Story
Tennessee is 12 years young. She loves hike walks, going for car drives, snuggling, playing with fluffy little toys, she can still jump 3 feet up in the air when she is excited, crosses a field super fast, and enjoys getting anything that is small and hairy. (Mice, rats, bunnies... hence why she is not good with cats but she has had cats put her in her place! ). She is starting to go blind but that hasn't stopped her from being the active, playful, loving dog she is and this breed can live up to 18 years if well taken care of! She is still going strong and needs her last forever home!

Story
Sassy is a sweet and timid dog. She is very loving. I found her at an animal shelter in Puyallup about 7 years ago. Her breed is a rat terrier. Because she is timid I think she would be best with a family with older children (ones who would not pull on her ears or tail) or with an adult who would love to cuddle with her. I have had her since she was 4 months old. She is potty trained and well behaved. She will bark at other animals. She has been with one other dog for the past 7 years and I added a third dog about 18 months ago. I lived at an apartment complex that allowed me to have all 3 dogs. I have had to relocate recently to a different apartment complex due to a pending job relocation. A former friend was helping me by taking my oldest dog as her own. The friend has health issues and could not manage the dog due to her health issues so I have all 3 with me again. My new apartment will not allow me to keep all 3 dogs.

Story
Meet Tina! She is a 1 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. An adoption application can be completed online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Story
Dapper 8-year-old Jax loves jogging, playing ball, running with stuffed toys, and taking long walks, but inside he's a sensitive soul. A sturdy 25-lb. rat terrier, Jax is a sweet boy whose behavior can be affected by anxiety. His adopter needs the knowledge and empathy to create an environment that helps him live his best life. It's something he richly deserves, for Jax is a cancer survivor, who had a mast cell tumor removed last spring and has since been found to be cancer free.   In his foster home, Jax adjusted to routines quickly. He follows the lead of the resident dogs and plays well with the other dog being fostered there. However, he's sensitive to incursions into his space, unrequested touching, or the possibility of losing valued resources, such as food or a bed. He can get into minor scuffles to protect what he considers his. New people must earn his trust before he'll consider allowing a pet or two. He doesn't like to be picked up at all and will bite if he's touched in a way the he perceives as painful or threatening. (He's muzzled if he has to be extensively handled.) On the other hand, he likes to nap close to his humans and the other dogs but does best sleeping in his own bed. He could be a single dog or live with one other dog who is independent or at least honors boundaries. Due to his moderate prey drive, Jax probably shouldn't live with cats or other small pets.   Ever since Jax started a hypoallergenic diet (cost about $50/month) to ease skin rashes and ear infections from a chicken allergy, he has seemed less anxious and more eager to cuddle. In addition, when he gets enough mental stimulation and physical exercise, he doesn't engage in repetitive barking, another manifestation of anxiety.    Jax definitely doesn't like to be crated, but he is fully house-trained and has never had an indoor accident, raided the trash, or counter surfed, so a crate really isn't needed. On leashed walks, he pulls a bit and loves to stop and sniff, but on jogs, he keeps up the pace. He'll be a wonderful companion for the person with the heart to appreciate his sensitive soul. See more photos of Jax at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jax .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Hi, I am Shadow,They say that black dogs have a harder time getting adopted. I am not sure why because I think black is beautiful. I am an adult around 4 years old. I have lost all that puppy naughtiness, but I still love to play and cuddle and generally be a good girl. I will need some patience because I have a lot to learn when it comes to even the basics, but I am a quick study. Oh, and treats usually help with the learning. I am an active dog who would love to go for a good run every day. If you are a hiker, I think I would love that too. I am good with leash walking; I try not to pull and stay close to you. I like to play with other dogs once I am properly introduced. I haven’t been around children much and cats are made to be chased. Only my opinion! Right now, I spend most of my time outside because my foster mom works, but when I am inside, I know not to do any business in the house that is only for outside.I haven’t had many toys, I am content with a stick or a plastic bottle. Maybe you could teach me to chase a ball and bring it back to you. That would be fun!If it sounds like we could be a family together then just fill out the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Could I be your little,Shadow To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo.
