Athena is a 7 year-old “Pomsky” (pomeranian/husky mix), around 30 lbs. She is being rehomed through no fault of her own after her owners’ circumstances changed.   Athena is an easy dog and enjoys napping in close proximity to her people, as well as snuggling in the human bed at night. She has nice house manners and is well-behaved, but in typical husky fashion, enjoys talking back to her people - especially when she sees them preparing her dinner bowl! Be prepared for an “OOH-WOW-OW” and zoomies/spinnies at mealtimes.  Athena is “cat curious.” She has always lived with cats and is used to them, but does enjoy sniffing/playing, which some may not appreciate. We consider her cat-friendly, but that is for your cat to decide at a meet-and-greet! She does well with other dogs, but also thrives on her own with adequate stimulation and exercise. She has lived with a toddler and would be fine with children of any age.  With her regal looks, charismatic personality, and charming husky-chatter, Goddess Athena is ready to rule your heart and home! Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, the adoption fee is $150. ##2664979##

Welcome the Valentine Trio. 2 girls and 1 boy, all 4 pounds of precious. They were born 12-13-25 to a 5# mutt mama who was bred with a Pomeranian. Their senior human thought this was a good idea until she realized she would have to care for them and she just couldn’t. They are super sweet and have been around kids and cats. If all continues to go as planned they will finish their vetting and be ready to travel the 3rd weekend in March. Their adoption fee is $399 and if they have to be transported from their home state of TN, there will be an additional $200 charge. She loves long walks and prefers a yard to romp around. She is alone too many hours since I’ve been busy with work. She loves to be around people and loves praise. She gets along well with other dogs. Does not have experience with cats. She likes her schedule. She deserves lots of love and care. She loves people and is a pleaser. She’ll do well with a family or individual. She deserves time, love and care.

Foster or adoptive home needed! Coco seems to feel more comfortable with males so it would be ideal if there was a male in the home. Coco is an 12 year old Pomeranian. Coco is very sweet and does well in the car. Coco has arthritis, but he loves to go on walks and has lots of energy. Coco is neutered, updated on shots, microchipped and heartworm negative. Coco has an enlarged heart and a heart murmur. His symptoms are well managed with medication but he will remain on medication for the rest of his life.
