Story
Meet Jimmy – your new favorite little shadow with a tail!  At just 5 months old, Jimmy is already living his best life and is so happy to be here. This sweet boy wakes up every day like it’s the best day ever — because to him, it is! Jimmy is a toy enthusiast and firmly believes that life is better when you always have a ball nearby. Toss it? Amazing. Squeak it? Incredible. Carry it around proudly like a trophy? Absolutely. He’s never met a toy he didn’t love. This smart pup is easy to train and very food motivated, which makes teaching him new tricks both fun and rewarding. Got treats? You’ve got his full attention. He’s already doing great walking on a leash and enjoys his strolls like a little pro. Car rides? No problem — Jimmy settles in nicely and is happy to be your co-pilot. He gets along well with other dogs and would love a playful buddy, but he’d also be perfectly content soaking up all the love as your one and only. Jimmy does like to know where his people are — he’s a loyal little guy who enjoys being close and keeping tabs on his favorite humans. If you’re looking for a joyful, toy-loving, easygoing puppy who’s equal parts playful and devoted, Jimmy is ready to roll into your life (probably with a ball in his mouth).      Adoption fee: $525, includes 1st DHPP, deworming, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
Meet MINNIE! Sweet Minnie is about 5 years old, 25 pounds, female, black and tan rat terrier mix. She is so sweet and a friendly gal! She loves to get attention from her humans! Everyone she meets adores this sweet girl. While she is a tripod, Minnie does not let that hold her back -- she can be energetic, and loves playing in the yard and with her toys in the house! After a walk, Minnie settles down for a nice nap or just to hang out with her people. She has done well with cats in her home. Minnie has great house manners, including being housetrained. Poor Minnie has not always been properly taken care of but has left her horrible past behind and is ready to find her forever home. When found by animal control in NC, she had a painful leg injury. Despite the pain, she was so sweet that the shelter made an urgent plea to save her....PetConnect Rescue was able to come to her rescue, bring her to the DC area to a great foster, and give her the necessary medical care she needed, including amputation of the irreparable leg! Although she is a tripod, she has so much love and happiness to give to her new family for many years! Minnie would love to curl up in your lap to hang out on a spring evening; she loves to cuddle and get pets! Minnie is up-to-date on vaccines, preventatives, and has had bloodwork, a dental, and heartworm treatment! She is eager to find her person(s) to love! ***Please note that our first step is to fill out an application (it does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Robin at rturner@petconnectrescue.org. **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Sherman (aka Shermie or Sherm) is a handsome little rat terrier mix with a heart full of love. Rescued from a busy shelter where he was too nervous to shine, he's now thriving in foster care in Northern Virginia and showing his true, gentle spirit. About 2–3 years-old and 15 lbs., Sherman is sweet, sensitive, and playful. He may need a little time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he becomes a deeply loyal companion who loves being by your side. He enjoys other small dogs and has a submissive, easygoing play style. Sherman would do well with a confident canine buddy — or as an only pup soaking up all the attention. He'd really thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day. Though he can be a bit skittish when first being leashed, he quickly relaxes and truly enjoys walks, car rides, and playdates with his small dog friends. Sherman is progressing nicely with house-training and does well on a consistent schedule.  He has gotten along well with cats but has not been tested with children. Due to his sensitive nature, he'd likely do best in a calm home without young kids. With patience and love, Sherman will blossom into a devoted little shadow who bonds deeply and gives his whole heart.  For more images and video of Sherman, please visit: https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/sherman If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www.
