Story
Sweet little Gene is on the hunt for his forever home!  A 13-week-old Rat Terrier mix, he currently weighs 10lbs and we estimate mature weight of 30 to 35 lbs. Gene is small and cuddly which is perfect for anyone looking to snuggle! He loves other dogs, toys, cats, and should do just fine with children! He has a sleek, white and black coat that makes him resemble a cow. No worries, this boy wasn't raised in a barn! (ME, 4/22/23) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  June 7, 2023, 2:59 pm

Story
Dolly is a fantastic little girl with a temperament to prove it! She is a 9-month-old mix of Rat Terrier and Miniature Pinscher. She weighs 20 pounds now and should mature to between 25 and 30 pounds. Dolly wears a short coat of black and tan, which shines in the sun. This happy go lucky girl enjoys being around people and other dogs! Cats are unknown. She likes to go for walks and play with toys! Dolly would make a great family pet.   Jetson is ready to 'orbit' around your world! This sweet boy is a 5-month-old, Rat Terrier/ Jack Russell mix. He currently weighs 12 puppy pounds and will mature to about 35 adult pounds! His short, black and white coat is oh so soft! Jetson loves to run around his yard, play with his puppy friends, and follow his foster around! He is also good with cats and children! Story
Hi Everybody, my name is Kenobi. I am a neutered male Rat Terrier mix, I am approximately 2 years old, and I am up to date on vaccines. I would do best with an active family as I love to take walks, run and play, and my absolute favorite is...fetching the ball. I LOVE IT!!! You throw it and I will bring it back, it is so much fun. The ladies here are always saying how cute I am and that I am a good boy. I am looking for my forever loving family and home. Please email the ladies for an adoption application at hampshirecountyac@gmail.com. So if you are looking for a fun active new best friend then I am it. C'mon lets go for a hike and play some fetch.     June 3, 2023, 1:59 pm

Sugar is ready to find her forever home. She is a sweet, smart girl who loves her simple comforts and if you give her a warm bed she'll love you too! This little cutie is spry and active (low/medium energy) but not over the top and settles nicely. She spends a good part of the day sleeping but loves walks, sniff toys, adventures, and attention! She can be a bit selective about her dog friends and would do best in a home where young children aren’t present as she can be a bit fearful at times. This little gal knows to go outside and do her business and is low shed! She learned quickly how to sit and go into her crate on command, which she sleeps in at night. She is leaning how to spend time in there during the day when her human isn’t around, but needs someone who can be patient and practice this with her. She is Heartworm positive but her treatment is complete and she is doing really well!  It sure would be nice if she was in her forever home spending the rest of her years with you!! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  .
