Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 14, 2024, 8:06 am

Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. Story
Meet Otis, a Pointer/Hound mix boy that came from a hoarding case in Middle Tennessee and sweet as any dog you could meet.  The home he was in had over 30 dogs and because of this crowding condition, he was removed from the home with many other dogs.  He is therefore definitely able to exist with other dogs peacefully.  Big and small dogs are what he was living with.  He has come a long way in the care of Thurman's Place, Boarding & Balanced Training and is now up for adoption!  Otis is approximately 4 years old, 45 lbs and is a tripod.  He lost his leg after he was shot for trespassing on the wrong property when he was much younger.  You could never guess this boy has endured such cruelty from people because he loves everyone and is fabulous with kids!  Otis has a very easy going personality and seems to always wear a smile, inviting you to be his new BFF.  He walks great on a leash, is a quick learner and playful!  Otis is also fine with cats! Crate trained and completely vetted and neutered, he is ready to go.  What more could you want in a family friendly dog!?  He would benefit from a fenced yard, but could certainly be happy visiting dog parks or going for nice leisurely walks.  He just wants to belong and be loved by someone.  Could that be you to make his fairy tale ending happen?  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue if you are interested in this special boy. ccrnewengland@gmail.com is where you can ask for an application. Story
Woof (Hi) my name is Pinky and I want to be your best friend... your shadow. I will follow you everywhere! I am a really happy and active young dog; great fun and ready to be the center of attention. I am very smart and will do well with good supervision to learn the rules. I have been going places with my rescuers; I love the car and am VERY social with everyone!! I got to spend a day at a local dog festival and was amazing! I got along with everyone and all dogs, including the little ones that climbed all over me and even tangled up my legs with their leash. I just jumped away from the couple of aggressive dogs I met! I am house and crate trained and I get along well with the the kitty. I am currently in Puerto Rico, but am ready to fly to New York on December 28th to be with my forever family!! Please take me home so I can love you and be loved!! ***When inquiring about one of our beautiful pups, please be sure to include your phone number and check your spam folder... some of our responses are unfortunately being marked as spam. Story
Spot is a very handsome 5 year old pointer/hound mix. Spot was being trained to be an emotional support dog, and although he made great progress... he found squirrels or other dogs on a walk a little too exciting. He is very energetic and will love a hiking and jogging family. He loves his family and gives lots of kisses and snuggles. Spot knows basic commands and is neutered, totally housebroken and up to date on vaccines. He will be very happy to be your one and only! If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

weight 14 lbs age: 14 weeks as of 6/15/2024 adoption donation $699        Monica and Chandler were found  in a rural part of Mississippi but fortunately Wags stepped in to take the pair in. They are both friendly and mellow puppies  who will make a wonderful family dogs. Chandler looks like he has pointer in him, Monica is some kind of black mouth cur mix, not sure but super cute!      Both pups attach quickly  to their person and will follow you everywhere. They  live  with several other dogs and kids in their northeast foster home and have settled in beautifully.   Chandler  is very friendly and loves to play with other dogs. He is very cuddly and doing great with House training. Chandler has had his  puppy shots, is microchipped, will be neutered in the northeast when he  is older, Wags will pay for her spay at one of the clinics we use or reimburse what we pay if an adopter decides to use their own vet. Like any puppy Chandler  needs someone who will be around for him  and give hi,  the structure and training he needs to grow up to be the very good boy  we know she can be. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jack M and his family come to rescue from Texas. He is a pup to Bailey, and is thought to be a Heeler/Pointer mix. He was born in June 2018. Jack M did have an unfortunate incident during birth - his toes were torn off--but that doesn't bother Jack M from being fully mobile as he loves to race around with his foster siblings! He is a sweet and playful boy! Jack M is fearful of new people, dogs and situations and needs a lot of space as he doesn't like to feel closed in.  It takes him some time to adjust and warm up to new things in his life.  For that reason, a quiet, adult only home away from the hustle and bustle of a city is best for Jack M.  If you are that special someone who can open their heart to Jack M and continue to work with him on realizing that the world and people can be good, please apply online to adopt Jack M at http://www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org     RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption.   Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 14, 2024, 10:00 am

Story
This is Cooper. He and his sweet sister, Katie have been tossed around from rescue to rescue and living in kennels for over a year! First springer rescue got them and left them in a kennel for months before deciding they weren't springers and then someone else stepped up but they stayed in a kennel again. We have had them now and are working with them. They are so sweet and happy! Cooper walks well on a leash and is pretty close to house trained. He is neutered, UTD on all vaccines and is HW neg. We are so desperate to find these babies a loving home to live out their lives in that we are cutting the adoption fee in half but they must stay together. Please consider them! You will not regret it. Please email omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our info and application. They are used to being outside a lot so a fenced yard is a requirement.

Story
This rare rescue offering is called Champ and he is a 1 year old, 42 pound Wirehair Pointer Griffon from what we have researched in his looks.  He showed  up on a rural country farm in Tennessee and he was not neutered nor microchipped.  This friendly, loveable goofball is a joy to have around.  He has energy to burn of course and he adores playing with his tennis ball and running in the fenced yard.  He loves all dogs of all sizes and we feel he would be friends with cats too since he showed no interest in the one cat that he has met.  Someone is missing a great dog but they never responded to the posts on FB or in the local community lost and found pages. His favorite things to do is to cuddle with his humans, play fetch with his ball and to run zoomies in the fenced yard. He will go in a crate for a short but not extended amount of time. He knows some commands but is not leash trained as the people found him are more senior and allow him to just run in the fenced yard. He does have anxiety when left alone for too much time so we are looking for a family who has someone at home perhaps working remote or a stay at home parent who he can hang out with.   He is ready for a new chapter in his life and will require a fenced yard and someone that is athletic and ready to match his youthful Griffon energy.  If you are interested in adopting please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 14, 2024, 8:06 am
