Story
Meet Denise – A Mama With a Heart Full of Love. Denise is a delightful 1 to 2-year-old Pug/Chihuahua mix with a story that will melt your heart. Rescued from a shelter while pregnant, this sweet girl was given a second chance at life thanks to the loving care of a Carrie On Rescue foster home. There, she safely gave birth to six adorable puppies—each one now weaned and finding their own way in the world. And now, it’s Denise’s turn to find the forever home she so deeply deserves. Gentle, affectionate, and always ready to share a happy tail wag, Denise is the kind of dog who makes every day a little brighter. She’s wonderful with other small dogs and gentle with children, making her a perfect fit for a kind, calm household. Whether snuggled up on the couch or enjoying a little zoom around the yard, Denise’s joyful spirit and sweet nature are always shining through. She’s been fully vet-checked, including complete bloodwork, and comes spayed, licensed, and microchipped. Denise is an indoor dog who will thrive in a home with a safely fenced yard to explore when the mood strikes. Her adoption fee is $400, and with it comes a heart full of love and loyalty that only a rescue like Denise can give. Contact Carrie On Rescue via phone or text at 480-603-7680 or email carrieonrescuers@hotmail.com with any questions or to request an adoption application. Please note: We only adopt within the state of Arizona. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this very special mama? Denise is ready to be your best friend — for life.

Story
Tad is a 1 year old, 10 pound Chihuahua/Pug who joined us recently from Yuma. Tad is a happy, playful little guy who enjoys meeting other people but can be a bit pushy when meeting other dogs. He doesn't like to share his food or toys so he'll be happiest as your only canine companion, and will expect to be spoiled! He will do best in a home with a yard. He enjoys going on outings with the volunteers, and he's working with them to perfect his basic commands. He is treat motivated and easy to train. He enjoys playing with squeaky toys and is a master of "keep away," but his overall favorite activity is hanging out on the couch and climbing on his humans. This happy little guy is enjoying being spoiled by one of our amazing foster homes, and he'll be at the adoption center on Saturdays from 10am-4pm. You may also email Debbie@AzFriends.org to arrange a weekday meeting. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
