Poppy is an adorable senior Pomeranian Mix, estimated to be 11.5 years old and 11.5 lbs. He’s a very cute, sweet dog but he is a little old man who just likes to hang out with his favorite human(s). he’s not a cuddly lap dog, and is not especially playful pup. His favorite activities are napping and watching what’s going on around him…without necessarily engaging in any activities. He’s more of an observer vs a participant! Poppy would sure love to be an only dog, but, would do ok with another quiet senior who would not bother him with play or cuddling. He’s looking for a place to just chill and hang out in his twilight years, not being bothered by lots of people or by children. Poppy is in overall good health but he appears to have poor eyesight. He just had extensive dental work. He is of course neutered and microchipped and is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on year-round heartworm prevention. Grapefruit came to Almost Home Foundation back in December. She was part of the group of 60+ Pomeranians seized from a backyard breeder. She came to Almost Home Foundation pregnant and had her pups shortly after arriving. Being pregnant and having babies is all Grapefruit knew prior to joining AHF. She is 2 years old and is slowly learning how to just be a dog but is still very cautious of people. She loves to go on walks and to play with her foster siblings. She will occasionally bark at the cats in her foster home, but other than that, Grapefruit doesn't really care about them. She is going to need someone very patient that understands that it is going to take time for Grapefruit to adjust to her forever home. Grapefruit needs another dog for company and a fenced in yard. Also, no small children in the home.This is a Pay It Forward dog. This means the adoption donation of $650 will help to save another pup needing rescue and vetting. Resses came from the hoarding case of poms. He joined AHF as a young puppy and was adopted quite quickly. He was recently returned for showing resource guarding issues. His foster mom is helping him work through his issues. His new family will need to be dedicated to continue training. He loves other dogs and has loads of energy. He plays with his foster siblings all day long. His foster siblings have been helping him learn that he doesn't need to guard his food bowls/toys, but he does still have issues. Have you ever met a pomeranian that loves to swim? Cause this boy is obsessed. He will swim in any water he finds, including his water bowl. He is about 16 pounds and is basically done growing. Are you ready to add the sweetest and most loving boy to your family? Meet Simon. Simon is a Pomeranian mix, and weighs in at about 25 pounds. He is about 8 months old. He has been with a loving foster family in Chicago for several months and is ready for his forever home. Simon has the sweetest disposition--he loves kids and other dogs in the home. His human foster siblings love singing with him, dancing with him, and cuddling him. He is so attuned with his family that he knows to be gentle around human babies. He loves to play--fetch, tennis balls, bones, kongs, a good stick--anything you've got! He has a lot of energy, which has been making city life in the Chicago Wrigleyville neighborhood a bit tough, and he deserves a yard or a running buddy if he lives in a smaller space! He is very good at learning directions and never reacts negatively or aggressively. Simon can be a bit shy with meeting new people and can "alarm bark" with other dogs. However, Simon has done great in daycare in the big play rooms--with small and big breed dogs. He has had training already and knows sit, down and leave it (although he is still working on that one). He is super food motivated and his trainer thinks he would do great at agility if his family is interested in that type of work! He is pad trained, and we believe he will quickly train to go outside in a yard. Simon needs to be neutered and is included at our rescue vet and probably will help him calm down.
