Story
Jayden is a sweet pup with basic house and obedience training including crate training. She is very high energy, curious, and eager to learn new tricks. Her favorite games are tug, fetch, and chase, and she loves a good squeaky toy. I think she would do best in a single person household, preferably someone who woks from home and has lots of time and energy to dedicate to training and entertaining her. Jayden does struggle with reactivity, separation anxiety, resource guarding, and fear-based aggression. We have been working with her vet and a behavioral vet to develop a behavioral modification plan which currently includes anti-anxiety medications. I know that she will be the perfect companion for someone with time and dedication to help conquer her fears and I want to find her a forever home where all of her needs are met.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Small and full of the joy of life, Angel has super long, slender legs and a loving temperament. She was raised around many other dogs and cats and is good with all of them. She loves to be with her person and enjoys car rides. Always interested and happy to see and try new things, you would never know she is an older girl unless she told you she was 7. Healthy and happy, she was born to be a companion dog and her small natural weight and size have helped her with that goal. She tries hard to always be a good girl and will look to her human to see what is expected. Long done with puppy nuttiness, she has learned the wisdom of being able to sit quietly, but really enjoys being out and about, too. If you are thinking of adding a little girl to your home, Angel is a perfect choice.   If you are interested in Angel, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 23, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
Adopt Dolce: Your New Best Friend in Training! I am so sweet, watch my video.. Meet Dolce, a pint-sized terrier with a heart full of love! At just 15 lbs and around 1-2 years old with soulful eyes, Dolce is the perfect mix of sweet and spunky. She is a gentle soul who's always up for playtime. She loves making new doggy friends and will brighten your day with her wagging tail and warm eyes. While she enjoys playtime, Dolce is also a quiet little lady who’s happy to relax by your side. Dolce is working on trusting humans and can be a bit shy and timid at first, but she’s always so gentle and just needs a little patience and love to blossom. Once Dolce settles in, she’ll be the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. Ready to give Dolce the forever home she deserves? Mostly housebroken and crate trained, Dolce is also learning to walk on a leash. With a bit of guidance and encouragement, she’ll be your perfect walking buddy but for now a fenced yard is a requirement for this sweet girl. We wish we knew her story, but she is a young dog (she found herself in a high-kill shelter in Texas and would most certainly have been euthanized if not pulled), coming out of her shell more and more each day-will jump up on the couch to sit with you, she isn't yet fully comfortable with being picked up but will allow it- then she just melts into you, loves her scratches and snuggles. Dolce still has a way to go but looking for her hero who will give her time to become the gem that she will be. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

Story
Meet Izzy. This sweet young pup was abandoned by her owner in Lake Wylie, SC. They decided they no longer wanted her and just dropped her off in a neighborhood and left her there defenseless to fend for herself. Some tenants in the community started feeding her but when they were evicted and had to leave, Izzy was once again on her own. A Good Samaritan saw her lying on the deck of the empty home waiting for their return and reached out to Worthy Dog for help. This sweet girl deserves so much better, and our team is already working hard to give that to her. Izzy is in a foster home with a mom and dad, three dogs, and two cats. She was immediately accepted into the pack and has good doggy energy. She respects her pack and shares food/attention well. She also connects to her human quickly, and once she settles in, she's very much a lap dog.   Izzy is crate-trained and quickly learned to use the doggy door. She has good house manners and has already earned free roam privileges in the home. She's done well meeting visitors to her foster home and loves people — it takes her a minute to warm up but once she does, she’s all about the pets. Izzy has been through a lot of change over the last few months and was anxious when she first arrived at her foster home. She whined for a day or two when left alone, needing time to trust her new environment...but who can blame her? Like many Terriers, she can be vocal at times, so we don't feel she's a great fit for a condo or apartment and would benefit from having a dog buddy or two in her new home. She does settle in and work through things, but being part of a pack helps with her confidence and makes her less anxious. Izzy has a natural joy for life. She is super sweet and cuddly, loves to give kisses, and loves her toys. She has a moderate energy level and is a happy little dog who will make a great companion.  Apply today! BREED ESTIMATE: Rat Terrier Mix GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: ~  14 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE:  ~ 2 years old COAT TYPE:  short ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped FOSTER LOCATION: Alexandria, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. Very loving dog who needs lots of love and attention that I currently can’t afford to give to him. I took him in at 3 weeks old when my husband and the rest of his litter died. It takes him a minute to warm up to strangers but once he liked you he won’t leave you alone.

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13329Hi! My name is Zoey! I was saved by OPH in January. I am currently being fostered in Frederick County Maryland.I’m guessed to be 9 years young, weigh about 12 lbs., Chihuahua/Jack Russell mixed, I like to decompress at my own pace, I am a bit unsure about meeting new people, so please be patient with me, please. Once I am comfortable in my new surroundings, I will show you love, follow you around, and even want to sleep with you - if you let me.I am crate trained, my crate is my safe place, I sometimes hide toys in there. The doctor said I should lose some weight so my foster mom watches what I eat & my treats are limited.Did you notice the heart on my side? I'm in search of my new family. Is that with you? If so apply today - I won’t be available for long!
