Story
With his unforgettable markings and a heart full of puppy love, this sweet boy is ready to find his forever family — meet Amos! This handsome possible Pointer/Hound mix is impossible to miss, with a striking black coat, a sweet white triangle marking on the top of his head, and the cutest grey-freckled nose and matching grey-freckled paws — seriously, to die for! Like most puppies his age, Amos is more of a calm pup, regal in his mannerism and you can already tell he is going to be extremely smart. He doesn't just bounce first into the unknowns, he sits back and watches new territory and things as if you can see the wheels turning, deep thinking, before approaching new objects etc... We would call him intelligent and a deep thinker if we were giving him a label although he is a baby, and does have that puppy play energy he just isn't bounce off the walls and jump right into danger type puppy. He's calm, cool and collective.. :) Amos is young and will adjust quickly to a home with older kids, cats, and other dogs making him a wonderful fit for a busy household. Since Amos is still just a baby, he isnt potty or crate trained yet, but hes ready and willing to learn! With some patience and consistency, this smart pup is sure to pick things up quickly. The first step is completing our application. Once received, well review it to see if youre family is a match for this little one! If youre ready for a lifetime of love, apply today Age: Estimated DOB 5/30/26 Weight: Growing puppy Expected Size: Unknown Breed: Possible Pointer/Hound mix? Energy Level: Puppy energy, calm and chill Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes Training: Not yet potty or crate trained; eager to learn Special Traits: Black coat with a white triangle marking on his head and grey-freckled nose and paws Ideal Home: A family willing to work on basic training and provide lots of love and patience looking for a FOREVER family member. We prefer kids over 10 however apps with younger children in the home are accepted as long as you have a history of having dogs around your children and a vet reference. p.s this has nothing to do with Amos, he is a baby and of no danger to anything or anyone right now however people with babies and real small children tend to have higher return rates and we are not into trial adoptions especially those without past experience with pups and dogs. Breed is an educated guess based on appearance and characteristics.

Story
Doug is a young, handsome adult neutered Pointer who came to us from a high-kill shelter downstate, where he was hoping for a second chance at finding a loving forever home. When Doug arrived, he was quite skinny, but with good food and care, he has filled out into a happy, healthy boy. This sweet, silly pup absolutely loves to point! He points at anything and everything — mice, raccoons, possums, and whatever else catches his eye. With his natural instincts and enthusiasm, Doug would be a wonderful candidate for field trial work. Whether hes showing off his pointing skills or just being his goofy self, Doug is sure to bring plenty of joy and laughter to his future family. Please contact Jan at 847-790-6458 for more information about Doug.

Story
Billie is an adorable young mix, thought to be a Pointer/Aussie/Lab mix. She’s about 44 lbs, a bit on the lean side currently. And estimated at 4 years old. Billie joined us from a very horrible neglectful situation. She along with eight other dogs was rescued from a trailer, after the owner of the trailer was taken to a mental health facility. All dogs were starved; two were starved to death. Billie was one of the survivors, but barely so. She was skin and bones when joining our rescue program….and a look of hopelessness filled her eyes. During the last several weeks that Billie has been in her BAARK foster home, she has made notable progress, gaining weight, looking better, feeling more confident, and showing us some pep in her step! She’s even starting to play with other dogs. An ideal home and family for Billie is one who can understand her past and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build her confidence, and blossom into a loving, playful girl that she deserves to be. Good nutrition is very important given her past. Billie obviously is good with other dogs but the preferred home for Billie would be as an only dog, or with another calm friendly dog. She’d love a secure fenced yard where she could run, play, and exercise. She is scared of quick movements at this time, so smaller children would likely be overwhelming to her; older children should be fine. If you would like to consider Billie for a member of your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in the NW Suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to our area.

Story
Jewel EST DOB 4/20/26 Jewel is exactly what her name suggests, a true little gem. She has the sweetest, most loving personality and a gentle spirit that wins hearts almost instantly. Affectionate, kind, and incredibly endearing, Jewel has a calm, happy presence that makes everyone who meets her fall in love. She enjoys playing with her siblings and exploring the world around her, but she's just as content curling up beside you for cuddles and affection. Jewel has that wonderful balance of curiosity and gentleness, making her a joy to be around. While she's still very much a playful puppy, she already has a naturally sweet disposition that shines through in everything she does. Weight: Growing pup (expected medium size) Energy Level: Moderate – playful, curious, and well-balanced with a naturally gentle personality. Personality & Temperament: Sweet, affectionate, gentle, loving, curious, and friendly. Jewel has a kind heart and a soft, endearing personality that makes her an easy puppy to adore. She loves being around people, enjoys attention, and has a wonderful combination of playful puppy energy and quiet affection. She has the type of personality that makes an amazing lifelong family companion. Compatibility: One of the biggest advantages of adopting a puppy at this age is that they are still developing their personalities and learning about the world around them. With proper guidance, socialization, and positive experiences, they grow into well-adjusted companions who adapt beautifully to a variety of homes, people, children, and other animals. Puppies this young are generally compatible with dogs, cats, and children because they are still in a critical stage of development and are eager to learn. At this age, they're essentially a blank slate, making it the ideal time to introduce them to new experiences and help shape them into confident, well-rounded adults. The greater consideration is ensuring resident pets are accepting of a young puppy and that children understand how to gently and respectfully interact with one. As with any new pet, introductions should always be gradual and supervised to help everyone adjust safely and successfully. Training & Skills: Jewel is still a young puppy and will need continued work with house manners, leash training, crate training, and basic obedience. Like all puppies, she'll thrive with consistency, positive reinforcement, and daily routines. This is the perfect age to build a strong foundation and help her become a confident, well-mannered adult. Special Skills: Professional cuddle expert and heart thief. Jewel has a special way of making people feel loved and has the kind of gentle personality that creates strong, lasting bonds with her family. Adoption Requirements (if applicable): Jewel will need a family committed to providing continued training, socialization, exercise, and plenty of love as she grows. A securely fenced yard is preferred but not required, provided her family can meet her physical and mental enrichment needs. Fun Facts / Quirks: Jewel has a way of making everyone she meets feel special. Whether she's gently asking for affection, happily following you around, or snuggling up after playtime, she reminds you that sometimes the sweetest moments are the simplest ones. Her loving personality is truly her greatest treasure. If you're looking for a puppy with a heart as beautiful as her name, Jewel is ready to bring a lifetime of love, loyalty, and happiness to her forever family. Jewel is working hard on potty training at her foster home. Shes enjoys car rides and using her sniffer, no interesting smell is safe from this girl! 👉 Apply today: Adoption Application Can Be Found Under the Forms Tab on our website
