Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 21, 2024, 9:44 pm

Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. Story
Meet Otis, a Pointer/Hound mix boy that came from a hoarding case in Middle Tennessee and sweet as any dog you could meet.  The home he was in had over 30 dogs and because of this crowding condition, he was removed from the home with many other dogs.  He is therefore definitely able to exist with other dogs peacefully.  Big and small dogs are what he was living with.  He has come a long way in the care of Thurman's Place, Boarding & Balanced Training and is now up for adoption!  Otis is approximately 4 years old, 45 lbs and is a tripod.  He lost his leg after he was shot for trespassing on the wrong property when he was much younger.  You could never guess this boy has endured such cruelty from people because he loves everyone and is fabulous with kids!  Otis has a very easy going personality and seems to always wear a smile, inviting you to be his new BFF.  He walks great on a leash, is a quick learner and playful!  Otis is also fine with cats! Crate trained and completely vetted and neutered, he is ready to go.  What more could you want in a family friendly dog!?  He would benefit from a fenced yard, but could certainly be happy visiting dog parks or going for nice leisurely walks.  He just wants to belong and be loved by someone.  Could that be you to make his fairy tale ending happen?  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue if you are interested in this special boy. ccrnewengland@gmail.com is where you can ask for an application. Please contact foster at margiejlynch1102@gmail.comVery timid and shy, but slowly gaining some confidence. Super dog friendly. Cat friendly. Loves people. Great in the car but tries to ride shotgunCrate trained, and potty trained but must be consistent. Nondestructive when left out, she just wants to sleep Thinks she’s a lap dog. She’s incredibly sweet, loves being hugged and petted, and having her ears rubbedWe’re working on her confidence, being outside is new to her She walks very slowly because she’s scared, but lights up when she sees other dogs.Right now she needs a quiet environment and is still decompressing. But she wanders around the house with resident dog and resident cat with no problem. She has so much potential!!

Story
Hello, my name is Lola! I am an English Pointer born 7/18/22. I came to Richardson rescue because my owner died and there was no one to take care of me and my siblings.  I am lovable and want to learn to live with my forever pack. I do need a little work  walking on a leash, and house manners, but I am smart and eager to learn. It is unknown if I have ever lived in a home with a family before, but that is my dream. I will be affectionate and loyal in return, if only someone would give me a chance. I enjoy doggy ice cream, playing with chew toys, and playing with my sister. I get along well with the dogs here at the rescue. I can run like the breeze! I have been brought up to date on all vaccines and medical, Spayed Micro chipped.  If you could please go to Richardsonrescue.org and fill out an adoption application, it would be wonderful  to find someone to love me.        - Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 21, 2024, 4:17 pm
