Story
Todd is a move-in ready, easy dog who just wants to be loved. He gets along with people, dogs, and cats. He is a great car passenger and is easy to walk on a leash. He's fully housetrained and sleeps well through the night. He is well behaved when left home alone -- just point him to the bed, and he'll snooze the day away. His exercise needs are fairly modest. He's more of a lover than a jogger. And he's super quiet, so he won't disrupt you if you're teleworking. Todd is blind, but you wouldn't know it to watch him maneuver through the world. He's happy on walks and wandering around in the yard. He's not the biggest fan of stairs, but he can do a couple if you ask nicely. He needs some daily eye drops, but is a good sport about them. He came to Miri's with a skin condition, but that is clearly up with regular ointment. Like most dogs his age, he's also taking some cosequin for arthritis. He's on a diet for dogs with sensitive stomachs and is faring quite well. Todd loves to explore, both inside and out; loves to have his head and lower back rubbed while he naps; loves to eat; loves to ride in his car seat. He's hoping his new home has a fenced yard, a dad (he adores his foster dad), and lots of snuggles. He is a perfect little guy, quiet and with the softest fur. Whoever adopts him will be so lucky. Todd Clark is approx 12 years old and 24 lbs. Fostered in Rockville, MD. Please apply at mirishaven.org.

Story
Meet Annie! Say hello to Annie, a absolutely adorable and spirited Chihuahua who is a whirlwind of personality, charm and sweetness all wrapped up in one perfectly tiny and completely irresistible little package! This sweet girl is looking for a loving home with a good routine where she can feel completely safe and be the very best friend you have ever had! A Little About Annie: Do not let her small size fool you for even one second — Annie brings BIG energy, BIG personality and an even BIGGER heart to everything she does! She is sweet, sassy, smart and absolutely full of life in the most wonderful and entertaining way possible. Annie's Highlights: Good with Small Dogs & Cats — Annie does well with other small dogs and cats making her a great fit for a multi pet household. She does get a little nervous around large dogs so a home without big canine companions would suit her best ️ Champion Lap Dog — When Annie is done conquering the world she will climb right into your lap, curl up and fall into the most peaceful and gloriously snory sleep you have ever witnessed. Yes she snores. Yes it is the cutest thing you have ever heard in your life Crate & House Trained — Annie is fully crate trained and house trained and actually sleeps in her kennel at night like the perfectly routine oriented girl she is Certified Foodie — Annie is a treat lover of the highest order and will do just about anything for a good snack. Food motivated? Absolutely and completely Knows Her Commands — This smart little cookie knows her basic commands including sit and stay proving that great things absolutely do come in small packages Fair Warning About the Wardrobe — Annie's daily vigorous energy means that all clothes, shoes and accessories need to be picked up and put away. If you leave them out Annie will absolutely find them, drag them around and then look you dead in the eyes while daring you to try and get them back. Consider yourself lovingly warned! Annie's Leash Journey — A Success Story! Annie loves her walks so much that she used to overplay and overexert herself, sometimes getting the wind knocked right out of her when she hit the end of the retractable leash at full speed. But here is where Annie's story gets really amazing — Her incredibly dedicated foster mom taught Annie to come when she calls her name and this one brilliant trick has changed absolutely everything! Instead of racing to the end of the leash Annie now turns it into a fun and interactive game — responding with 100% perfection every single time. This is a newer trick but Annie has completely and totally mastered it and it has made a world of difference in her quality of play and her overall happiness and wellbeing. Annie's Golden Hour: Here is a little insider tip for getting the very best of Annie — After her post lunch nap is when this girl is absolutely and completely at her finest! This is when Annie: Distributes an abundance of kisses freely and generously Receives quality scratches with pure and total bliss ✨ Is the sweetest and most loving version of herself A little note about the scratches — Annie does have a limit on how many she will accept before she politely but firmly reminds you that you have exceeded your quota. But the good news is you can absolutely get MANY wonderful scratches in before that moment arrives so scratch away! What Annie Needs: A Safe & Loving Home — Annie thrives when she feels secure and protected A Good Routine — This girl does her absolute best when her days have structure and predictability Small Dog or Cat Friendly Home — No large dogs please! A Best Friend — Because that is exactly and completely what Annie will be to the right person Annie is a sweet, smart, sassy and completely loveable little girl who has so much to offer the right home. She will make you laugh every single day, keep you on your toes, snore peacefully in your lap and love you with her whole tiny and enormous heart. She is not just looking for a home. She is looking for her person — someone who will give her the routine, the safety and the love she deserves so she can be exactly what she was always meant to be. Story
Max is a handsome 14 year old 12 pound Chihuahua Pug mix. Max has a big personality. He's social, playful, and opinionated. Max gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, but can be snappish over treats. Max can also be snappish and insecure until he is confident with a new person. His BFF is Jill, a 14 year old 8 pound Chihuahua who has been with Max his entire life. We'd love to see them get adopted together. Both are altered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative.

Story
Meet Twix! This handsome Bully boy has already overcome so much. Found tied to a pole as a very young pup, Twix was lucky enough to be spotted by a Good Samaritan who took him in and helped him find his way to rescue. Since then, he has shown everyone what a wonderful dog he is...vibrant, affectionate, smart, and eager to be part of a family. Twix is currently living with Seasoned fosters, Laura and Brian, along with their resident dog, Buddy. Before coming to the DC metro area, he lived happily in a home with four other dogs and has consistently shown that he enjoys canine companionship. He loves being part of a pack. This playful, social guy thrives in an active environment and especially enjoys rough-and-tumble play. He would do best with a medium-energy dog his size or larger who enjoys playing and can match his fun-loving style. That said, Twix is also perfectly capable of entertaining himself and settling down when it’s time to relax. He'd be fine as an only dog too.  FOSTER MOM UPDATE  Laura shared, “Twix is doing great! He settled into our home quickly and has been a joy to have around. He has done a great job acclimating to our dog, Budd,y and enjoys playing chase, tug-of-war, and showing off his goofy personality. When he’s not playing, he’s happy to lounge, entertain himself with toys, and hang out while his foster mom works from home. He’s a sweet boy who loves belly rubs, meeting new people, and occasionally “talking” to let you know what he’s thinking, which is absolutely adorable." ******* Twix is a smart and adaptable pup who is eager to please. He is housetrained, crate-trained, and working on his basic commands. He rides well in the car, enjoys meeting new people and dogs, and has made progress with his leash skills through training. He is very treat-motivated, which makes him a quick learner and a fun dog to train. We believe Twix will thrive with an active family that appreciates his playful, goofy personality and is committed to providing the structure, exercise, and love he needs. While he enjoys having a canine companion, he could also be happy as the only dog in the home as long as he receives plenty of attention, enrichment, and interaction. Twix is a wonderful, loving young dog with so much love to give. He’s ready for a lifetime of adventures, belly rubs, playtime, and a family of his own. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving companion, Twix is your pup! Apply today! BREED ESTIMATE:  American Staffordshire/Bulldog/Bully Mix = Super cute!
