Born: June 26, 2019 I am 28lbs and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $500 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Poppy is an adorable senior Pomeranian Mix, estimated to be 11.5 years old and 11.5 lbs. He’s a very cute, sweet dog but he is a little old man who just likes to hang out with his favorite human(s). he’s not a cuddly lap dog, and is not especially playful pup. His favorite activities are napping and watching what’s going on around him…without necessarily engaging in any activities. He’s more of an observer vs a participant! Poppy would sure love to be an only dog, but, would do ok with another quiet senior who would not bother him with play or cuddling. He’s looking for a place to just chill and hang out in his twilight years, not being bothered by lots of people or by children. Poppy is in overall good health but he appears to have poor eyesight. He just had extensive dental work. He is of course neutered and microchipped and is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on year-round heartworm prevention. Hello, my name is Ruby, and I am about 2 years old. As you can tell by my pictures, I'm a cutie. I'm a quiet girl and like to lay by your feet. I guess you stay I'm stubborn at times (hello my breeding?) so if I don't like to do something I put on the brakes and I will talk back to you. I guess you can also say I need a Leader or Coach to teach me that I'm not in charge - you are. That's what my foster Mom is doing for me right now. I'm in a foster home with other dogs & cats and I am ok with them. The big dogs at first, I was nervous. I hid under a chair, but my foster Mom would assure me I am ok. I don't like when other dogs or even people get in my face. Sure, my face is adorable but who likes to have someone right in their face? Not me. So, I have learned that I am ok when another dog does it and we both get corrected. If I could pick my perfect home, it would have many one other dog who I can learn from. That's what I'm also learning in my foster home. I'm learning a routine of when we go outside, when we get our food (more on that) and when it's time to go to bed. I'm house trained but I don't tell you have I have to go outside to do my business. I love going for car rides but sometimes I need help being picked up. For this, my foster Mom scoops me up under my belly. See, my belly is quite big. Remember the note on food - well I like food! I'm not aggressive but in my last home I got fed a lot and I am quite chubby. Actually, the Vet said I'm obese. I don't understand that word but my foster Mom does so she limits me on how much I can eat. I would benefit from being walked every day and I do walk well on my leash. I weigh 20#s and vet said I should be around 9-12#s. My new family has a challenge! You need to lose weight? We can be fitness partners. I'm a young gal that sadly was not told the word NO. So, when I don't want to do something, I will talk back to you. I need someone who can be my Leader or Coach and correct me with my bad behaviors. I like to please people and love to be told I'm a good girl. My chubby little body will waddle and wiggle because I love praise! I might do well in an apartment dwelling but not sure about kids. Remember the note on me liking things in my face? Well, little kids have fingers that can go in my face. Maybe you can have kids that visit and I'm quite fine hanging out in another room on my doggie bed or a couch. So, what do you think? Looking for a walking buddy? Tina is not your normal dog yet. She is learning. Learning the leash. Learning to trust. Tina will need a quiet, loving, slow moving environment to flourish. ARF requests no children. Grapefruit came to Almost Home Foundation back in December. She was part of the group of 60+ Pomeranians seized from a backyard breeder. She came to Almost Home Foundation pregnant and had her pups shortly after arriving. Being pregnant and having babies is all Grapefruit knew prior to joining AHF. She is 2 years old and is slowly learning how to just be a dog but is still very cautious of people. She loves to go on walks and to play with her foster siblings. She will occasionally bark at the cats in her foster home, but other than that, Grapefruit doesn't really care about them. She is going to need someone very patient that understands that it is going to take time for Grapefruit to adjust to her forever home. Grapefruit needs another dog for company and a fenced in yard.
