Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Tyler is a little guy weighing in at 17 lbs currently. He could stand to put a few pounds on and top out at 21 lbs or so. We believe he is a Rat Terrier mix. Tyler is a spunky little guy who loves his people. He will follow you wherever you go, and will want to be right on your lap the moment you sit down! He gets along well with other dogs with a slow introduction. Tyler is vocal when he sees new dogs, but with the right introduction he will settle down and play with big and little dogs! He also does require a fenced yard or someone who is willing to take him out on a leash, but he is house trained. If he is in another home with dogs, he will need to sleep in a crate, but otherwise he is okay sleeping in a bed out and about. He can show people possession so no sleeping in the bed with him until he’s properly trained. He is so ready to love everyone! He has not yet been tested around children so at this time we cannot adopt him out to a home with children. Tyler is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to visit him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $300 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. He is neutered and microchipped. He is also up-to-date on all vaccinations and preventatives as well as Heartworm negative. Please visit our website and fill out an application if you are interested. http://newstartdogrescue.org

Story
Please meet Chance the Pupper! Chance is a very happy, sweet, and smart boy. He loves to play, cuddle, and relax with his family. Chance is also a big fan of checking himself out in the mirror. Can you blame him, who wouldn't with a face like his? He's so handsome!! Chance is a 2 year old Terrier mix that weighs 24 lbs. He is an active boy who loves to play. His tail wagging takes over his entire body when he's excited! It's the highlight of his foster Mom's day when he greets her at the door as she gets home from work! He just loves being around his "people" and giving them as much love and affection as they will allow him to give! Chance may have had a rough start in life with minimal socialization and/or neglect. He requires patience, support, and training. He has shown signs of fear reactivity, as he associates some things with fear, seeing them as threats, most likely for survival. Chance will need a single family home, no children under 12, and a fenced in yard that will help him exert his energy, and help him feel safe from unfamiliar dogs as well. He requires slow and gentle introductions to new people, and new dogs. His foster parents have been giving 110% of their energy to working with Chance. Using a combination of private 1 on 1 in-home training sessions with a certified trainer and recently starting a daily medication, we have seen GREAT improvements! His foster parents also work daily on basic obedience with him, and he now knows "sit, stay, touch, leave it, place, and find it! His daily medication he has started taking is an anti-anxiety medication, he takes it once a day, and can be prescribed by a vet and purchased through your local pharmacy. The monthly cost for a 30 day supply is about $10-15 a month. We've also found that he's super agile, and he would be a great running partner or agility course training with an active adopter! He just lights up and thrives while playing catch and any game that uses skill and focus. He listens and is very attentive. Ideal to be the only pet at home, adopters should be comfortable keeping up with him in terms of energy. Chance is smart, charming, and extremely loving. We know his family is out there, and willing to give this loving boy the chance at a happy life, a life that he deserves! **I am participating in TNT's Adoption Extravaganza!! My adoption fee is $250**

Story
Hi. I'm Gabe, a 2 year old chi mix. My name means "man of God, my strength is God. Pretty ironic since I landed in Gods Dogs Rescue. That's the place where the rescue lady used God's love as the inspiration for saving pups like me who are looking for our furever homes. You see, my life started as one of 20+ chis that were removed from a hoarding situation. The situation was not good as there were too many of us for our owner to adequately care and I didn't learn that humans can be kind and loving. Instead, I got my love from my fellow 4-legged friends. So, when I was adopted from the shelter by a few senior ladies who were looking for a walking partner, I didn't know what to do. For the first time, I didn't have my canine friends to support me so I just hid from my adopters. The ladies didn't know what to do with a pooch that didn't know how to walk on a leash and who was too afraid to cuddle with them so I was surrendered. That's where God once again stepped in and got me some more help. I immediately went into a foster home where I could learn some manners and work on trusting humans. That is where I am now. I am still anxious around people and will run away if anyone makes eye contact with me or makes sudden movements. I have bonded with my yorkie foster siblings and I see how they love sitting in foster mom's lap and sleeping in her bed. I sometimes want to do those things too but I am still afraid and foster mom has to be patient and wait for me to initiate contact. Enough about all that sad stuff. Let me tell you about the good stuff. I have learned to walk on a leash. I have also learned to play with toys and I have been known to take them out in the backyard and strew them all around. I have also learned to go out a doggie door and have potty trained myself. I go willingly into the kennel, with the help of a yummy treat. I am in good physical health and have lovely black spots over my white back. Foster mom thinks I look like a small cow because of my spots. So, if you are a patient type that understands that it will take a while for me to bond with you, have your peeps call my peeps and I'll head right over.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Wanted:  A loving, patient & quieter home that will adore me! Hi, I'm Mary Kate.  I'm a young (apx 1 y/o)  possible rat terrier/ feist mix that is looking for someone to help me come out of my shell and live my very best life.  I promise, I'll make it worth your time and effort!  I'm super affectionate once you earn my trust and love to be pet and sit as close to you as possible.   I wasn't socialized well as a puppy so I am unsure about the world - especially sudden moves / noises.  My foster family and their dogs has been helping me gain my confidence and I'm getting more social each week.  They see the potential I have to be a wonderful companion.   I have good house manners.  I am crate trained and appear to be potty trained.  I really need someone to help me drop some weight; I'm way too heavy for my age especially.  I currently weigh around 28 lbs and need to lose around 8-10 lbs.   If you feel you could be my person, please complete an application on our website.  My adoption fee is $400, which includes age appropriate vaccinations & microchip.  (I am spayed) *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications.
