Story
Sassy is a sweet and timid dog. She is very loving. I found her at an animal shelter in Puyallup about 7 years ago. Her breed is a rat terrier. Because she is timid I think she would be best with a family with older children (ones who would not pull on her ears or tail) or with an adult who would love to cuddle with her. I have had her since she was 4 months old. She is potty trained and well behaved. She will bark at other animals. She has been with one other dog for the past 7 years and I added a third dog about 18 months ago. I lived at an apartment complex that allowed me to have all 3 dogs. I have had to relocate recently to a different apartment complex due to a pending job relocation. A former friend was helping me by taking my oldest dog as her own. The friend has health issues and could not manage the dog due to her health issues so I have all 3 with me again. My new apartment will not allow me to keep all 3 dogs.

Story
Adorable little Mina is looking for a warm lap of her own. She is tiny 5.5lb girl that is approx 7yrs old. She is very curious and loves to run around and explore the yard so a fenced yard would be ideal. Otherwise, she’s very content just hanging out with her person. Mina is a quiet girl so she could be a great condo or office dog companion. She gets along wonderful with other animals, too, and would like another tiny dog in the home to cuddle with, but it’s not required. She loves all people but she can be a bit insecure so an adult only home is best.

Story
Meet Tina! She is a 1 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. An adoption application can be completed online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Story
Handsome 10-year-old Jax will make an excellent companion to the person or persons who can help him feel safe. A purebred rat terrier weighing 25 lbs., Jax has been working on reducing his anxiety, which was likely caused by the discomfort of skin allergies, a manifestation of a cancerous mast cell tumor. With the tumor removed and Jax cancer free for over one year, his skin issues are now under control (although he must still avoid food containing chicken). Today Jax is a much happier dog, who likes sunning himself and also walking, jogging, and playing ball; physical activity, in turn, helps further reduce any residual anxiety. With proper introduction, Jax will even play nicely with new dogs, more quickly enjoying the company of smaller dogs, especially females. However, he can scuffle with any dog who ignores his body language or doesn't respect his space. He could easily be a single dog or live with one other dog who is independent or who at least honors boundaries. Due to his moderate prey drive, Jax shouldn't live with cats or other small pets.   Jax adjusts to new routines well and sticks close to his humans. He loves to cuddle but isn't really a lapdog. He's polite around new people if they're introduced in a positive way. However, he hates being picked up, and he'll defend that sentiment with his teeth and wouldn't enjoy being around children. Although he's no fan of crates, it's not really an issue, as he has impeccable house manners. He has never had an indoor potty accident, 'emptied' the trash, or counter surfed. Life has given this good boy a sensitive soul. If you nurture it, Jax will give you his heart. See more photos of Jax at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jax .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Found as a stray with her sister and her presumed mom, 6-lb. Cherish may look like a puppy, but her adult teeth suggest that she's likely to be 1-2 years old. She'll also remind you of a puppy in other ways. For example, she's dependent on being near humans or other dogs. In her foster home, if she's not trailing her foster mom, she's probably with her sister, Charmy. Like a baby duckling, Cherish will clamor to catch up if she loses sight of you, and she may not be happy if you have to leave, but she'll eventually calm down. A pretty sound sleeper, Cherish loves sleeping under the covers with her person, but be careful not to roll on her! (Needless to say, her size precludes her living with small children or anyone who can't handle her gently.) Her favorite activities? Cuddling in a lap and eating! In fact, she 'cherishes' both to the point of growling and snapping at any dog who comes too close when she's enjoying either one.   Cherish is also like a puppy when she's walking on leash. She loves her walks, but the leash tries to entangle her legs, forcing her to give a pitiful look that means, 'Pick me up please!' Nevertheless, she's friendly towards new people and dogs she meets, and like Spider-Man she can climb human bodies vertically to reach their kissing zone, i.e. their face. (She also uses those Spidey skills to climb any mesh or perforated gates you might use to contain her.) Her friendliness doesn't extend to the cats and other small creatures she may encounter, however, so she would probably do best in a home without cats.    Cherish is doing well with her house-training, but she'll sometimes have accidents if she can't get outdoors in time. Her other house manners are good; she doesn't chew on furniture or dig holes into the couch. However, when driving, if you don't have Cherish crated or securely tethered, the little scamp will end up in your lap! Sure, it may take a little work to turn this puppy wannabe into a princess, but you'll cherish the result. Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Agent Mulder has escaped Roswell with Agent Scully and he knows the truth is out there...the truth that his forever home awaits! Mulder and Scully were found as strays, rescued from a Roswell, New Mexico shelter, and transported to the State of Washington. Now they are ready for alien abduction adoption.    Estimated to be 1 year old and weighing a solid 20 lbs., Mulder has a long body, short legs, and one spunky, happy attitude! He may be a mix of rat terrier with other adorable breeds all blessed with healthy prey drives. If it's little and moves quickly, Mulder's on it, so he shouldn't be with cats or other small pets. However, he gets along with every large and small dog he has met, with the possible exception of the one who is probably his littermate, Scully. The two have a turbulent relationship with frequent scuffles, so they will both do much better once they're separated. Mulder has been friendly with every person he has met and would probably do well with older, responsible children, who know how to interact gently with dogs. He would love to be part of a family that's active and that includes him in their activities. He would also be very happy having another dog to play with.    Mulder is doing well with his house-training. He wants to go potty outdoors but can have accidents if he doesn't have quick access to the outside. Mulder is clever, sweet, and eager to please his humans. He'll make an excellent companion, one who is eager to explore the great unknown, i.e. a home where he'll be loved forever. See more photos of Mulder at. https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jackmulder .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old.
