Pippin’s story began as an unexpected adventure. He and his brother, Samwise, were found wandering together as strays, two young explorers trying to figure out the world. Thankfully their journey led them to safety, and now Pippin is ready to find the forever home where his real story begins. True to his name, Pippin is full of curiosity, enthusiasm, and just a little bit of joyful mischief. He’s the kind of dog who greets every day like it’s the start of a grand quest. Whether he’s playing with another dog, chasing a toy across the yard, or bouncing around with happy puppy energy, Pippin brings fun and laughter wherever he goes. Pippin is a young dog who is still learning the ropes, but he is eager to please and loves being part of whatever his people are doing. He does great with other dogs and would enjoy a home with a canine friend to play with. He is crate trained and doing well with his basic manners, and with a little patience and guidance he will grow into a wonderful, loyal companion. Like the hobbit he’s named after, Pippin may start off a little silly and adventurous, but he has a big heart and a deep capacity for loyalty. All he needs now is a family willing to take that journey with him. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring joy, personality, and a little adventure into your life, Pippin might be the perfect match. Athena is a 7 year-old “Pomsky” (pomeranian/husky mix), around 30 lbs. She is being rehomed through no fault of her own after her owners’ circumstances changed.   Athena is an easy dog and enjoys napping in close proximity to her people, as well as snuggling in the human bed at night. She has nice house manners and is well-behaved, but in typical husky fashion, enjoys talking back to her people - especially when she sees them preparing her dinner bowl! Be prepared for an “OOH-WOW-OW” and zoomies/spinnies at mealtimes.  Athena is “cat curious.” She has always lived with cats and is used to them, but does enjoy sniffing/playing, which some may not appreciate. We consider her cat-friendly, but that is for your cat to decide at a meet-and-greet! She does well with other dogs, but also thrives on her own with adequate stimulation and exercise. She has lived with a toddler and would be fine with children of any age.  With her regal looks, charismatic personality, and charming husky-chatter, Goddess Athena is ready to rule your heart and home! Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150. ##2664979##
