Grapefruit came to Almost Home Foundation back in December. She was part of the group of 60+ Pomeranians seized from a backyard breeder. She came to Almost Home Foundation pregnant and had her pups shortly after arriving. Being pregnant and having babies is all Grapefruit knew prior to joining AHF. She is 2 years old and is slowly learning how to just be a dog but is still very cautious of people. She loves to go on walks and to play with her foster siblings. She will occasionally bark at the cats in her foster home, but other than that, Grapefruit doesn't really care about them. She is going to need someone very patient that understands that it is going to take time for Grapefruit to adjust to her forever home. Grapefruit needs another dog for company and a fenced in yard. Resses came from the hoarding case of poms. He joined AHF as a young puppy and was adopted quite quickly. He was recently returned for showing resource guarding issues. His foster mom is helping him work through his issues. His new family will need to be dedicated to continue training. He loves other dogs and has loads of energy. He plays with his foster siblings all day long. His foster siblings have been helping him learn that he doesn't need to guard his food bowls/toys, but he does still have issues. Have you ever met a pomeranian that loves to swim? Cause this boy is obsessed. He will swim in any water he finds, including his water bowl. He is about 16 pounds and is basically done growing. Tina came to ARF with her puppies. Due to unforeseen medical issues her pups did not survive. Tina has been in foster care long enough to learn love and is gaining trust everyday. Tina is not your normal dog yet. She is learning. Learning the leash. Learning to trust. Tina will need a quiet, loving, slow moving environment to flourish. ARF requests no children. And Tina will require another dog in the home to help her continue to learn and trust. Tina is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, paper trained, and spayed. This dog's new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Introducing DAISY, a 5-6 month old, Pomeranian/Cockapoo mix weighing currently 15 pounds. Daisy is an exuberant puppy who is a spunky and very sweet girl. She loves people of all ages and does great with dogs of all sizes; she is currently in a foster home with a couple smaller dogs as well as two bully mixes. Daisy has a lot of puppy energy! She loves to play with several of the other dogs who will “rough house” with her. Her other hobbies include exploring the backyard and chewing her bones and toys. Sweet Daisy is learning how to walk on leash and making good progress. Because she’s really treat motivated Daisy has been starting to work on some basic commands with her foster family. When her foster mom leaves the home Daisy is gated in the kitchen with the other dogs and does very well; she does not currently require crating. At night Daisy sleeps on her foster mom’s bed and sleeps through the night. She is not quite housebroken but she is getting better every day. This adorable puppy is DELILAH, a 5-6 month old, Pomeranian/Cockapoo mix (DNA tested) weighing approximately 15 pounds. She loves to play fetch and romp around the yard or play chase with other playful dogs. Delilah has a lot of puppy energy so she needs an owner dedicated to exercising her, playing with her, and training her. She is currently enrolled in a puppy class and does some agility work as well. Delilah is a friendly puppy and likes pretty much everyone. She would make a wonderful best friend to any teenager or tween because she loves kids! Delilah really enjoys laying in the sun in the yard as well as cuddling with her humans. She sleeps through the night in her fosters bed, and is crated when her foster parents leave the house. Because Delilah gets easily spooked on walks through the neighborhood, we are requiring a fenced-in-yard for her to safely get additional running and playing time. Delilah must have another dog in the home that is her size or larger with whom to play and exercise; she is very energetic and is a little too exuberant for smaller dogs. Hello, my name is Ruby, and I am about 2 years old. As you can tell by my pictures, I'm a cutie. I'm a quiet girl and like to lay by your feet. I guess you stay I'm stubborn at times (hello my breeding?) so if I don't like to do something I put on the brakes and I will talk back to you. I guess you can also say I need a Leader or Coach to teach me that I'm not in charge - you are. That's what my foster Mom is doing for me right now. I'm in a foster home with other dogs & cats and I am ok with them. The big dogs at first, I was nervous. I hid under a chair, but my foster Mom would assure me I am ok. I don't like when other dogs or even people get in my face. Sure, my face is adorable but who likes to have someone right in their face? Not me. So, I have learned that I am ok when another dog does it and we both get corrected. If I could pick my perfect home, it would have many one other dog who I can learn from. That's what I'm also learning in my foster home. I'm learning a routine of when we go outside, when we get our food (more on that) and when it's time to go to bed. I'm house trained but I don't tell you have I have to go outside to do my business. I love going for car rides but sometimes I need help being picked up. For this, my foster Mom scoops me up under my belly. See, my belly is quite big. Remember the note on food - well I like food! I'm not aggressive but in my last home I got fed a lot and I am quite chubby. Actually, the Vet said I'm obese. I don't understand that word but my foster Mom does so she limits me on how much I can eat. I would benefit from being walked every day and I do walk well on my leash. I weigh 20#s and vet said I should be around 9-12#s. My new family has a challenge! You need to lose weight? We can be fitness partners. I'm a young gal that sadly was not told the word NO. So, when I don't want to do something, I will talk back to you. I need someone who can be my Leader or Coach and correct me with my bad behaviors. I like to please people and love to be told I'm a good girl. My chubby little body will waddle and wiggle because I love praise! I might do well in an apartment dwelling but not sure about kids. Remember the note on me liking things in my face? Well, little kids have fingers that can go in my face. Maybe you can have kids that visit and I'm quite fine hanging out in another room on my doggie bed or a couch. So, what do you think? Looking for a walking buddy?
