Othello, our 10-year-old, 15lb Rat Terrier mix, is ready for his forever home. He is a very sweet and calm dog. He does well with other dogs and is good with people. He may be a little timid in the beginning but warms up quickly once he gets to know you. He is good on walks, loves his naps and toys. Othello can have some separation anxiety at first but does better when he adjusts to his new environment. One quirk of his is that he is an escape artist, a real Houdini, therefore, high walls are preferred. However, once he has adjusted and is comfortable in his new home, he just wants to stay home and get all the love he deserves. He has been waiting very patiently for someone to notice him. I was found as a stray at the end of December 2023, and the people tried to find my family, but to no avail. I got along well with their dogs, and boy did I ever LOVE to chase their cats...so much fun! (I also love to chase squirrels, skunks, opossums, rats...you get the idea). I enjoy playing with toys (they don't have to be dog toys, I love barbies), and playing in the yard with my people. I am always excited to smell all the smells out on walks, but do need to learn some manners in that situation. I do love my treats, so I think we can work together on this! I don't mind going in my crate, but would much rather be with you, or snuggling on my favorite chair. I am about three years old, neutered, and am up to date on my vaccinations. A home without young children or small animals would be best for me. A quiet, adult home would be perfect! Elwood is available for adoption or foster. He needs time to adjust to a new schedule, home, etc. He is super friendly and a cuddle bug. He is about 3 to 4 years old, weighs 8 pounds, is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. We have no history on him other than someone was selling him on the side of the road with other dogs and a good samaritan stopped and bought him. It turns out he had an unregistered microchip but we were unable to track it back to a possible owner, in case Elwood had been stolen. Thanks to Mel Elwood was saved. Mel reached out to us she was unable to keep him because Elwood and her other dog were not really getting along. She was not able to continue to foster him. He then went to Gaylynn and the next day he was adopted, now returned. He has gone to 4 different places in 2 weeks of course he's confused with where to potty.
