Story
𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑴𝒖𝒕𝒕: 🌿 𝕎𝕚𝕝𝕝𝕠𝕨 🌿🐾 Willow’s story is a poignant one. She was once the cherished companion of a loving owner who, heartbreakingly, passed away. Afterward, she was placed with a family member who wasn’t able—or willing—to provide the care she needed. Eventually, Willow was surrendered to the humane society. Through every twist in her journey, she has remained incredibly sweet, resilient, and full of love. Now, she’s finally getting the second chance she so deserves. Willow is a friendly and affectionate girl who gets along well with people and other dogs. While her experience with cats is unknown, her gentle nature suggests she’d do just fine with the right introductions. She’s already potty trained, crate trained, and has wonderful home manners—this girl knows how to be a great house dog! 🏡✨ She was clearly someone’s beloved companion, and she’s ready to fill that role again. If you're looking for a loyal, easygoing, and loving dog who’s past the chaos of puppyhood but still full of playful energy, Willow could be your perfect match. She absolutely adores toys—every single one—and can’t choose a favorite. Willow is energetic and loves to run, but she settles down beautifully after some playtime. That said, she’s definitely a runner, so she needs to be on a leash when outdoors. With the right home, she’ll thrive as the joyful, devoted companion she was always meant to be. Story
Billie is an adorable young mix, thought to be a Pointer/Aussie/Lab mix. She’s about 44 lbs, a bit on the lean side currently. And estimated at 4 years old. Billie joined us from a very horrible neglectful situation. She along with eight other dogs was rescued from a trailer, after the owner of the trailer was taken to a mental health facility. All dogs were starved; two were starved to death. Billie was one of the survivors, but barely so. She was skin and bones when joining our rescue program….and a look of hopelessness filled her eyes. During the last several weeks that Billie has been in her BAARK foster home, she has made notable progress, gaining weight, looking better, feeling more confident, and showing us some pep in her step! She’s even starting to play with other dogs. An ideal home and family for Billie is one who can understand her past and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build her confidence, and blossom into a loving, playful girl that she deserves to be. Good nutrition is very important given her past. Billie obviously is good with other dogs but the preferred home for Billie would be as an only dog, or with another calm friendly dog. She’d love a secure fenced yard where she could run, play, and exercise. She is scared of quick movements at this time, so smaller children would likely be overwhelming to her; older children should be fine. If you would like to consider Billie for a member of your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in the NW Suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to our area.
