Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left with the dog. I WILL BE AT THE ADOPTION EVENT AT THE PETSMART IN FAIRFAX ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13TH, FROM 12 TO 2PM. STOP BY TO SAY HELLO! Current Location: Strasburg, VA Hello, my name is Dottie! I'm thought to be a Pointer mix, about 2 years old and currently weigh about 40 pounds. I'm a submissive gal with a sweet temperament and do very well with the people and dogs I've met. I love, love, love to snuggle and like nothing better than to sit next to my people and get lots of attention and hugs. I'm also house trained and walk well on the leash. I just weaned my litter of pups and will be spayed on 12/1. I'm heartworm positive and will receive treatment on 12/15 and can go home with my new family in time to celebrate the new year. I am microchipped, current on my vaccines and monthly preventives, and will be spayed and have received heartworm treatment prior to adoption. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.

Hi! My name is Biscuit, and I’m on the hunt for my forever home! I was picked up by Animal Control as a very tiny pup and taken to a scary place called a shelter. Because I needed to be bottle-fed, a small local rescue stepped in to help me. Once I was big enough to eat on my own, I went into something called a “Dog Prison Program,” where I got to meet all kinds of people who helped me start learning good manners.A volunteer from that program contacted BCAA to help me find my forever family — and here I am! I appear to be a 4 month old pointer mix and currently weigh around 20 lbs. I’ll likely grow into a medium-sized adult, around 45–55 lbs.I’m a happy, playful puppy who loves everyone I meet. I’m great with kids, love other dogs, and I’m already good on leash!
