An elderly man had these 4 pups dropped on his property and he didn’t know what to do with them. He approached a neighbor that he knew to do rescue but she, too, was having her own problems with too many dogs and she approached me. They were already 3 ½ mos old. (We gave them a DOB of 2/15/26.) We took them in and started shots, neutering and TLC. I see 2 puppies with one father and 2 puppies with another father. I did a phone scan for breed-types and came out with varying suggestions so as we list each one, I will list the differences. MAGNUM-Possibly a mixture of Rat Terrier, Jack Russell, and Beagle. He is currently 6mos old & weighs 15#. I expect him to be 25# when grown. He’s a happy puppy that is brave and out-going. He’s the leader of the pack…loves to play tug-of-war with toys. He loves to play with all the toys and loves the water tub. It is quite hot right now in Texas…so they all love the water. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. Peter aka Pedro  is a  2 yr old male Terrier (maybe some rat terrier....who knows) about 12 lb .  He is a semi energetic dog that love humans and likes other dogs his size (esp his Chi foster brother s/sisters) and LOVES humans (esp snuggling on human couch or human bed). He is part of a bonded pair with his Yorkie mix brother Micah.  He loves dog beds, doggie blankets, dog harnesses and clothes. He is a great companion for active person or just retired couple with a securely fenced yard that like small dogs..    He will be okay with small dog polite children (over 8 yrs of age) or no children.  Small dog experience is recommended. Poor innocent, sweet & forgotten about Gapy, was ready to be euthanized in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email went out for help & this beautiful boy was on that list. Yes, it appears at the age of 3 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. We rescued this beautiful boy & 2 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Gapy who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Gapy all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find his loving forever home. We truly believe that Gapy was originally someone’s dog & they just did not want him anymore from his mannerisms & his behavior of knowing certain things. All this boy wants is to be loved & have a home to call his own. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we got him out of the shelter his nails were so extremely long & his nails were clipped by our vets but will need to be & regularly dremeled to get them to a good place. Gapy at times can have a big personality & knows what he wants. He isn’t the biggest cuddler but enjoys being patted & being loved. He is a independent little man. That being said, Gapy is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time & put on weight instantly in his foster home. Gapy’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He also enjoys sunning himself in the backyard & also sitting on the couch & looking out the window, he really enjoys taking in the sites. But he will also do his own thing. Gapy has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. Gapy rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But has done amazing in his foster home. We are looking for a forever home for Gapy where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog in the home for him to thrive. Gapy loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. This boy enjoys going into a crate sometimes so that tells us that someone used to call him to go into a crate. In his foster home he sleeps in the bed with his foster mum or will sleep on the dog bed. Gapy is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Gappy eats a clean diet, meaning raw fruits, raw vegetables, 70 % raw proteins, grains, fats & supplements. He also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks. All of his treats are homemade Gapy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with a playful dog. Gapy is roughly just over 8 years old, 21 lbs and is perhaps a rat terrier mix & male. He had a dental & polish & we got him neutered. Gapy is, microchipped, heart worm negative, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we do not redo them as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs & will only redo rabies. We have spent far more on Gapy, with all of his medical care getting him well thank his adoption fee comes close to covering with, neuter, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, flea meds, dewormer, boarding, dental scale & polish etc. Gapy has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. Just because he got along fine with the cat in the foster home doesn’t mean he will get along with all cats. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Gapy was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Gapy’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Gapy potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Gapy has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Gapy & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. Dapper 12-year-old Jax is an active and smart boy who will be a wonderful companion for the right person! Jax is a 25 lb. rat terrier. He is in excellent physical condition after beating cancer (a mast cell tumor on his belly)! Jax loves sunning himself, walking, jogging, playing with stuffed animals, and playing fetch. He gets along well with small dogs and calm large dogs. He has been very nice to his foster siblings but can be protective of his space and might correct another dog who touches or steps on him with a yowl and small snap. He is protective of his body and needs to wear a muzzle to be physically handled. Jax would be good as a single dog or with a respectful, smaller dog. Jax should not live with cats or other small pets. He also has a bit of anxiety, which has been greatly reduced with a stable schedule and increased exercise, but if unchecked can spiral into bouts of barking. Jax barks at the door when he needs to go out and is perfectly house-trained. He can be trusted to be free indoors and doesn't get into the trash, counter-surf, or chew items. Jax may seem tough, but he has a soft, loving heart for someone willing to take the time to understand him. Georgie is a 7.5 lb., 1-year-old rat terrier mix. He has a quirky, spunky, and sweet personality that has utterly charmed his foster mom. When he arrived at his foster home, he was terrified. He was scared of being handled by humans, and hid for quite a while. He's made great progress since then, coming out of his shell to show his silly, confident, affectionate, and stubborn sides. Now, he stomps up on new dogs, leans toward new people on walks, follows his foster mom from room to room, and explores everything. He's curious about new sights, smells, and sounds. He loves toys, walks, his foster sibling, and snuggling with foster mom at night. He is very high energy and still puppy-like in his play and his love for chewing new things. He is independent and would like handling to be at his request. His request comes generally only when the human is lying down. You can't just lean down and pet him. Though when it is his choice, he can be quite snuggly. He gives the sweetest, gentlest little kisses that can ramp up into wild puppy-shark play bites. He sleeps snuggled tightly against his foster mom every night and wakes her up with cuddles and kisses. When human hands come at him not at his request, he merrily dodges them and scampers away.  He's not scared now so much as too busy for your nonsense, like a toddler who doesn't want mom's hugs until bedtime. Georgie adores his foster sister, follows her everywhere, and does whatever she does. They enjoy a vigorous wrestling match each morning, which Georgie would repeat hourly if she let him. He will do best with another dog in his new home to help him learn the ways of living with humans, and to keep him entertained. Georgie is friendly with other small dogs. Some larger dogs coming into his home have been scary to him. He will hide and shake and possibly even growl from a safe spot when confronted by a big dog. He's comfortable with the cats in his foster home, and can be respectful if they demand it. He will chase if they don't shut him down so he's not every cat's cup of tea. Georgie is working on house-training. He is potty pad trained, but his aim is poor, and his definition of potty pad may include various other soft objects on the floor. He's been known to mark table legs and objects that he perceives as high value. That is improving some now that he's been neutered. He will happily go pee and poop outside almost immediately if taken out every few hours, but does not ask to be taken out for that specifically. His new family will need to work on this with him and understand the challenges in making progress. Georgie does not yet fully understand leashes. Once captured and harnessed against his will, he does eagerly walk on one with his foster sibling, but he pulls a good deal. He's shown some signs of leash reactivity toward strange dogs.
