LIVES TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED  DOB 1/1/26, weight 12 lb. Hey there, everyone! I’m Freddy, an adorable and charming fawn-colored Pug mix fella who lives to love and to be loved in return. “A lot is a little” is an apt description of my small but solid, muscular breed of Pug. My large, round head, big, sparkling eyes, and wrinkled brow give me a range of hooman-like expressions – surprise, happiness, curiosity. No wonder Pugs have delighted their owners for centuries! Admittedly, I had a rough start to my short life. My owner neglected my friend Chiqui and me, and we were relegated to a lonely, uncomfortable existence in his backyard. That was no life for dogs who love to be in hooman’s laps! Thankfully, when a neighbor discovered our situation and saw that we were covered in fleas and ticks, our owner was convinced to surrender us to our HOPE foster mom. Understandably, after my past lack of socialization, I was initially shy when I arrived in my foster home. Foster Mom knew that it would take time and patience for me to learn to trust her. With her gentle voice and affectionate touch, she showed me that I was loved, and I slowly began to open up. Voilá! Now I live to love her and to be loved in return. I’m still just a pup, so I happily play well with not only Chiqui but also the other small dogs here, and I just ignore the cats. I was so happy to become an indoor dog that I took to house-  and crate-training quite easily. Now it’s time for me for graduate to my forever home where I can bring my charming and adorable self to sprinkle love and laughter. Could that be yours? Arrange to meet me today! We’ll fall head over paws with each other the instant that we meet! In case you’re looking for a matching pair of Pugs, please consider adopting Chiqui along with me. We could be playmates and cuddle buddies when you’re at work or on vacation. HOPE ID D26-0706-0033 Freddy’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site that Freddy will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you. Meet Kringle! Breed: Pug MixGender: MaleAge: AdultSize: Small ([WEIGHT])Good with: Other dogs, people who appreciate a laid-back lifestyle Kringle is just sweet incarnate! Sure, he doesn't look like the bell of the ball, but his happy-go-lucky lifestyle really makes up for it. This charming little Pug mix has figured out that looks aren't everything—it's the attitude and personality that matter, and Kringle has both in spades. He gets along well with other dogs and isn't huge into playing with everyone. Kringle has discovered a better way to spend his time: laying in the yard and sunning himself like a tiny, wrinkly lizard soaking up the good vibes. He's mastered the art of relaxation and has zero interest in high-energy chaos when there's a perfectly good sunny spot available. Kringle is the kind of dog who won't demand constant entertainment or attention. He's content to just BE—existing peacefully, enjoying the warmth of the sun, and radiating that easygoing energy that makes everyone around him relax too. He's perfect for someone who wants a low-key companion who's happy to just hang out and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. If you're looking for a sweet, laid-back companion who gets along with everyone but mostly just wants to chill in the sunshine and live his best relaxed life, Kringle is ready to bring his gentle, happy energy into your home! Ready to welcome Kringle into your life? Contact us to meet this wonderful boy! Meet Checkers! Breed: Pug x Beagle MixGender: MaleAge: AdultSize: Small ([WEIGHT])Good with: Submissive dogs, adults only, people who respect his boundaries Checkers is sweet, goofy, and full of personality—the perfect combo of Pug charm and Beagle enthusiasm! This little guy loves to play and has that endearing goofball energy that makes everyday life more entertaining. He's happy to romp around and enjoy life, as long as his canine companions are on the more submissive side. Checkers likes to run the show, and he does best with dogs who are okay with that arrangement. Here's where Checkers shows his quirky side: he's NOT a fan of being picked up out of the blue. He's got opinions about personal space and consent, and he'll let you know if you've crossed a line. However, when HE'S ready for cuddles? He'll present his tummy or jump up to signal he's open for business. It's all about communication and respecting his boundaries—once you understand his language, you're golden. Because of his particular preferences, Checkers would be a great companion for an adult-only home with people who understand that quirks are what make a dog interesting. He loves to give love to his people, but not everyone is his people—and that's okay! He's looking for someone who gets that he's a complete package: sweet, playful, a little opinionated, and 100% worth it. If you're ready for a goofy companion who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to tell you, Checkers is your guy! Ready to welcome Checkers into your life? Contact us to meet this wonderful boy! My name is Junebug.   I am around 5-6 years old and am a bulldog or maybe a bulldog mix. My favorite activities are lounging, eating, and belly rubs!  Although I’m 65 pounds, I would love nothing more than to sit in your lap and stream your favorite show!  I love snuggles and would prefer to be the only dog in the home receiving them.  I’m a sweet, goofy girl that loves a routine.  At times,  I can get over-excited but I’m easily corrected. I can also be a little bossy so someone who has dog experience and can properly correct me would be good.  A home with adults only would be the ideal fit for me. I’ve been with Scouts Honor for a long while and truly deserve a forever home!    Scout's Honor Rescue is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill TX shelters. EIN # is 87-0773073 Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/scoutshonorrescue or Instagram at www.instagram.com/scoutshonorrescue We have multiple ways to donate: Venmo:  @ScoutsHonor-Rescue Paypal: www.paypal.me/scoutshonorrescue   https://scoutshonor.org/take-action/donate/ We are strictly volunteer based, no salaries are paid and 100% of donations go towards rescuing dogs March 8, 2026, 9:28 pm

Story
Looking for a loyal companion with the sweetest heart? Scarlet might be your perfect match! Scarlet is a beautiful 2-year-old Bulldog-Boxer mix with the perfect balance of playful energy and laid-back companionship. She is affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when she is spending time with her people—whether that's a walk around the neighborhood, a car ride, or simply relaxing on the couch after a fun day. She gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats and enjoys making new canine friends. Scarlet walks beautifully on a leash and has done well with everyday distractions. She calmly passes other dogs, and while something new may briefly catch her attention, she recovers quickly and continues on her way. Like many Bulldog mixes, Scarlet has a moderate energy level. She enjoys walks, playtime, and exploring, but she is just as happy settling in for a nap or cuddling with her family once the adventure is over. Scarlet is crate trained and house trained. She rides calmly in the car, making her a wonderful companion for errands or weekend adventures. She is also food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding, and she has shown no food aggression in her foster home. Scarlet is the kind of dog who doesn't need constant excitement—she simply wants to be part of your life. Whether you're heading out for a walk, running errands, or enjoying a quiet evening at home, shell be happiest right by your side. Scarlet would thrive with a family looking for a loving, loyal companion. Having another doggie friend will be great. She'd enjoy daily walks, time with her people, and a cozy place to relax afterward. She would fit well with adopters who want a dog that's happy to join in on adventures but also appreciates a peaceful evening at home. Scarlet is currently being fostered in Texas but is able to go to anywhere in the States and even in Canada to the right home. Transport can be arranged for approved adopters. Yards MUST BE adequately and fully and adequately fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Scarlet currently weighs about 50 lbs and is fully vetted, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention. To meet this amazing pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Scarlet's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and a fitting Harness. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder
