Story
Jayden is a really sweet and super energetic ~2yo pup with tons of personality. She loves playing fetch, tug, and chase and will do almost anything for treats/food. She is house trained, crate trained, loosely obedience training, and we are currently working on muzzle training. She is a great companion and would do well in an experienced single person household or a multi-adult household where everyone is FULLY committed to training and management. We adopted her 18mo ago and are re-homing her due to her anxiety and reactivity which occasionally result in aggression towards members of our household. She is currently taking prescription anxiety medication and probiotics which are helping a little, however we have decided that we do not have the experience or environment that she needs to succeed and be comfortable/happy long term. We are more than happy to provide further information including her vet records and vet behaviorist report to prospective adopters.

Story
There's just something special about dogs named Ziggy! Is it their courage? Resilience? Our handsome Ziggy, a rattie mix with possibly fox terrier ancestry, has plenty of both. After being struck by a car and spending a month in a North Carolina shelter with a broken hip, Ziggy was rescued by New Rattitude and given the surgery needed to repair the hip. After brief recovery time, he boarded a plane to fly to Maryland, where his foster home is located and where he courageously faced what he hopes is his last time under the knife--his neutering.   Estimated at 1-2 years old, the resilient fellow has gained some much-needed weight (he's now 12 lbs.) and is making up for lost time with a newfound zest for living. He LOVES playing with toys--LOTS of toys! He gets along with his two canine foster siblings, but his two best friends are dogs weighing over 50 lbs. each. He hopes you'll have a young canine companion for him too. Ziggy is completely house-trained and good walking with harness and leash although he'll bark at strangers, wagging his tail nevertheless.   X-rays show that Ziggy's hip is healing, but some nerve damage remains, causing knuckling of that rear paw. A consulting neurologist states that further healing of the nerve may occur slowly. Unrelated to the nerve, Ziggy may sometimes run on three legs, but he tends to use all four on soft surfaces like carpet or grass. The best part is, Ziggy sees no problem. He does zoomies and stairs, with energy left to play with the big dogs! Nothing seems to stop this resilient little boy, who is so ready for his forever home. And be honest, you KNOW you've always wanted a Ziggy! See more photos in his online album at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/ziggy .   Applicants considering Ziggy should plan to meet him in his foster home prior to adoption to observe his gait and movement patterns in his normal environment. Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. May 23, 2024, 8:54 am

Meet Lola PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. Meet Lola, super sweet cuddle bug, playful and great with small dogs. She is about 1 yr old and 10 pounds. The perfect size to cuddle up on bed with. She is housebroken and a delight. Playtime and cuddles-it is what she is about-has just discovered the toy box... PLEASE READ-many rescue dogs are confused and scared when first adopted, they are in a brand new situation, the people are new, the home and yard are new, everything is new and terrifying. It is so important to check collars and harnesses for correct fit and hang on carefully to your brand new dog-even within a fenced yard until they are feeling more comfortable, coming over to you for scratches, etc. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Story
Milo is a 12 year old rat terrier mix. I adopted him in 2020 from a shelter in Madison, WI when he was 8 years old. He is playful, curious, and energetic and can always bring a smile to my face. Milo has fairly high anxiety which has worsened over the last 6 months with his eyesight and hearing deteriorating, as is expected in a senior dog. I would say I am looking for an experienced owner with lots of patience for Milo, because he is ultimately a very sweet and lovable dog, but needs extra attention.

Story
Mango is a 3yr 15lbs female mini rat terrier/toy fox terrier mix. She was rescued by a small rescue in Orlando Florida where I first adopted her in February 2020. She had been separated a little bit young from her mother and due that she is not well socialized and doesn’t do well with other pets and small children. After trying to train her for the past few years as well as talking with my vet, I’ve come to realize that my current living situation is not what’s best for her. She is very shy around new people and does not do well with other pets, and would do well in a home that is in a quiet neighborhood with an adopter who has a lot of time to spend with her. She does not do well with a lot of change and a lot of noise and commotion. She’s a very loving, caring dog, but she can get pretty grumpy/feisty at night and doesn’t like her nails clipped or her ears touched or her teeth brushed so she may need help from a professional with teeth cleanings, and other grooming needs.

These pups are in Frederick, Maryland too!

Story
Jax was chosen by my boys at 8 weeks old and has been a part of our loving family since 2017. Now that my boys are moving on to college, my wife and I plan on downsizing and moving. Unfortunately, no pets are permitted at our next residence and my boys will be off to college and unable to take care of our little guy. It breaks our hearts to have to seek a new loving home for our Jax, but we hope that he can bring as much fun, love, and light into a new loving home, as he did to ours. Jax is an obedient, healthy, youthful dog. He loves playing and still behaves just like a puppy. Heck, he still looks just like a puppy and always will! He'll love jumping up on your lap for a cuddle session in front of the TV just as much as he'll love running around and playing with you, your kids, or other pets! He has lived with other dogs, cats, kids, etc., for his entire life and will be a great fit for your home! We will miss him so incredibly much.

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/12742Hi, my name is Ben and I just arrived to rescue with OPH! Read on to learn more about me:- I am guessed to be a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier/Feist mix and I'm petite at only 27 lbs- I love to run! My foster mom tries to sprint with me sometimes, but she's not that fast. I'd love to have a yard where I can run around- I LOVE getting my head and belly scratched, and snuggling with my humans. To see me feeling some head-scratch bliss, click here!- I am GREAT at sitting and working to perfect "down"- I’m happy to sleep in my crate at night and when my family is at work, but I prefer to hang out with the people when they are home - I am potty trained but sometimes get so excited that I accidentally tinkle- I love bringing my toys into my crate to play. Watch me here!- I LOVE toys and FOOD! I'm food motivated so you can use food to teach me new tricks :)- Sometimes I like to chase my tail and my foster mom says it is really funny. See me being silly here!- I would do best in a home with no small children since I am still working on understanding personal space. In my foster home I like the kids 6 and over. Those little barely walking kids scare me.- Overall? I'm a very good and lovable boyFrom Ben's foster: Ben is a sweet boy with so much love to give, and it is clear that he just wants to be loved back. He has made so much progress in our time together. He will need an adopter who is patient and understands that it will take him some time to get settled in a new environment, but he promises to repay you with tons of kisses and snuggles. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
