Story
LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY. Peabody is a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix (we think). He was pulled into our rescue from an over-crowded, rural, KY shelter because he was not tolerating the environment well and was shut down. He was terrified when first arriving at his fosters home. It took time…but not much. We have video evidence that he is a Velcro mix. He likes dogs about his size, but gets passive-aggressive with bigger dogs. Meaning he runs his mouth. He would have no problem with another, playful dog or being the one-and-only. He likes to watch TV on the couch, beside you, with his eyes closed. He will be the big spoon every night and knows how to fit perfectly into the small of your back. Peabody will likely need the expected 3 days to decompress in a new environment. But once he has stopped fretting, he’ll be melting like butter in your lap. We think Peabody needs to find that doesn’t require transport, so applications must be local to TN. I need to be adopted in Crossville, Tennessee. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Peabody's adoption fee is $300.If transport is needed, there are additional fees to cover department of agriculture requirements and transport, the additional fee adds $300 to the adoption fee (any location out of Tennessee, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to your browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Meet Homer! 🐾 At 4 years old and 26 pounds, Homer's a quiet, medium-energy boy who may still be discovering just how great life in a home can be. He can be a little shy at first, but he’s been good with every person and dog he’s met. He rides nicely in the car, walks well on a leash with a harness, and seems to be mostly potty trained. He’s getting used to his crate and working on basic commands, too. Toys and treats are still a bit of a mystery, but he’s quickly discovered that cheese and chicken are definitely worth getting excited about! 🧀🍗 He lights up when he sees children too! With a little patience and love, this good little boy is ready to settle in and discover all the creature comforts he may have been missing. ❤️

Story
Best friend Buddy is the total package. He loves people and greets everyone, always eager for attention.   At 12, Buddy ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter. We do not know his backstory or why such a sweet boy would land in a shelter. We may never know.     At Critter Cavalry, we adore seniors and believe they deserve every chance to find a loving home. You won’t regret considering Buddy—he loves everyone, whether human or animal. Buddy is everyone’s best friend.     Buddy is healthy for a senior. He has limited sight and hearing, but is otherwise in good shape. He navigates his foster home easily and enjoys exploring the fenced yard. He comes when called—just use a louder voice.   Buddy is ready to retire with a couple eager to add him to their family. He’d love a fenced yard to explore—size isn’t important—and an active retirement with short walks and car rides. He will be a wonderful addition to a family that matches his lifestyle.   If you want a new best friend, Buddy is perfect for you. To learn more about adopting him, contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or 615-943-7311. Approved application and adoption fee required.    September 2, 2026, 6:15 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Meet Angel, a girl whose name fits her perfectly! Angel is currently living in a foster home, and her foster family absolutely adores her. They say she is the “bestest girl” and just the sweetest little soul to have around. Angel has settled beautifully into home life and loves being part of a family. Her foster family has gotten to see just how loving and special she truly is, and now they are hoping the perfect forever family will see it too. Angel requires another dog in her forever home for companionship and a secure fenced yard where she can safely enjoy being outside. She has already won the hearts of her foster family, and we have a feeling it won’t take long for her to win yours too. Angel is ready for the next chapter of her life—a family to call her own forever. Story
I adopted Molly just a few months ago. My dog had gotten hit by a car and killed and Molly just list her owner to a fast and fatal cancer. .I adopted her from the foster home the weekend my dog died . We both grieved together and bonded. I did a little digging and found out that her start to life was pretty heart breaking. As a puppy she was found with her legs bound together with duct tape, lying on the side of a highway( Molly Pitcher) in the rain. A young man saw her and got her and took her to his parents. She had a life with a black lab and her human parents. She is 8 years old, and lost her mother during COVID, and then her dog brother and now her father just this year. So why am I rehoming her? Well she has some severe dental issues that if not taken care of are going to be causing unbearable pain. I can not afford the medical/dental bills. She either needs most of her teeth pulled or euthanized. So I'm on here praying for someone to give her the care she needs.
