Tootsie is a sweet, funny, playful, affectionate 20 pound terrier mix who is probably about one to two years old. She has excellent house manners and is fully housebroken. She gets along quite well with the other elderly dog in her foster home. Tootsie loves to go for walks and is responding well to other dogs and people she meets. She would be very happy to run freely in a fenced yard. She loves to play with her toys and bounces and twirls when she is happy. She is great at snuggling and cuddling. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Story
The Tenn. folks figure that I was born around the beginning of the year and took care of my sister and I, gave us our vaccines and sent us up North so that a better life would be had. I might be a little shy but must came in. My shelter mom knows that I will warm up fast to humans and am already comfortable with other canine friends. I weigh just a hair over 20# which lists me as medium. If you would like to meet me, PLEASE FILL OUT THE APPLICATION on the website of www.4Paws4U4Ever.com under How To Adopt. Thank you

Story
Meet Ember Hi everyone! My name is Ember and I’m a super cute, mixed breed female puppy who is 5.5 months old and about 20 pounds. I am fully vaccinated including my rabies vaccine. I am a Rat Terrier mix and came here with 8 siblings from Texas! I have beautiful spotted fur and more spots continually come out! My foster family said I’m super sweet! I LOVE to be held and would let you hold me all day if you would! I love to be by people and follow my humans around the house everytime they move. I love toys and bones and playing with other dogs. Every day, I need some time to play and get my energy out and then I will nap and be a good girl. I also love enrichment toys that make my brain work! I currently live in a foster home with 3 other dogs of various ages and these things called humans. I get along well with everyone! I have never met a cat but I do have some herding tendencies so might try to herd a cat. I have met kids and do well with them! I currently sleep in a crate at night and sleep quietly all night until morning. I have been working on my commands and know “off”, “sit”, “paw” and am working on “down”. I also have been going on up to 1.5 mile long walks now! I don’t mind my leash or a collar or a harness. I am mostly house broken but still have some accidents, although they are becoming less and less frequent. I will need someone who will agree to train me with positive reinforcement and continue to work on it with me. I am very treat motivated and eager to please! If you’re looking for a sweet, cute puppy with a playful, spunky side, I may be your girl! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gypsy is such a special girl.  She is so intelligent and eager to please and picks up new tricks easily.  She is also very treat motivated, which makes training a breeze.  She is super outgoing and loves everyone she meets.  Gypsy is down for any adventure.  She enjoys going on long walks and loves to play.  She has lots of energy, so she should probably do best with an active family.  Gypsy is crate trained, housebroken, and knows her basic commands.  She is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped as well.  She does have a high prey drive so she might not do well with cats but she is great with kids.  She also is fine with other dogs and would love a playmate.  Gypsy would be such a fun addition to any home. Her adoption fee is $600 To adopt Gypsy, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 6, 2025, 1:27 pm

Story
My name is Capricorn and I am looking for my fur-ever home. Clicking on my picture is the first step in getting to know me! Potential adopters always ask a lot of questions about me. Here are the most common ones:Q: What is your back story?A: I heard that I used to live in a home with several dogs until my owner died. Luckily the volunteers at Almost Home Foundation saved me so I could have a second chance. I am currently in a foster home with two adult humans and two doggie sisters while I wait to be adopted. I am on the shy side, but with love, patience, and encouragement, I continue to gain confidence.Q: Are you housebroken and crate-trained?A: Yes to both! In fact, I love my crate. It’s my own little den where I feel safe and comfortable. Q: Are you good with dogs, cats, or kids?A: I am dog-friendly. I am timid so children would be too scary for me. It’s okay if they visit once in a while as long as I have a quiet place away from all the activity. I am not sure how I would be with cats.Q: Do you chew furniture, etc.?A: Nope. Not at all. I spend most of my day curled up in my doggie bed under a blanket. I’m so quiet that you hardly know I’m there!Q: Can you be left home alone?A: Yes! Just put me in my crate with a Kong toy and a blanket and I’m a happy camper.Q: Do you need a fenced-in yard?A: Yes. I do not potty on a leash so I will need a secure fenced yard for potty-time. It doesn`t need to be a big yard, just a secure one. Besides, I LOVE running around the backyard and having fun!Q: What is your ideal forever home?A: In terms of a forever home, I need someone with lots of love and patience to help me learn to trust. I am not a social butterfly or cuddle-bug that wants to meet everyone. An overly busy home with lots of people coming-and-going would be overwhelming. Q: Anything else we should know?A: I am up-to-date on shots, micro-chipped, heartworm negative, neutered, and in overall good health. I weigh about 15 pounds. Oh, and I LOVE cheese!Do you have room in your heart and home for me? If so, email dogs@almosthomefoundation.org to get in touch with my foster parents.Adoption fee is $360Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.orgAlmost Home Foundation`s adoption requirements:(1) Be at least 21 years of age;(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;(3) Have approval from the residence o

Meet Mustang (Partial SPONSORSHIP)! Hi! Thank you for visiting my profile! Mustang can be a bit shy at first. Once she gets to know you get ready for snuggles, belly rubs and lots of love. You can get to know her by tossing treats away from you, then allowing her to come to you for more treats. She also has been working on "sit" so give that a try too! She is fully potty trained. Oh and she wants us to make sure to include that she loves belly rubs-have we mentioned that yet? If a night of snack, snuggling and sitcoms is your thing - we may be a perfect match! Our love bug's adoption fee is $300 which includes being fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and fecal exam. Mustang is 5 years old and petite weighing 33lbs (fully grown). All we can say is Mustang is a ray of sunshine 24/7! Her birthday is 1/14/19. Note: All dogs require a $100 training deposit. Once confirmation of the completion of a training class has been sent to the rescue, you will receive your deposit back in full. As we are a rescue all of our adult dogs/puppies for adoption must be spayed or neutered. Although we make every attempt to have this done before finding their adoptive families, this is not always possible. Please speak with your adoption coordinator to see of this service has already been performed or they will explain to you if your new dog/puppy will need this service while in your care at no cost to you. When emailing please include your phone number to help speed up the adoption process. Also, for the safety of our dogs we only adopt within a 2 hour radius of Joliet, Illinois, to allow our volunteers to do home checks if necessary.
