Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well I was 'purchased' by a senior citizen.  He was 78 and I was a puppy :(  I had to be around really big dogs.  By the time I was 2 I had learned that I needed to protect myself.  My owner had realized he was to old to handle a puppy.  To say it was a mess was an understatement :(   My owners daughter started calling all around looking for help to place me.  She told the people I was food aggressive, dog aggressive and only liked males so of course most rescues the SPCA included didn't want anything to do with me :(Lucky for me Lynn decided she wanted to meet me.  She took my leash and we went for a walk.  I just knew by the way she walked with me that she was in charge and I didn't have to be.  She picked me up and carried me for a little while and I decided I liked it!She brought this big dog Millie into the play yard.  Oh no I was scared but Lynn seemed to think it would be alright so I decided to see what would happen.  Millie was very nice and she gave me my space hmmmm I think I might be OK with dogs.  The next day I came for a visit at the ranch for the day.  I met ALL the dogs and it was OK no one wanted to hurt me!!  Now I run around the ranch and I am part of the pack and guess what I like EVERYONE!  I'm even OK with female humans!!!  Life is GREAT!!  PLEASE if you are a senior be smart and don't get a young dog get a dog that is more your age and activity level and one that won't be left behind to start over when you are gone.  Its not fair.  I know other people can take the dog but boy would you like to have your world turned upside down and start all over again just because someone was selfish enough to not think ahead???MUST HAVE FENCED YARD AND ANOTHER DOG Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!November 29, 2023, 9:17 pm

Story
Raymond is a gorgeous little Pomeranian born on 3/6/23. He is a tiny little guy that’s going to stay tiny. Raymond is located in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $1000 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest in an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fostering is a very important part of rescue because it allows more animals to be saved. There is a capacity on how many dogs Peace Love & Poms Rescue can have at one time and sadly we can’t save every dog that needs our help. Every foster home that welcomes a foster dog, opens a space at the rescue so that another dog can be saved.  Fostering also provides an in-home experience, which makes the dog that much more adaptable.  Fostering is extremely rewarding and you are helping to save innocent lives. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 6:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jelly Bean is a tiny 7 year old, 6 pound boy looking for his happily ever after! He is healthy except moderate luxating patellas which don't slow him down one bit with daily glucosamine. He is all about being with his person, but does get along with other dogs. He loves to eat, take walks, go on car rides, and just be with his humans. Jelly Bean does have a history of snapping at kids so a home without children is a must. He is good about pittying outside or on peepads, but once in a while he does mark. Now that he is all fixed up, he needs his forever home! To adopt Jelly Bean, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, neuter, dental, and all the love you can handle!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 6:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please note Pepper and Chloe Jean are being fostered in Norway Maine! Are you ready to welcome Pepper and Chloe Jean into your family? They are a bonded pair mother-daughter duo of gorgeous black Poms looking for love!  Pepper is 6 years old and weighs 9 pounds, while her daughter Chloe is 3 years old and weighs10 pounds. They are very playful, sweet and affectionate little ladies who love to chase each other around. These girls do need a home with a fenced yard, where they can run freely and safely. They also need a home without any other pets, because they can be aggressive towards other dogs. While this behavior has improved since coming into rescue, it is still an issue. Plus they prefer to be the only furry friends in the house. Once they settle into a new home, they are both house trained and leash trained for walks. They do love to eat, but Chloe Jean has a sensitive stomach that tends to lead to a condition called pancreatitis, which means she needs a special diet. Pepper and Chloe Jean enjoy lounging on the sofa and watching the world go by, but they also love to cuddle with you. They are looking for a loving and permanent home, where they can be happy and healthy for the rest of their days! To adopt Pepper and Chloe Jean, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $600 adoption donation for this bonded pair ($500 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, bloodwork, microchip, spay, dental, and all the love you can handle! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.WallE is a big beautiful 19 pound, 5 year old Pomeranian looking for his perfect home. He is highly trained, loyal, and sweet as can be, BUT that's only with his people. You see WallE wasn't well socialized so new things cause him anxiety that make him bark to warn people he is scared. A home wothout children is a must. We have put WallE on anxiety meds and worked with him on new things and he has improved greatly, but he will need continued work, patience and understanding in his new home. He does well with low key calm dogs, but younger energetic dogs make him very nervous. He would love to be an only dog, but if there are calm dogs that will leave him be in the home he will be okay with that. WallE prefers women, but does accept men after some time to adjust. WallE is leash trained, crate trained, house trained, rides well in a car, and healthy. Now all he needs is his happily ever after! To adopt WallE, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, neuter, and all the love you can handle!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2023, 6:47 pm
