IMPORTANT: We are looking for a very specific adopter for Alfie as this poor little girl is very scared and it is likely she had little human contact before she came to HART. She is with one of our trainers and making progress in learning to trust. She is very playful and bonded to 2 of the trainers dogs and loves to run and play with them and be near them. However, it is still hard to pick her up and she is a flight risk. Alfie has so much potential and has made very good progress in a short period of time but still has a way to go. To be considered as a possible adopter for Alfie, you will need to have dog experience as an adult (bonus if you have worked with scared dogs before), already have a playful, outgoing dog that can show Alfie the ropes, have no kids in your home, and live in a quiet, calm home with a highly secure fenced yard. Hi! My name is Parker. I am a really sweet boy and I am just looking for my furever home! I was taken from my owner because they were not taking care of me. I am about 3-4 months old (born around 1-15-24), weigh about 6 pounds, and I love dogs, cats and kids. I am doing so well with all of them in my foster home in South Carolina! I am neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for my age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. She is 11 years old, weighs about 8 pounds and, though tiny, she's full of life! Jada loves to play and is ready to give any young pup a run for their money. She's quick, agile, and loves fetch. She's also great on a leash and housebroken. While she loves to play, be outside, and go for walks, she is equal parts couch potato. Jada will curl up right next to you, or on you. She just wants to be where you are. Her foster parent has yet to observe Jada around other animals, but while on walks, it seems Jada has mixed reactions to other dogs. She doesn't react to other small dogs, but big ones can scare her (she'll bark and pull on the leash). She doesn't like quick movements at her, so children will need a slow introduction-but once she's comfortable with someone she's their best friend. Jada recently had surgery for bladder stones, but recovered quickly and a diet of prescription urinary food will prevent any future bladder stones. I had posted Blanco on here a month ago but decided trying to care for him myself I removed his profile I had him examined by a free vet that makes house calls in DC they was referred to me by the Humane Society Officer last week Thursday they came to my home and after giving a rectum exam I was told that he may have rectum cancer however still awaiting on the results of blood and poop test results and due to my working most times 16hr days I’m unable to give him proper care and keeping him from eating his poop and vomiting it up which is not good and it is a new habit he started my Blanco is 6yrs old and still so full of life please help give him a home where someone can properly care for him Thank You!!!
