very attached to his humans these days. He loves other dogs, and he loves to run and play in the yard. If you couldn't tell by now, he is my Foster and he's with me in Memphis, Tennessee. Once adopted, he will travel on rescue vet transport to his new forever family. They travel each weekend to the northeast, leaving Memphis, Tennessee Friday mornings around 6 AM and making delivery stops along the way all the way up to West Greenwich, Rhode Island. if you would like to make Dobbie a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Also, please note, he is listed as a small dog because he is right at 30 pounds, he's tall and very thin and petite in nature. Transport is an additional $185. PS that last photo was taken through a window, so although he looks dirty, he is jet black, and that was the best picture capturing his ears. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

You will often find Remi in a play yard romping and hopping with his little tail wagging. Remi would do best in a home with an experienced owner, someone that can give him a loving routine and some exercise! If you are that person, you truly will have the best of friends in Remi. *Remi would love to get to know you better! Our behavior specialist can help you get to know him better with three training sessions! Email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information!*Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.April 24, 2024, 4:19 pm

Story
Hi there, my name is Hershey and I am a handsome German Shorthaired Pointer & Terrier mix, about 1 year old, and I weigh 65 lbs. My foster mom found me when I was a puppy roaming around a South Texas mall by myself. Nobody claimed me, so she brought me home and took very nice care of me. Now that I am neutered and have had all my vaccines I am ready to find a forever family. I am a very sweet boy, friendly with everyone young and old, and I get along great with other dogs. We have a kitty cat in the house and although I will bark at him, I have never chased him. I am playful and love squeaky toys, and running zoomies. My foster mom calls me her loveable goofball because sometimes when I’m romping around I’ll trip over my own big paws. I am affectionate but not overly and I enjoy hanging out with my people. I am already housebroken and know how to use a doggy door. I sleep in a doggy bed and even though I am not in love with being in a crate I will tolerate it without a fuss. I only bark to alert, and am practicing some leash walking and doing great. There is a rescue dog transport van heading to Connecticut next week and I will be on board and on my way to meet whoever adopts me! * We encourage you to send us an email with your #1, #2, and #3 choices, and we will be happy to help you find a pup to complete your family! Also, please continue watching our listings as we post new dogs multiple times a week. There is no need to fill out another application, just let us know what other dogs you are interested in as they come up.
