You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Coco is a super sweet, playful dog who loves being part of the pack and playing with other dogs. He had a rough start in life but has learned to trust and now adores people—and he’s even good with cats! Coco is full of energy and would thrive in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. We would not recommend him for homes with small children. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. DOB 11-25-2022 Gina spent her short life in a breeding facility until just a few months ago. She gave birth to 3 little puppies but had no milk. We were given the option to purchase her and her puppies so of course we did. Gina is a sweet 8 pound girl, she is a little shy but gets along great with others, she loves to run in the yard, play and is now a pretty social girl. She has been spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and received a ProHeart6 protection injection. Gina's adoption fee is 850.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they run every other week to their stops on the East Coast. They are the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Hi my names ny! Over a year ago i took in a medium sized dog named Dakota for a family friend. What supposed to be short term ended up being long term lol. Dakota is a medium sized yorkie / pom who’s primarily black ( with a white and gray beard and belly.) Hes great with kids and other animals, and very territorial if he creates a bond with you. he is very loving , playful and enjoys walks. However he can be a bit of a handful due to slight behavioral problems. He has an attachment issue, he freaks out if he isleft unattended and if left in a cage he will ABSOLUTELY attempt to find a way to escape. It is unclear if his previous owners had him get shots due to two different answers i have received so you may have to provide those things. I’m not really looking for any rehoming fee , just a loving home. With school and work there is just not enough time in my day to fully give him the attention he needs , which is why i want him to go to a good home.
