Story
Hi, I’m Tilly! I’m two years old, about 55 pounds and 23 inches of knee-high perfection. My best guess is that I’m a Harrier hound, or small English Foxhound—I’m stocky, with a beautiful square head, but I don’t howl or even bark much. What I do have are the most gorgeous multicolored spots… and yes, I’ve been told I’m simply beautiful. I humbly agree. 😉 During the day, I’ve settled into a classic hound routine: exploring the backyard, playing with my foster siblings, breakfast, a nice nap, walk time, and then repeating the fun until it’s time to crash on the couch for the evening. I also sleep through the night outside of a crate, which I really prefer since I spent too many hours in one in my previous life. 😔 True to my likely heritage, I love running the yard with my nose to the ground, catching scents like the little explorer I am. Adventure is definitely my middle name. I can’t tell you exactly what my early life was like, but my foster family thinks I may have been a hunting dog who missed out on a lot of puppyhood—so now I’m soaking up the world with joyful enthusiasm and making up for lost time. The good news is that I’m proving to be a wonderful companion. I ride great in the car, I am extremely affectionate and seem to love all people, and I’m great with other dogs. I’ve even done wonderfully at adoption events, happily meeting new friends and soaking up attention. I’m still polishing a few skills in my foster home (think of it as finishing school!). This might be my first time being a true family dog. The best part? I absolutely adore my people—hugs and pets are the best! So if you’re looking for a freckled, fun-sized explorer with a playful heart — who had a rough start in life likely in a kennel for a good part of it — and a whole lot of love to give, I’m your girl. And remember - life’s just better with spots. 🐾 Tilly is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. Story
https://foha.org/pet/ozzy2021/ Howdy! I'm Ozzy! I'm a handsome boy who is getting to know the world. A lot can be scary for a dog like me who hasn't had a lot of experiences in the real world. I'm shy at first but will warm up quickly if you give me some yummy chicken. Cars and new sounds can be a little scary for me too, so I'll need someone to help introduce me to new things and show me all the great things in life! My favorite thing to do is play soccer - kick the ball for me and watch me (and my ears) bounce with excitement! I also love sniffing and exploring the trails here at FOHA. Because I'm still learning how to be confident in a world of uncertainty, I will do best in a home without children. If you'd like to get to know me a little better, submit an application and we can set up a time to meet. Hope to see you soon!! Story
Meet Oh Snow You Didn't — but her friends call her Molly Oh Snow is a Treeing Walker Hound/Border Collie mix, and that combo explains everything — she's got the hound's voice, the heart of a pack dog, and just enough collie smarts to be wonderfully mischievous. She sports the most gorgeous, glossy black and white coat (genuinely one of the softest dogs you'll ever pet) and carries herself with the energy of someone who always has something important to say. She communicates. Constantly. Grunts when she's lounging, howls when she has requests, barks when the moment calls for it. She would not thrive in an apartment, but in a house with some space, her voice is part of her enormous personality — and you'll love it. At home, she's come a long way. Oh Snow is fully potty trained and will signal near the door when she needs to go out. She's learned sit, paw, and up — and being treat-motivated means training sessions are a joy. She's working on her confidence and still settling into crate life (she gets a little anxious, but she does calm down), so a patient home will go a long way. Out in the world, she's a star. She was a total hit at a local brewery — great with people, pets, and kids alike. She's not fazed by rain or bath time, which is a genuine gift. And after any walk, no matter the length, she comes home and immediately crashes. Instant nap mode. Every time. Her people are her whole world. Once that bond forms, Oh Snow is a devoted lap-dog-in-a-medium-to-large-dog-body. She loves our resident dogs and plays with them almost around the clock until she wears herself out. She's also surprisingly respectful of the cats (better than most fosters we've seen). She's learning how to give proper kisses, but she gets so excited that technique goes out the window — her heart is 100% in it. One last thing: If you shower at home, you will have a bathroom companion who will sniff everything, stare at you with great curiosity, and may or may not walk off with your washcloth as an invitation to play, which is objectively hilarious. Oh Snow is growing fast and will likely be a medium to large dog full grown. She'd do best with an experienced dog owner who appreciates a big personality and is ready to invest in her training and confidence. She'll give back tenfold. Interested in giving Oh Snow her forever home? Reach out today — this one won't last long. Adoption Day: March 21st at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2648815##

Story
To learn more about Milo, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Milo will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Meet Milo, a handsome hound with the biggest brown eyes and a nose that can sniff out anything that’s crossed his path! This 1-year-old fellow is sweet and full of love for his people. He loves to lean in and get a good rub. He is always interested in meeting new dogs, but once he’s done with his sniffing, he is more interested in their owners – giving them his big brown-eyed look to win them over. He is a people pleaser! Milo is super curious about the world and follows a scent on his walks or when he is in the yard. If he hears a sound (e.g., a siren, a bird, a dog bark), he will stop in his tracks and look around in an effort to figure out what it was and who it came from, then start walking again. He is a bit of a busybody since he has to know what is going on in the neighborhood! Milo doesn’t bay or bark like most hounds. He might whimper if he needs to go out, but that is about it. He has never shown interest in any dog toys. He is well-behaved in the house and can be left at home on his own. Milo loves to take walks, though he will zig-zag while on leash and requires a gentle correction to keep him from cutting in front. He is easy to correct on leash. This sweet boy would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard and humans (any age) to give him lots of love and attention. If you’re looking for a laid-back, loyal, lovable hound companion, Milo is your guy!
