Meet Tina! She is a 2 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. Story
Dapper 12-year-old Jax is an active and smart boy who will be a wonderful companion for the right person! Jax is a 25 lb. rat terrier. He is in excellent physical condition after beating cancer (a mast cell tumor on his belly)! Jax loves sunning himself, walking, jogging, playing with stuffed animals, and playing fetch. He gets along well with small dogs and calm large dogs. He has been very nice to his foster siblings but can be protective of his space and might correct another dog who touches or steps on him with a yowl and small snap. He is protective of his body and needs to wear a muzzle to be physically handled. Jax would be good as a single dog or with a respectful, smaller dog. Jax should not live with cats or other small pets. He also has a bit of anxiety, which has been greatly reduced with a stable schedule and increased exercise, but if unchecked can spiral into bouts of barking. Jax barks at the door when he needs to go out and is perfectly house-trained. He can be trusted to be free indoors and doesn't get into the trash, counter-surf, or chew items. Jax may seem tough, but he has a soft, loving heart for someone willing to take the time to understand him. See more photos of Jax at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jax If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Georgie is a 7.5 lb., happy and bouncy, but shy, 1-year-old rat terrier mix.   When he arrived at his foster home in March from a shelter in CA, he was terrified. He could not be handled, and hid for quite a while. He has made great progress since then, coming out of his shell to show his silly side. He still avoids petting or handling when he's up and about, or by those approaching him from above. But he's  snuggly in bed, and he will sometimes allow pets and snuggles while resting on the couch. He loves to play with toys, adores other small dogs, and would love to be friends with his cat siblings. He's curious about new people, but does not want them to touch him at first. Georgie follows his foster mom from room to room. While he can be timid and avoid hands, he also has the joy, energy, and curiosity of a puppy. He will hide your shoes, steal your yarn, shred your papers, bother your plants, chase all of the toys, and generally bring wonderful, joyful chaos into your home. Georgie adores his foster sister. He follows her everywhere, wishing she would deign to play, but is extremely respectful of her rebukes. He would love to live in a home with another confident small dog, ideally one who will play with him. He's been scared/upset about large (>30 lb) dogs in his space. He desperately wants the cats in his home to play with him as well. His sort of attention may not be for every cat. Georgie has not been tested with children. Georgie does not yet understand about leash walking, and it's pretty challenging to get one on him. He is working on house-training. He is potty-pad trained to some extent. He will happily go pee and poop outside almost immediately if taken out every few hours, but does not ask to be taken out for that specifically. He will need an extremely securely fenced yard at his new home with no small gaps, as it would be very difficult to get him back should he escape and become frightened. For a small dog, Georgie is super quiet. He gives an adorable tiny squeak when he really really wants something, and he play growls from time to time. He has only ever barked when large dogs have entered his space, and only for a short time. He is a true gentleman indeed and would make a wonderful addition to your family.   See more photos of him here:  https://hosting.imageevent.com/newrattitude/georgie If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Sweet Sybil is a darling old lady who needs a soft place to land in her golden years! Sybil is 14 years-old, about 14 lbs., and was adopted 10 years ago but ended up back to New Rattitude after her adopter became too ill to care for her. She is well-behaved and used to life at home as a loving pet. She is house-trained and she gets along well with other dogs, but would be good as a low-maintenance single dog too. Sybil is a bit shy of some people, but eventually warms up to anyone who is patient and kind -- cheese helps as well! Sybil is an adorable and kind-hearted girl and would love to have a quiet, caring home. She hasn't been around kids or cats, but she would likely do well with polite and respectful children and dog-savvy cats. See more pictures of Sybil at her online album here:  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/sybil    If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Meet Binky! Oh this girl is so special! Binky arrived with us after being rescued from a cage in a breeder's backyard. That cage was all she had ever known so she was quite shut down at first. Over the past few months in our care, she has learned that humans are kind, walks are fun and life can be pretty great.  Binky is still quite timid and easily startled but she is the most gentle and kind girl. She loves affection and will gently paw you to keep the pets going. She likes to be close to you and does not love too much alone time, but she can also just comfortably snooze on the couch while you are working. She does not chew things inappropriately and is quite well potty trained. She will do best in a more quiet residential area. She may get a bit spooked in very busy or noisy areas.  Binky gets along with other dogs but does not really know how to play with them. She prefers that they don't get in her face and then she will happily co-exist. She is best in a home with older kids (over 10 only) because younger kids may startle her with sudden movements. She is not suitable for a home with cats. Our entire team adores Binky. She is the sweetest girl and deserves a loving home of her own. She is vaccinated, spayed and chipped. Her adoption fee is $450  We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Meet Nova! Nova is an affectionate dog who is sweet, affectionate, a cuddler, walks well on a leash, dog friendly, and kid friendly. She is a five year old Decker Rat Terrier who has a pleasant disposition and is learning life in the inside of a home. Nova is friendly, gentle and playful and isn't one for being a couch potato.   She loves plush squeaky things! She will mouth them for a while and fetch them. Tug of war is also fun with her. Nova loves her people and will give as many kisses as you will receive.   She does well with other dogs with slow introductions and is playful and engaging with them once she feels comfortable. Nova has spent most of her life outside in a kennel. She has done very well with potty training and has the hang of it now. She is still learning to be alone at times, so her foster family is working on crate training with lots of positive reinforcement. She remains calmer if she can see her human. If she cannot see her human, she is persistent at letting her needs be known that she needs to see someone. At the moment we are crate training a few hours at a time and at night. Overall, Nova is super sweet and would do well in a home with a family or another dog. She currently lives with children between 6-12 in her foster home and does well with them. No cats for Nova! She does not prefer someone who has extensive time away. She is very curious about little humans and loves to chase or squeeze a toy. She is the kind of girl who will cherish someone near her at all times. Nova is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Name: Lime ***CURRENTLY IN VANCOUVER!!! Age: 2 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Terrier Mix Color: Black / Brown / White Weight: 7.5 kg Height (shoulder): 40 cm   Rescue Story Lime was rescued from a municipal shelter.   Personality & Socialization   With People ‍‍‍: Lime tends to bark at new people at first — not so much out of fear, but more like a habit (similar to a yard dog alerting to newcomers). She is very vocal initially, but this settles quickly once she becomes familiar.   Within just a few days, she transforms into a cuddly, affectionate companion who loves attention   Once comfortable, Lime enjoys being close to her people — she will nuzzle between your legs, ask for pets from anyone she trusts, and happily show her belly She can also be picked up comfortably by supporting her belly.   With Other Dogs : Lime is friendly and social with other dogs, both familiar and new. She approaches politely, initiates play, and gets along well regardless of size.   She generally avoids conflict and will walk away if another dog is pushy. While she enjoys social time, she is also independent and relaxes well on her own.   With Cats : Not yet tested, but can be assessed upon request.   Energy Level : Low energy. Lime enjoys calm environments and prefers lounging and relaxing She also likes playing independently with toys.   Additional Notes :   No food guarding No separation anxiety Calm and well-mannered Crate trained Outdoor potty trained ‍ Minimal demand barking   Note: Lime’s main challenge is her initial barking at unfamiliar people. With a bit of patience during introductions, she warms up quickly and becomes very affectionate Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram! Story
Meet Hiro   Name: Hiro Age: 5 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Jack Russell Mix Color: Brown Weight: 12.5 kg Height: 41 cm   Rescue Story   Hiro was rescued from a municipal shelter at the end of 2023.   When Hiro first arrived at the private shelter, he would occasionally grab onto clothing when he became overly excited or happy. It was determined to be playful behavior rather than aggression, and after over a year of consistent training, this behavior is now very rare.   Because of this, Hiro has spent over a year in professional training focused on impulse control, obedience, and handling skills He has made tremendous progress and now only shows this behavior very rarely (about once every few months). These days, he is much more likely to express affection through cuddling and leaning into people instead   He has also earned a Dog Fitness Level 3 certification with his trainer   ‍‍‍ Socialization with People   Hiro absolutely loves people He is affectionate with strangers, men, children, and familiar people alike. He loves cuddling, climbing into laps, showing his belly, and being close to his humans   He can be picked up comfortably and enjoys physical affection. While he is very sweet-natured, he is also energetic, playful, strong, and intelligent — very typical of a Jack Russell mix   Because of his playful intensity and energy level, Hiro would do best with an adopter who understands active working-type breeds and can continue providing structure, boundaries, and mental stimulation   Socialization with Other Dogs   Hiro is social and friendly with other dogs and enjoys greeting and playing with unfamiliar dogs However, people are always his priority.   He especially enjoys playing with dogs similar to or larger than his size. Smaller dogs do not interest him much. If another dog behaves rudely, Hiro may give an appropriate warning, but he has never fought with another dog.   He enjoys social time but is also perfectly happy relaxing alone in the sun after playtime   Cats   Cat testing has not yet been done, but can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Hiro has bursts of high energy and loves active play, but after about 30 minutes of exercise he usually settles nicely and relaxes.   He especially enjoys training and learning new things, so mental enrichment and structured activities are very important for him   Walks   Hiro is very experienced on walks and generally walks well. However, he is smart and tends to test handlers at first. If boundaries are unclear, he may pull or try to make his own decisions.   With calm but firm leadership and structure before walks, he listens very well and becomes an excellent walking companion   Other Behaviors   Hiro does not guard food or toys from people or other dogs He has no separation anxiety and is calm in a kennel.   He may bark excitedly when greeting people he loves, especially when his owner returns home   He rides very well in the car, can jump in and out on his own, and is currently outdoor potty trained   Hiro is an affectionate, intelligent, funny, and active dog who forms strong bonds with people He would thrive in a home that appreciates the lively personality and clever mind of a Jack Russell mix while continuing to provide structure, exercise, and love. Story
Under AKR Custody Review (Adoption temporarily on hold pending resolution of foster situation) Currently in Vancouver!!! Name: Mongmong Age: 4 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: JRT (Jack Russell Terrier) Mix Color: Black, tan, and white Weight: 9.5 kg (20.9 lbs) Height (at shoulder): 32 cm (12.6 inches)   Mongmong is a sweet and affectionate pup who loves people — whether you’re a familiar friend or someone he’s just met, he’ll happily come over for pets and attention. He’s especially gentle with young children and is comfortable being picked up with arms under his belly. Once he warms up, he’ll even show you his belly! He’s curious about other dogs and will approach them to say hello, though he doesn’t typically engage in play. Gentle with cats, not much interest in them. Mongmong has a moderate energy level and enjoys outdoor activities like walks, but settles down calmly afterward. He’s well-behaved on leash, doesn’t pull, and follows his human companion nicely. He is not food aggressive and remains calm in a kennel or during car rides. Mongmong was found injured, likely from a car accident, and was at risk of euthanasia at a municipal shelter. After being rescued, Mongmong had one eye removed due to phthisis bulbi, a condition that caused his eye to shrink and lose function and had hernia surgery on 25.05.01-but he’s recovered beautifully and is now ready for a fresh start Mongmong is a brave little survivor with a heart full of love. He’s looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, cherished, and loved — could that be with you?
