Story

Sprite is a 11 month old heeler/rat terrier mix. She loves to be with people and other dogs. She’s crate trained and house broken. She’s a very smart girl and picked up the “touch” (booping her nose in the palm of your hand) command in a single weekend. She went through a 2 week board and train program with Off Leash K9 and knows sit, down, place, come, off commands. She has good recall when off leash and can be trusted off leash in hiking areas, I would not do off leash in city type environments. Sprite can be a nervous girl so shes shy in new or loud environments but has never reacted out of fear, she just becomes very timid. She can be destructive to a normal curious puppy amount if left alone so crating her is the best option. But she does well in the crate for even 8-10 hours. She gets along perfectly with other dogs, especially big dogs that she can rough house with, and well with cats and chickens. She loves kids too. She’s a great girl and it’s devastating to have to lose her.

This girl just wants to have fun! She is a bit higher energy and would love room to move and a friend that matches her energy (or someone willing to play with her)! She currently lives with 4 other dogs, a cat, chickens, pigs, budgies, and a bearded dragon. She’d do best with a dog savvy cat and further training with other animals cause she will want to play with them. She’s not what I’d call a lapdog, but loves to please, and is affectionate. Definitely trainable and pretty darn smart. She is a follower and will take behavioral cues from the other dogs she lives with. She’s working on not jumping up and not being reactive to people/noises at home (she’s not reactive on walks or in public). She goes into her crate with treats. Walks well on a leash and we’re working on gaining confidence on walks. She’s young, spunky and worth it! Roscoe is a fun, lovable, young guy looking for people committed to him for life! He is very affectionate and lovable and he's great with other dogs, especially if they like to play a bit harder and wrestle. He looks like a chihuahua, and rat terrier so may have either or both in his gene pool. Darling little tri color regardless!!! He's making progress with his housetraining as long as he gets fairly regular trips outside. When he came in, he religiously soiled in this crate and we believe someone got him as a baby who worked full time and thought a baby would just self train while being crated for 10 hours a day. That just makes them believe the crate is their toilet. So he may do better with someone who just doesn't believe in crating a dog. He loves toys, play time and giving or receiving affection. Dapper 12-year-old Jax is an active and smart boy who will be a wonderful companion for the right person! Jax is a 25 lb. rat terrier. He is in excellent physical condition after beating cancer (a mast cell tumor on his belly)! Jax loves sunning himself, walking, jogging, playing with stuffed animals, and playing fetch. He gets along well with small dogs and calm large dogs. He has been very nice to his foster siblings but can be protective of his space and might correct another dog who touches or steps on him with a yowl and small snap. He is protective of his body and needs to wear a muzzle to be physically handled. Jax would be good as a single dog or with a respectful, smaller dog. Jax should not live with cats or other small pets. He also has a bit of anxiety, which has been greatly reduced with a stable schedule and increased exercise, but if unchecked can spiral into bouts of barking. Jax barks at the door when he needs to go out and is perfectly house-trained. He can be trusted to be free indoors and doesn't get into the trash, counter-surf, or chew items. Jax may seem tough, but he has a soft, loving heart for someone willing to take the time to understand him.
