To learn more about Candy, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Candy will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Candy is a gorgeous caramel-colored Redbone Coonhound mix whose name fits her perfectly! She’s as sweet as caramel candy and just as irresistible. With her velvety coat glowing in warm amber tones and that magnificent hound nose leading the way, she turns heads everywhere she goes. Candy is friendly and energetic, and has done well playing with other dogs, happily joining in games and social time, showing off both her playful side and her easygoing nature. In true hound fashion, she loves to sniff on her walks ( who wouldn’t ?), but equally enjoys a good game of tug and searching for treats in a snuffle mat. She knows how to ‘sit’ and takes treats gently. If you’re looking for a best friend with a big nose for adventure and an even bigger heart for love, Candy is ready to caramel-melt her way right into yours.

Story
2 yrs old, 51 lbs Lovey was cruelly shot in the head soon after having puppies. Because of that tragedy, she needed to have her eye removed. Despite it all, she has shown incredible resiliency. The shelter fell head over heals with her loving demeanor (hence her name!) and long silky ears. According to the shelter, "She’s wonderful and deserves to be pampered the rest of her life." Lovey is new to the rescue, and we can't wait to get to know this special dog ourselves. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
Honey came to us from a very rural and high kill shelter after the people that had her gave away or sold her puppies. When we heard about her story and what happened to her puppies, we jumped to save her. Honey is as sweet as her name suggests. She is a lovely redbone coonhound and all around terrific dog. She knows her name and responds nicely to it, she knows "sit" and "lay down", takes treats gently, good on a leash, wags her tail and is friendly to other dogs that come over to meet her. She's a really nice girl and anyone lucky enough to adopt Honey will have a wonderful companion. HART Homepage: https://hart90.org/ Questions About this Animal?
