Story
Meet Ember Hi everyone! My name is Ember and I’m a super cute, mixed breed female puppy who is 5.5 months old and about 20 pounds. I am fully vaccinated including my rabies vaccine. I am a Rat Terrier mix and came here with 8 siblings from Texas! I have beautiful spotted fur and more spots continually come out! My foster family said I’m super sweet! I LOVE to be held and would let you hold me all day if you would! I love to be by people and follow my humans around the house everytime they move. I love toys and bones and playing with other dogs. Every day, I need some time to play and get my energy out and then I will nap and be a good girl. I also love enrichment toys that make my brain work! I currently live in a foster home with 3 other dogs of various ages and these things called humans. I get along well with everyone! I have never met a cat but I do have some herding tendencies so might try to herd a cat. I have met kids and do well with them! I currently sleep in a crate at night and sleep quietly all night until morning. I have been working on my commands and know “off”, “sit”, “paw” and am working on “down”. I also have been going on up to 1.5 mile long walks now! I don’t mind my leash or a collar or a harness. I am mostly house broken but still have some accidents, although they are becoming less and less frequent. I will need someone who will agree to train me with positive reinforcement and continue to work on it with me. I am very treat motivated and eager to please! If you’re looking for a sweet, cute puppy with a playful, spunky side, I may be your girl! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. Story
Tootsie is a sweet, funny, playful, affectionate 1-2 year old, 20 pound terrier mix. It’s obvious she’s lived in a home at some point in her life as she has excellent house manners. She is fully housebroken and doesn’t chew things (except her toys). There’s a lot of activity outside the window she looks out and she has been very responsive to learning not to bark at people and dogs passing by. She gets along quite well with the other elderly dog in her foster home. She loves to go for walks. At some point in her life Tootsie must not have been treated very well. She is fearful of people when she first meets them and needs reassurance to know that she is safe now. Her behavior at that point can be off putting. Her foster family has been patient and kind with her and some of her fearfulness is lessening. But her adopting family would need to also be very patient and instructive with her as she builds trust and adjusts to her forever home. She would probably be best in an adult environment. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gypsy is such a special girl.  She is so intelligent and eager to please and picks up new tricks easily.  She is also very treat motivated, which makes training a breeze.  She is super outgoing and loves everyone she meets.  Gypsy is down for any adventure.  She enjoys going on long walks and loves to play.  She has lots of energy, so she should probably do best with an active family.  Gypsy is crate trained, housebroken, and knows her basic commands.  She is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped as well.  She does have a high prey drive so she might not do well with cats but she is great with kids.  She also is fine with other dogs and would love a playmate.  Gypsy would be such a fun addition to any home. Her adoption fee is $600 To adopt Gypsy, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 6, 2025, 1:27 pm

Story
The Tenn. folks figure that I was born around the beginning of the year and took care of my sister and I, gave us our vaccines and sent us up North so that a better life would be had. I might be a little shy but must came in. My shelter mom knows that I will warm up fast to humans and am already comfortable with other canine friends. I weigh just a hair over 20# which lists me as medium. If you would like to meet me, PLEASE FILL OUT THE APPLICATION on the website of www.4Paws4U4Ever.com under How To Adopt. Thank you

Story
My name is Capricorn and I am looking for my fur-ever home. Clicking on my picture is the first step in getting to know me! Potential adopters always ask a lot of questions about me. Here are the most common ones:Q: What is your back story?A: I heard that I used to live in a home with several dogs until my owner died. Luckily the volunteers at Almost Home Foundation saved me so I could have a second chance. I am currently in a foster home with two adult humans and two doggie sisters while I wait to be adopted. I am on the shy side, but with love, patience, and encouragement, I continue to gain confidence.Q: Are you housebroken and crate-trained?A: Yes to both! In fact, I love my crate. It’s my own little den where I feel safe and comfortable. Q: Are you good with dogs, cats, or kids?A: I am dog-friendly. I am timid so children would be too scary for me. It’s okay if they visit once in a while as long as I have a quiet place away from all the activity. I am not sure how I would be with cats.Q: Do you chew furniture, etc.?A: Nope. Not at all. I spend most of my day curled up in my doggie bed under a blanket. I’m so quiet that you hardly know I’m there!Q: Can you be left home alone?A: Yes! Just put me in my crate with a Kong toy and a blanket and I’m a happy camper.Q: Do you need a fenced-in yard?A: Yes. I do not potty on a leash so I will need a secure fenced yard for potty-time. It doesn`t need to be a big yard, just a secure one. Besides, I LOVE running around the backyard and having fun!Q: What is your ideal forever home?A: In terms of a forever home, I need someone with lots of love and patience to help me learn to trust. I am not a social butterfly or cuddle-bug that wants to meet everyone. An overly busy home with lots of people coming-and-going would be overwhelming. Q: Anything else we should know?A: I am up-to-date on shots, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, neutered, and in overall good health. I weigh about 15 pounds. Oh, and I LOVE cheese!Do you have room in your heart and home for me? If so, email dogs@almosthomefoundation.org to get in touch with my foster parents.Adoption fee is $360Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.orgAlmost Home Foundation`s adoption requirements:(1) Be at least 21 years of age;(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;(3) Have approval from the residence o

Story
Our buddy Eddie is not for everyone. But, everyone who meets him want to scoop him up, cuddle him, and make him their own!! He definitely will have none of that! Eddie is an adorable little guy but meets people on his own terms. Once he gets to know them, he's their best buddy. He's been out visiting potential adopters but has not found anyone that he wants to make his forever pet parent! He's looking for an all adult home, and would love to have a canine companion too, preferable someone calm and a bit older like he is. Most important, Eddie needs a forever family willing to be patient with him and give him the time and space he needs to adapt to his new environment. This precious pup has had so many changes in the past few months and we haven’t yet found that special person who will truly understand him. Eddie is believed to be a Rat Terrier, 10 years old but is quite active for his age, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative. Eddie gets along well with dogs of all sizes and enjoys their company. He weighs 19 lbs. If you are interested in adding this precious boy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Please note that BAARK is located in Barrington IL, and adopts only local to our area.
