He does need a home without children, and would do best as an only dog or with other small dogs that are able to interact appropriately as high energy pups stress Chase out. This little guy is phenomenally perfect, but does need some structure in a new home so utilizing a crate and restricting his access/freedom is a non-negotiable requirement as Chase can become possessive if left to his own devices. He also needs a feeding schedule of twice a day in a room or crate and no high value chews can be given. If these key instructions are followed, you have yourself an amazing little guy to share a lifetime with. Chase is leash trained, crate trained, house trained, and rides well in a car. He was a breeding stud his entire life and never saw a vet before coming to us. Unfortunately he lived in pain until his teeth fell out. He also suffered from Lyme disease that he is finishing treatment for and is feeling fantastic already. His knee caps are also fused out if place so he takes supplements to help. Lenny is sweet, loves other dogs, loves people, loves food, and is enjoying his new freedom from living in a home of filth. Lenny does need another dog in the home. Lenny is leash trained, enjoys car rides, and he is a gentlemen for grooming and vetting. We see so much improvement with Lenny since he first arrived. He is acting like a puppy again now that he is feeling better. He is getting better about potty habits since his neuter, but belly bands will be needed until he's fully trained to mark things. Even though Lenny has some minor health thinks, he is truly a wonderful little guy who deserves a life of love. Now all he needs is his forever family! I get along with my foster brothers, but it took a couple of weeks to figure things out. I would do well as an only dog getting everyone’s full attention or with other small furry friends. I am completely housetrained and will even give you a little sign if you forget, think Eddie from “Frasier.” I can be a little mischievous and have been caught moving pillows and blankets around. I haven’t destroyed anything; I just like the attention. I definitely know when it’s dinner time (5:20 on the dot) but generally sleep late in the morning so breakfast time is negotiable. I am leash trained and like to lead the pack. Sometimes I pull or get a little excited on the leash but it’s nothing that a gentle tug back doesn’t take care of. I like my rides in the car, mostly staring at my foster dad. I’m okay with grooming until you get to my nails, might need a muzzle there. I’m also okay with at the vet with a little help (sedative medication). I attached to foster dad immediately and look forward to doing the same with my furever family. I just needs to feel secure and I got that right away with foster dad. I am alternately a cuddler and independent type so the best of both worlds. Are you my future family? Miwak came to us from the NYACC a bag of bones, bald, and smelling of death. He was in such terrible condition we actually thought he was a Chinese Crested with severe skin allergies, but a DNA quickly showed that he is a Pomeranian with 9% Poodle in there. Turns out Miwak was suffering from EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), allergies, and a skin infection. We got him fixed up, on prescription food with added enzymes, and poof a fluffy coat appeared! He will need to stay on a prescription diet with added enzymes for life as well as a few medications for allergies, but besides that he is a healthy estimated 7 year old, 14 pound boy ready for a home of his own. Miwak has been sick for a long time so now that he is feeling better, he acts like a playful puppy again. He loves toys, walks, and other furry playmates to romp with. He does like to lift his leg and claim everything as his, but a bellyband is a simple tool to keep that pee contained while he continues working on housetraining. Miwak is shy with new people but after a few minutes he will be your best friend! This guy is truly a unique looking boy with so much life and love to share.... he just needs a family to do it with.
