Story
Meet Rubix - a lovable, playful one-year-old mixed breed weighing 59 lbs. Rescued from NYCACC, his past remains a mystery, but we believe he once had a special boy in his life whom he dearly misses. He’s particularly drawn to his teenage foster brother, showcasing the affectionate bond he can form with older kids. One thing is for sure and his foster family can attest to this: he makes a wonderful companion. Known for his bright personality, Rubix is an absolute sweetheart and so smart with an impressive command of tricks. He responds to commands like sit, down, settle, wait, search, drop it, and is a jokester who can even play dead! He’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go outside (and boy does he love playing outdoors). Whether he’s cuddling up for a nap like a full-body pillow with the nearest human or racing around the yard, Rubix brings joy to everyone around him. At the heart of it all, he simply just loves to be loved. This sweet boy is perfect for a family with older kids or empty nesters who can appreciate his energy and love for play. He adores other dogs and enjoys playing with them, though he may need an active family familiar with larger breeds (though in his head, he thinks he's a little guy not aware of his size). Rubix is the quintessential pup who loves toys and is always ready for adventure—whether it’s hiking, beach days, or jogging alongside you. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who thrives on love and play, Rubix is your guy! Let’s give him the fresh start he’s been dreaming of. Apply today to adopt Rubix at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application using a computer or laptop. Together, we can make a difference for this amazing pup. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Birthdate:  02/24/2017Breed: One of a kindWeight:   56 lbsCheck out my Video: Digging up the good stuff!Meet Liam – A Gentle Soul with a Heart Full of Love Liam hasn’t always had the easiest start. When he was rescued, he was malnourished and weak—but thanks to some incredible people in Georgia, this brave boy got his second chance. Now, Liam is thriving, and he’s ready to find the loving home he’s always deserved. This sweet, sensitive guy is the full package: a total gentleman on leash, a connoisseur of quiet walks, and a fan of wading into the stream to blow little bubbles in the water (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds). What really melts hearts, though, is how he checks in during walks—stopping just to look at you with those soulful eyes, offer a gentle boop or kiss, and flash his charming little chicklet teeth.Beneath Liam's soft exterior is a kind-hearted, affectionate pup who just wants to feel safe and loved. He’s looking for someone who understands that the best relationships are built on trust, patience, and a whole lot of love.Could your home be the soft place Liam has been waiting to land?A note from Liam's Rescue Buddy: "Liam is the friend everyone needs in their life. He is a fantastic listener, and his gratitude for time spent with him is palpable. While his communication is wordless, it's easy to feel his love and comfort, and it's difficult not to feel a sense of calm and peace when walking or snuggling him!" Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36924/generic. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.November 26, 2025, 12:43 am

Story
Greetings future family! My name is Prince — and while I may not come from a grand castle, I carry the heart of royalty and the spirit of a survivor. At one year old and 56 pounds, I’m full of life and love. My tale begins not in luxury, but in hardship. My mother, a stray of unmatched resilience, made her home outside a business, protecting me with the strength of a queen. Kind rescuers came for us but fate was cruel and they found my mother had been struck by a car before help could reach her. She passed and I was left behind, lost and wailing, my tiny world shattered. I didn’t know what to do without her. But I was found, wrapped in gentle arms, and given a second chance at life. Now, I stand tall — a young king ready to reign in the warmth of a forever home. I may be blind in one eye, but don’t let that fool you — it doesn’t stop me from exploring my kingdom with curiosity and joy. I am playful, loyal, and have a heart as big as a palace courtyard. I’ve spent time with other dogs (who I adore) and children too but I’d prefer a kingdom without cats or small children due to my size and strength. In preparation for my royal duties, I’ve completed professional training and now hold myself with all the grace and charm of a well-mannered noble. I walk splendidly on leash, keep my quarters clean as I am house-trained and crate-trained, and follow commands like “sit,” “down,” “heel,” and “stay” until I’m released — quite the proper gentleman, if I may say so. My adoption even includes five private lessons with my royal trainer (in person in Sylvania, GA or online), plus lifelong support via phone or message, because every ruler deserves wise counsel. I am neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and more than ready to claim my throne — not in a castle, but in a cozy home filled with love. My adoption fee is $415, a small tribute for a lifetime of loyalty, protection, and cuddles from your very own Prince. So, if you seek a noble companion with a soft heart, strong spirit, and a royal snuggle game, look no further. I await my coronation — not with gold or jewels, but with a collar, a family, and a home. Apply to adopt me, PRINCE LIZMAN, at EHRDOGS.ORG. April 25, 2025, 12:12 am

Story
Ruff start? Yes. Ruff round the edges? Sure. Hidden gem ready to be discovered? 100%.  Cooper is a member of Eleventh Hour Rescue’s Diamond in the Ruff Program:  a sweet, playful dog who needs a little polishing, but we know his brilliance  will shine through with patience, love, a little training, and a home of his own. In return for your willingness to see Cooper’s potential and change his story,  and thanks to a private donor, COOPER'S ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN FULLY SPONSORED! All you need to provide is the love and patience to help him sparkle. COPPER'S STORY: Cooper is currently 2 years old and 42 lbs.  He was found abandoned and skinny on the side of the road, with a scar on his neck from an embedded collar. While it appears Cooper hasn't had the best life, you would never know it from his appreciative nature and friendly disposition! Cooper loves to "hug" his people for affection, and is a very cuddly dog. He has a bunch of energy and would make a fantastic companion for an active owner. Cooper would be best as an only dog for now until he has time to decompress into a home.  Cooper loves all people but since he is so energetic, older or considerate kids would be a better fit for this sweet boy.  He is also house trained and crate trained.  Cooper is fully vaccinated, chipped, and neutered. Story
Woof (Hi)... My name is Lita! I am an adorable little girl that packs a big punch! I am super athletic; I run, leap and bounce everywhere I go. I am super fast and definitely need someplace that I can safely run around. I am house trained and am ok with living in small spaces, like an apartment, as long as you take me somewhere to play! I love to play with toys - I will collect them all, while I am running around. I am also very sweet, but shy at first. Once we get to know each other, I will be your best friend! I am good with other dogs - even great big ones! I am getting pretty good with the house cat here, too! Please take me home, so I can love you, and be loved! I am currently living in Puerto Rico, but there are options for me to fly to the states, and my adoption fee covers the necessary tests and certificate for travel. ***When inquiring about one of our beautiful pups, please be sure to include your phone number.
