Story
Dallas is an amazing dog with a lot of love to give. He has the heart of a young pup and loves to burn off energy outside. He loves children and adults; he truly enjoys being laid up under a human and being rubbed. Dallas is the dog that will never leave your side. Dallas is a 5-year-old Pomeranian, that is puppy pad trained. Occasionally, he may have an accident but primarily goes on pad. When he's outside he sometimes chooses to relieve himself so please keep bags on hand. Dallas loves going to different stores such as walmart, petsmart, and Giant (in a travel bag of course). I am looking to rehome Dallas because I am currently pregnant and preparing to move to a new state. Dallas requires a lot of attention and would do well in a home with someone who works remotely or someone who is retired.

Story
Stop, look, listen! Ransom is adorable! But he is only available to someone who has extensive experience with dogs who have Ransom's behavior issues. Yes, he's as soft as a stuffed toy and just as cute and is a very smart, affectionate little guy. But he's quirky. Originally aged at 12 years old by the shelter where he was turned in as a stray, we agree with our vet team that he’s more likely about 8 years old. Ransom loves to keep watch over the neighborhood as much as he loves being cuddled. He’ll use his paw to pull your hand to his face to stroke him. We initially thought he needed to be an only pet but since he was neutered, he is doing much better. We have taken things very slowly with him and the other dogs here. When he first met the other dogs, he was territorial and showed resource guarding towards humans. We have worked with him and he has made great progress. He learns quickly and really wants to please. He knows sit, wait, watch, and come, walks nicely on the leash and is perfectly crate and house trained. Ransom needs a very special adopter. Please read our Senior Moments post to learn about him: https://www.flfosenioranimals.org/post/ransom-notes FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD. Thank you for understanding.

Story
A sweet, sassy senior - that's me! At 10 years old, I know all the rules (and follow most of them), but I'm still young enough to enjoy a nice walk and meet new people. I'm housebroken, will come when you call me, and if I'm in the mood, I'll sit for a treat. I've spent a bit of time with cats and coexist fine with them, and I've met small kids on my walks and do fine but haven't really spent time with them. I'm also interested in other dogs - sometimes a bit too interested - but I respond well to corrections. I get a monthly injection for my itchy skin, but I'm really pretty lowkey! I like to be where my humans are, I like to take my time on walks so I can smell everything, and when we come home I'm happy to relax on the couch getting pets and belly rubs. If you are a chill person or family, and have room on your couch and wet dog food in your fridge, we might be a good fit!If you'd like to take me home, please fill out an adoption application at this website -www.animalalliesrescue.org/adoption-application - and choose me, Moxie! My adoption fee is $150 and AARF wants me to tell you that their adoption package covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like me for our forever homes. By the time you meet us, we've already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. We've been checked by a veterinarian, and we're up to date on age-appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We've been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we've started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!

I'm Nala, a young, spunky, and affectionate little girl! I get along great with other dogs and I even have a best friend, her name is Cocoa. We love each other and it would be great if we could find an adopter who will take both of us, but it is not required. I'm a very friendly gal and housebroken too, which should make me a good fit for most any home. Adopting me means gaining a loyal, loving, and playful companion. So, why don't you fill out an application today and let's make some happy memories together!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well I was 'purchased' by a senior citizen.  He was 78 and I was a puppy :(  I had to be around really big dogs.  By the time I was 2 I had learned that I needed to protect myself.  My owner had realized he was to old to handle a puppy.  To say it was a mess was an understatement :(   My owners daughter started calling all around looking for help to place me.  She told the people I was food aggressive, dog aggressive and only liked males so of course most rescues the SPCA included didn't want anything to do with me :(Lucky for me Lynn decided she wanted to meet me.  She took my leash and we went for a walk.  I just knew by the way she walked with me that she was in charge and I didn't have to be.  She picked me up and carried me for a little while and I decided I liked it!She brought this big dog Millie into the play yard.  Oh no I was scared but Lynn seemed to think it would be alright so I decided to see what would happen.  Millie was very nice and she gave me my space hmmmm I think I might be OK with dogs.  The next day I came for a visit at the ranch for the day.  I met ALL the dogs and it was OK no one wanted to hurt me!!  Now I run around the ranch and I am part of the pack and guess what I like EVERYONE!  I'm even OK with female humans!!!  Life is GREAT!!  PLEASE if you are a senior be smart and don't get a young dog get a dog that is more your age and activity level and one that won't be left behind to start over when you are gone.  Its not fair.  I know other people can take the dog but boy would you like to have your world turned upside down and start all over again just because someone was selfish enough to not think ahead???MUST HAVE FENCED YARD AND ANOTHER DOG Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!July 23, 2024, 8:06 pm
