Story
This playful pup is ready to discover the world alongside a loving family of her own, meet Ivy! Ivy has lots of potential to grow into a fun, devoted family dog. She is dog and child friendly. At this young age, Ivy is still learning about the world, and her personality will continue to develop as she grows. Her new family will have the opportunity to introduce her to new experiences, teach her good manners, and help shape the wonderful dog she becomes. Like most puppies this age, Ivy hasn’t mastered potty or crate training yet, and that’s perfectly normal! She’s just beginning her training journey. Young puppies are little sponges, and with patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and a good routine, Ivy should have every opportunity to catch on quickly. Right now, Ivy’s most important job is simply being a puppy: play hard, investigate everything, learn something new, sneak in some cuddles, nap, and repeat. Her future family gets the fun of watching this sweet little puppy discover everything that comes with being someone’s beloved family dog. The first step toward adopting Ivy is completing our application. Once received, we’ll review it to see if you and this pup may be a good match! If you’re ready for a lifetime of love (and a little puppy mischief along the way), apply today at www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org! Age: Estimated DOB 4/30/26 Weight: Growing puppy Expected Size: Medium/Large Breed: Possible Pointer/Lab mix Energy Level: Puppy energy Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Unknown/not yet exposed Kid Friendly: Yes Training: Just beginning — young and ready to learn! Special Traits: Curious, social, playful, and full of puppy potential Ideal Home: A loving family ready to provide patience, training, playtime, adventures, and plenty of affection Breed is an educated guess based on appearance and characteristics. Story
Billie is an adorable young mix, thought to be a Pointer/Aussie/Lab mix. She’s about 44 lbs, a bit on the lean side currently. And estimated at 4 years old. Billie joined us from a very horrible neglectful situation. She along with eight other dogs was rescued from a trailer, after the owner of the trailer was taken to a mental health facility. All dogs were starved; two were starved to death. Billie was one of the survivors, but barely so. She was skin and bones when joining our rescue program….and a look of hopelessness filled her eyes. During the last several weeks that Billie has been in her BAARK foster home, she has made notable progress, gaining weight, looking better, feeling more confident, and showing us some pep in her step! She’s even starting to play with other dogs. An ideal home and family for Billie is one who can understand her past and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build her confidence, and blossom into a loving, playful girl that she deserves to be. Good nutrition is very important given her past. Billie obviously is good with other dogs but the preferred home for Billie would be as an only dog, or with another calm friendly dog. She’d love a secure fenced yard where she could run, play, and exercise. She is scared of quick movements at this time, so smaller children would likely be overwhelming to her; older children should be fine. If you would like to consider Billie for a member of your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in the NW Suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to our area.
