DOB:  7/18/23                        Current Weight(as of 11/22/23):  18.4 Lbs Adoption Fee: $250 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness.  Jerry is a very good boy. He loves people and other dogs! We are working on potty training and he is doing very well, and he sleeps all night in the kennel. He loves playing with toys especially any that squeak! He will walk on a leash right next to you and is just happy to be by your side! All he needs now is a home and lots of love Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you're looking for a sweetheart of a companion, Opal is your gal! Opal is a beautiful pointer mix, about 6 years old and medium-sized at 60 pounds. She adores children, bonds easily with women, and loves to play. She's a happy dog with a beautiful smile! Opal enjoys chasing balls and zooming around the yard, and will need a fenced yard in order to enjoy her daily exercise. She also loves going for walks! She does well on a leash and on car rides. Indoors Opal is a calm and happy house companion with great manners and is fully house-trained and doggie door trained. At night she will sleep in her dog bed or join you in your bed if you invite her. She can be on the shy side in new situations, but will quickly warm up. She will be happy in a house either with or without other dogs and is very loving and devoted to her people. When she visited a working farm, she was not reactive to cats, goats, pigs, or chickens. Hi, I'm Cocoa! I'm a sweet lady. I came to the shelter with my 3 babies and we were all malnourished, dehydrated, and just in really rough shape. The shelter was able to get us all cleaned up and we look great now! I look to be about 2 years old and some sort of hound. The shelter guessed me to be a Pointer/Vizsla mix but that's just based on appearance.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas at least monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35).
