Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Easy family dog Piston is a great dog. He loves to love on people of all ages and he really enjoys other dogs. His ideal home will have space for him to run or an adult who would take to parks to run. He’s very chill in the house. Fully potty trained and stays in a crate during the day. Sleeps all night long next to our bed and knows how to signal when he needs to be let out for a potty break. Piston is a great dog. He knows how to sit, lay and give paw. Piston's mom became ill and is no longer able to care for him.  We really want to find a home for this easy peasy pup.   Age: 2.5 years Weight: 45 lbs Temperament: Gets along with all people and dogs.  Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, obedience-trained Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:     To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.March 15, 2025, 7:09 pm

Story
Meet Roman – A Gentle Giant with a Puppy Heart! At 7 years old, Roman may technically be a senior, but don’t let that fool you, he’s bursting with life, love, and playfulness! This joyful boy is what we call a unicorn dog: rare, wonderful, and truly one of a kind.Roman is incredibly dog-friendly and is comfortable with dogs of all sizes, genders, and breeds. He’s also kid-friendly and toddler-approved, making him a dream for families. He adores people and is happiest when he’s getting belly rubs or giving out his famous big-dog hugs. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and completely non-destructive when left out. He’ll often be found peacefully lying in front of the door, watching the world go by. Despite his size, he’s gentle and calm, and walks beautifully on a leash—no lunging or pulling.Roman is playful, too! He loves sticks, balls, and toys, and is always up for a walk or a game of fetch. He runs like a puppy and jumps for joy—literally. He integrated seamlessly into his foster home and has proven to be the perfect companion.Looking for a loving, easygoing, and all-around amazing dog? Roman is your guy. With him, you get loyalty, love, and the best snuggles a dog can give.

Story
Dougie found us as a small puppy in rural NC and we took him in. He is 16 months old and we think he just about full grown now at about 69 pounds. He is a sweet boy who loves to run and play. He has never met another dog or person he does not like and want to be friends with. He is up to date on vaccinations, house-trained, crate-trained and has had some basic training instruction. We have two other, older dogs and a third is a little too much for us. We are patiently waiting to find the right home for Dougie where he will be loved and cared for. His energy level might be a little much for toddlers at this point in his development, but would be great with older (school-age) kids.
