Scarlet is a beautiful 2-year-old Bulldog-Boxer mix with the perfect balance of playful energy and laid-back companionship. She is affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when she is spending time with her people—whether that's a walk around the neighborhood, a car ride, or simply relaxing on the couch after a fun day.
She gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats and enjoys making new canine friends.
Scarlet walks beautifully on a leash and has done well with everyday distractions. She calmly passes other dogs, and while something new may briefly catch her attention, she recovers quickly and continues on her way.
Like many Bulldog mixes, Scarlet has a moderate energy level. She enjoys walks, playtime, and exploring, but she is just as happy settling in for a nap or cuddling with her family once the adventure is over.
Scarlet is crate trained and house trained. She rides calmly in the car, making her a wonderful companion for errands or weekend adventures.
She is also food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding, and she has shown no food aggression in her foster home.
Scarlet is the kind of dog who doesn't need constant excitement—she simply wants to be part of your life. Whether you're heading out for a walk, running errands, or enjoying a quiet evening at home, shell be happiest right by your side.
Scarlet would thrive with a family looking for a loving, loyal companion. Having another doggie friend will be great. Scarlet is currently being fostered in Texas but is able to go to anywhere in the States and even in Canada to the right home. Transport can be arranged for approved adopters.
Yards MUST BE adequately and fully and adequately fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
Scarlet currently weighs about 50 lbs and is fully vetted, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention.

Scarlet's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and a fitting Harness.
Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible.
