Meet Nova! Nova is an affectionate dog who is sweet, affectionate, a cuddler, walks well on a leash, dog friendly, and kid friendly. She is a five year old Decker Rat Terrier who has a pleasant disposition and is learning life in the inside of a home. Nova is friendly, gentle and playful and isn't one for being a couch potato. She loves plush squeaky things! She will mouth them for a while and fetch them. Tug of war is also fun with her. Nova loves her people and will give as many kisses as you will receive. She does well with other dogs with slow introductions and is playful and engaging with them once she feels comfortable. Nova has spent most of her life outside in a kennel. She is mostly potty trained if you walk her outside and give her a few mins to potty. Her mistakes are not often. She deeply appreciates it when her human stays near to encourage "potty". Nova is learning to be alone at times. Her foster family is working on crate training with lots of positive reinforcement. She remains calmer if she can see her human. If she cannot see her human, she is persistent at letting her needs be known that she needs to see someone. At the moment we are crate training a few hours at a time and at night. Overall, Nova is super sweet and would do well in a home with a family or another dog. She currently lives with children between 6-12 in her foster home and does well with them. No cats for Nova! She does not prefer someone who has extensive time away. She is very curious about little humans and loves to chase or squeeze a toy. She is the kind of girl who will cherish someone near her at all times. Nova is spayed, vaccinated and chipped. Her adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Roscoe is a fun, lovable, young guy looking for people committed to him for life! He is very affectionate and lovable and he's great with other dogs, especially if they like to play a bit harder and wrestle. He looks like a chihuahua, and rat terrier so may have either or both in his gene pool. Darling little tri color regardless!!! He's making progress with his housetraining as long as he gets fairly regular trips outside. When he came in, he religiously soiled in this crate and we believe someone got him as a baby who worked full time and thought a baby would just self train while being crated for 10 hours a day. That just makes them believe the crate is their toilet. So he may do better with someone who just doesn't believe in crating a dog. He loves toys, play time and giving or receiving affection. Welcome 4-year-old Bowser to CCPAL Rescue. Bowser is a Rat Terrier mix. We think he is mixed with Dachshund. He appears to be house trained because he doesn’t like to go in his kennel even though there is a wee pad. He is smart. He is adorable and weighs about 15 pounds. He is good on a leash and knows the sit command. He is lower on the shedding scale. He loves car rides and if he is off leash and you need him to come, you can open the car door and he will jump in. The only thing he isn’t great at is nail trims. He doesn’t like them, so we let the vet techs do that at his appointments or his groomer. He would be a great walking companion. He has lived in a home with small children and did great. We would like all the children to be 8 or older. He is very affectionate and liked it when Colin held him today. He can run very fast and he comes when you call. He is good with other dogs, even when bigger than himself. He isn’t over vocal and will bond deeply to his human. Many people love the Rat Terrier breed because of their loving nature. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. He is getting his vaccines topped up and will be ready for his new forever home as soon as we find his placement. We think a moderately active family would be best. He is loving and cuddly but will need a yard to play in or a walk daily to get his exercise in. He is a Rat Terrier so he will have fun checking the yard for rodents. He can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Porltand, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200.
