Story
Grab your tissue and get ready to meet Lil Man. Our rescue was asked if we could foster this little guy while his owner was in the hospital.  We were more than eager since his owner was an Army Veteran.  After just a few weeks, we were told the owner was not doing well and had been transferred to a nursing home.  He knew his time on this earth was short and his only request was to see Lil Man. We made sure his final wish came true, so got Lil Man all spruced up and we made the trip. Upon entering the room, tears filled our eyes when he saw his beloved Lil Man and called out for him.  We wanted to give this Veteran that much needed peace and assured him that we would find a wonderful family to love Lil Man.  The next day, he passed away.  Now our journey begins as we start the search for a wonderful family to love this man's dog that will fulfill our promise.  Lil Man is precious!  Everyone holds him and covers him in kisses.  He is between 2-3 years old and appears to be a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier Mix. Weighing only 9 lbs, he is the perfect lap dog.  He is dog friendly and even does great with cats.  Now that all of his vetting is complete, he is ready to find that forever home. Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are the perfect one for Lil Man! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 26, 2023, 10:57 pm

Story
Mango is a 3yr 15lbs female mini rat terrier/toy fox terrier mix. She was rescued by a small rescue in Orlando Florida where I first adopted her in February 2020. She had been separated a little bit young from her mother and due that she is not well socialized and doesn’t do well with other pets and small children. After trying to train her for the past few years as well as talking with my vet, I’ve come to realize that my current living situation is not what’s best for her. She is very shy around new people and does not do well with other pets, and would do well in a home that is in a quiet neighborhood with an adopter who has a lot of time to spend with her. She does not do well with a lot of change and a lot of noise and commotion. She’s a very loving, caring dog, but she can get pretty grumpy/feisty at night and doesn’t like her nails clipped or her ears touched or her teeth brushed so she may need help from a professional with teeth cleanings, and other grooming needs.

Korki is a great dog, attached to her friend Buddy, so they should be adopted together. She is very sweet, a little shy with strangers, likes chasing small animals. When we adopted her we were told she has Lymes disease but she never had any issues. She is very playful and likes to be pet.

Story
Sweet little Gene is on the hunt for his forever home!  A 13-week-old Rat Terrier mix, he currently weighs 10lbs and we estimate mature weight of 30 to 35 lbs. Gene is small and cuddly which is perfect for anyone looking to snuggle! He loves other dogs, toys, cats, and should do just fine with children! He has a sleek, white and black coat that makes him resemble a cow. No worries, this boy wasn't raised in a barn! (ME, 4/22/23) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  May 27, 2023, 5:03 pm

Story
Meet Lola - Lola is about 3 years old and 26 lbs. We think she is a Parsons Terrier/Jack Russell Mix (purely a guess). Lola is the sweetest girl who loves to sit in your lap and snuggle. Lola pulls a bit on leash, but her foster mom is working on this as Lola enjoys her daily walks. Lola is good with other dogs and although she is not fostered with children, she would be fine with children 6 years and up. Lola's foster mom reports she has not had any accidents in the house. Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***We do not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 5 unless they currently live with dogs.*** The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
